Hi, all,

Tried to check the first page and did a search, but could not find the information I am looking for. I read that a studio at BLT is only 300 sq ft? Any one know is this is correct? That is mighty small - barely larger than a value room.

This morning we booked a Bay lake View Studio, but if that is the room size will be quite disappointed!

Thanks so much!

Hi :)

We have been looking into the BLT as a vacation investment ourselves. The numbers I have seen on a studio have ranged from 300 to 346 square ft. The DVC website says that it varies slightly due to various locations within the BLT structure.

Craig's site is a great resource for BLT photos and some DVC info., too.

I have read some complaints/reviews of the Studios that mention that they are just too small and having to brush your teeth next to the kitchen was not desirable (the sink is outside of the bathroom).

Thanks to both posters!

....300 would be ridiculous...I mean a value resort is 260 with smaller furniture. Wonder if there is a way to know which location would have the larger room size. Read today the studios are 359, but reading this, I doubt that is correct.

I did see the bathroom sink is in the kitchen - very odd and a bit disgusting. Glad we do not use the kitchen on vacation! Thanks for the link!

I am sooo excited called a couple of days ago and got 7/4 deal applied to my current ressie at CR with a few glitches but finally got it done! Tonight I called back to add my request for 11th floor odd#'d room and the CM asked me if I was a little OCD I replied yes but I am also a disser!! :thumbsup2 I then started working on my trip plan as the hours are out now and when I remembered that I am at CR and only a monorail ride away I got even more excited. I can't wait!!!:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

You're welcome. I have heard great reviews about the 1-bedroom at BLT.

Here are some other links for BLT info:

http://dvc.disney.go.com/dvc/miniSite/index?name=CrystalMiniSitePage
Click-on "360 Room Tour" and choose "Studio," it's on the far left of the room layout.

Thanks, WDWKOOK! I have those too - big difference between a one bedroom and studio at most DVC resorts, but BLT is the worst..imho. Would rather be over in the CR Tower.

Wow! That is fabulous!! :woohoo:

Okay, so we're considering upgrading from a mod (CBR) to the Contemporary for our May/June (May 31-June 6) trip. I do have a concern about the crowds at the resort (I know what the parks are like that time of year). Has the opening of BLT made the Contemporary feel more crowded or are the two still relatively separate? Also, how tough is it to get to the monorail from the garden ring (last time we stayed on the monorail was at the Poly in 1994)

When my family and I were staying there this past August, Bay Lake Tower had opened 2 weeks earlier and I can honestly say we didn't notice any more crowds because of it.

As for getting to the Monorail station from the Garden Wing rooms is very easy. Just walk to the back entrance of the lobby and take the two esclators that go to the 4th floor or take the elevator to the 4th floor and you will see the Monorail station.

Greetings from the CR - 12th Floor Bay Lake View :banana:

Having a wonderful stay so far (3 days in of 13) - I'll be checking in on this thread a few times if I can, so if anyone has any questions or wants any photos, ask away and I'll try to help.

To answer a few recent questions (some were mine!)

1) wi-fi service is available in the Atrium Club rooms and lounge of the but the signal is not very strong (coming from the 14th I think), so it depends on your laptop (my MacBookPro is picking up 2 bars of 4 and the service is fine). It's $5/hr or $10/24hrs (continuous)

2) there is same day and next day laundry service from the room

3) we cannot hear any noise at all from Chef Mickeys, even though we are pretty much right above it.

4) The Concierges have been excellent so far and the food selection pretty amazing.

5) Sunrise/sunset over Bay Lake is STUNNING!

Cheers!

Loving your live report. We'll be staying 12th floor at CR for the first time  11/9 and I love hearing what it's like from those who are currently there. Glad things are going well!!:thumbsup2 If you get the chance, keep the live reports coming.

Thanks for the update! :cool1:

If you get a chance I wouldn't mind a current picture of the pool area as seen from your room...after you get back would be fine. Do you seem to notice any extra crowds from BLT? I'm guessing not but the new dynamic is interesting. Thanks again! :goodvibes

I actually have a current picture of the pool area from this past August.

Aloha,

Appears quite a few of us DISers are currently aboard CR!

I apologize if the following info is old news. I have not had the time to read previous posts. A few notes of interest:

1. The Atrium Club breakfast is actually ready to go by 6:30 AM vice 7 AM. the Runner Manuel is exceptionally dedicated in providing superior service.

2. Laundry. No longer coin operated. Requires a KTTW card with a credit card charge account. It basically costs $5 a load. $1 for laundry detergent and $2 each for a washer (26 minutes) and dryer (45 minutes).

3. The CMs will glady get you small bottled water if none is available out on the line.

4. The Atrium Club CMs are very professional, can-do and personable. A great bunch. Al, Holly, and the gang are truly outstanding.

5. Staying in room 4847 which is the closest to the MK with the foot of the beds facing the MK. IMHO the best room on the 12th Floor. The children go to sleep and wake up with a direct view of the MK. Took of the advice of y'all DIS'ers and asked for an odd numbered room!

6. Comparing the GF and CR views of MK. Stayed at Conch Key two years ago. Had a view of the top of the Castle. Here at CR have a view of the entire castle and the vast majority of the park. Significant improvement.

7. CM and CC. CM was a BIG let down compared to two years ago. My son's b-day celebration two years ago featured an autographed CM placemat, a specially decorated table and all of the characters were present when the family sang happy birthday. This year only a lighted cup cake. And it is suppose to be the year of "celebration." Don't think so. Contempo Cafe has exceeded our expectations. Great food for counter service. Relaxing atmosphere.

8. Twilight Zone. Both us and the room next door (4846) are from the same town of Mililani, Hawaii. Although we don't know each other! Also ran into one of our New Hope church pastors (Elwin) at DTD T-Rex Cafe Tuesday night! Stranger than fiction.

Check out Saturday and check into AKL for seven nights. Aloha.

Thanks for posting that amazing detailed report and it's great you had a wonderfull time. :thumbsup2

I also agree with you how great Manuel is, because he arrives for work everyday at 4:00 AM to start getting everything ready for breakfast. Al is another great Cast Member who has helped us out in the past.

Finally in August 2007 my family and I stayed in room #4847 and it is one of their best rooms with the Magic Kingdom View.
