I'll be arriving at BLT a week from today (YAY!) and already did online check-in. And then, of course, realized I shouldn't have done that. We have a room-only reservation. There are 3 people on the reservation and two of us have annual passes. We need to buy a ticket for the 3rd, but I didn't put that on the reservation because I didn't/don't want to pay for it in advance. I'd planned on just adding it to his KTTW card at check-in. So how do I do this?

I've already done on-line check-in and my experience with that in June was that they don't really want to chit-chat or help you any with that other than give you the packet (which is totally find - I understand that). But I've heard reports that there's not actually a separate on-line check-in line at CR/BLT anyway? Do you think I'll be able to add the ticket on at check-in? Failing that, where do you buy tickets otherwise once you're on property and at CR, LOL? I know that should be obvious, but I've never had to do this before, so I've never even looked for it or noticed. Is there a ticket sales desk at the resort?

Well no matter if you check-in online or in person it's done at the Contemporary lobby, since there is no check-in desk at Bay Lake Tower. Anyway when I stayed at the Contemporary this past August there was a seperate check-in line for those who did online check-in, because there was a sign saying that. Anyway if you can not add the 3rd persons KTTW card when you pick everything, I guess you can try the Concierge desk which is at the other end of where the online check-in desk is located.

Yes, the concierge desk behind the check-in is where you will need to go after you check-in at the online check-in queue.

Just got back a few days ago from a four day stay at the CR. Wife and I were booked for theme park view on the Atrium Level 12th floor. We had hoped for a king bed but there is only one on that floor and its on the Bay Lake side. But the person at check in was able to give us room 4848 in the corner which was breathtaking. I liked the concierge lounge, nice having snacks. And the people that kept it stocked were great. I did not like the concierges up there though. On my first night. I showered before the fireworks, and my big toe just brushed up against one of the legs of the sink and took a big chunk out of my toe. It took about 30 minutes to get it to stop bleeding and hurt like hell. Well afterwards my wife had me hobble to the concierge desk with her and speak to Auriella ( I think that was her name) to tell her what happened. Our main concern was that it would be fixed, I don't want this to happen to anyone else. She kind of dismissed it and said she would talk to the manager and they would call. For the rest of our trip no one called and no one fixed the leg on the sink. I just hope no one else gets hurt. It did put a bit of a damper on our trip. My wife is in a wheelchair and I walking on that toe for the rest of the trip was extremely painful. Now let me move away from that bad experience. Mousekeeping was great. They noticed that we shared a bed by the window so they put all our pillows on that one bed, it was great. Room was spotless everyday. I tipped them 5 dollars a day and 8 on the last. They work so hard and since we were alreaday paying so much for our stay its a no brainer to tip them. We also dined at Contempo a few times for late night snacks. The turkey sandwich is crazy good. My wife and I still crave it. Pool was excellent. We preferred the one by the lake, it was less crowded. But both were clean and the lifeguards were really friendly and on the ball. We think next time we stay we are going to stay Garden View with a patio, that way we can just walk to the pool. We loved our pool time so much. We would go to the park in the morning, come back midafternoon for the pool. And then go back for fireworks and parade at night. And the monorail people were great about helping my wife on and off. My wife was anti disney, and caved for me. Now we are going back in February. She is Contemporary for Life. I will post more later. Any questions just ask. We loved it.

Thanks so much for the report! :goodvibes Sounds like overall you had a great time and congrats on going back in February! Sorry to hear about your toe experience 'though. I was wondering, if you don't mind me asking, did your wife use an electric wheelchair while you were there? Also, did she find the CR to be comfortable to get around in? I ask because my wife and I are lifetime fans of the Contemporary and before too long she will likely need a chair to get around.

Thanks for posting your review and sorry to hear about your wifes toe and I hope she is getting better.

It was a standard wheelchair and we had no problem getting her in and out of things. The only problem we had was my toe, but as I said that was unexpected.

As to anyone curious of the configuration of this room... there are six rooms in the Garden Wing that are like this, all on the first floor on the outer fringes of the building. Due to the shape of the room and a main entrance door that is not typical, the room is configured differently with two queens (there is one king room, I think) and two chairs + ottoman. The room itself is basically the same size as a standard room, just configured differently to accommodate its unique features (additional windows/alternative main door location).

They are considered Garden View, Garden Wing Rooms - and all have views of the lake/water bridge. They are the exception to the rule when it comes to the daybeds.

Above these rooms on the second and third floor are one bedroom suites, and are configured somewhat similarly... more furniture and more sleeping accommodations given their size.

Alas, all of my photos of Garden Wing Room 6108 (one of the corner "mystery" rooms) were after we "spread out." I can confirm that this room had two queen beds (which were incredibly comfortable), two windows (one of which was a sliding glass door to the patio, the other faced bay lake), two chairs and an ottoman. The bay lake window was to the left of the flat screen television. The sliding glass door and patio faced the canal to Seven Seas Lagoon.

We also had a movable glass-topped table but no day bed. There was a desk (where the late lamented computer terminal sat) along the wall opposite the patio door.

The door to the room entered into a small foyer where the refrigerator within a cabinet on which sat the coffee maker and glasses. The closet was in the foyer as was the door to the bathroom.

We were upgraded from a standard room.

I have posted photographs of the patio before but here is one I don't think I have posted.

Did you have a room with a roll in shower? My trip is at the end of the month (checking in to Atrium Club on the 25th) and we have an accessible room with a roll in shower reserved. I am wondering if it will be the same room you had (since there is only 1 on that floor).

We'll be staying at the CR for the first time in December with two 7 year old twin boys - first visit for the boys.

We would like advice on what room to request in the wing. I have read that only the first floor rooms have patios. Should we request first floor? Which room in particular? Or Side? Any preferences are appreciated.

Also do any of the rooms have a king bed vs. two queens? Are any of the rooms larger than the others? I would love some links to your Garden Wing rooms.

Really getting excited!!!

Oh and one last question...where do people like to go for breakfast? We are thinking we might to Chef Mickey's one morning for the kids, but for the others should we do counter service (I'm forgetting the restuarant name) or The Wave?

Thanks a bunch!

Kate

I would recommend Chef Mickey's one morning for the experience of it. As for The Wave which is their other table service restaurant and the Contempo Cafe which is their counter service location, why don't you look at their breakfast menus and see what items you might like. There are links to their menus on the 1st page in the restaurant section.

I hope this isn't a stupid question...I know December might or might not be swimming weather. Should we bring bathing suits anyway? Are the pools at the CR heated if it is cold out?

Thanks

K

I would bring bathing suits because last December it was warm a lot of the days we were there and others were in the pool.

We were there last December and someone in our party swam every day. It was terrific weather. The garden wing is very convenient to the pool/hot tub. We loved our stay! We ate at the Contempo Cafe for breakfast several mornings but also took the monorail over to the counter service at the Poly and had Mickey waffles and stuffed French toast! Yum! I would do Chef Mickey's for your boys for the experience although Crystal Palace for breakfast is our fave.

Have a magical trip!

I forgot to mention in my previous reply that their pools are heated if it's cold outside.

No we had a regular room, my wife has poly neuropathy, its a nerve disease in her feet that causes extreme pain to walk on. She can walk short distances. Like from a bed to shower, or vice versa. Its anything over twenty feet that would be too much for her.

Does anyone know where and how many rooms they have with roll in showers that have a Magic Kingdom view. I have one reserved at the end of November
