We are staying at the CR Dec 12-19th. We have a garden wing room but are looking forward to watching the fireworks some nights from the our hotel.

The fourth floor observation deck is open to the public correct?

Is it a fairly popular spot? I was wondering if we need to scope out a spot fairly early so that we can have a great view of the MK. If so, how far in advance of the fireworks do we need to be there?

TIA

Yes the 4th floor observation deck is open to anyone who wants to watch Wishes from there. So if you want to get a spot close to the front I would say to get there 20 - 30 minutes before Wishes starts.

I would say at least 30 min. Maybe 45 min ahead of time if you'd like a seat. They play the music for Wishes! out there. Grab a coffee/cocoa/drink and a dessert and have a little snack while you wait.

When I was there this past August they took away the two benches, so everyone must now stand and that's why I said if you want to stand close to the front in my previous reply. I guess I should have been more clear about that.

Thanks for the info. I had seen pictures with benches and had assumed they were still there.

If you get a chance I wouldn't mind a current picture of the pool area as seen from your room...after you get back would be fine. Do you seem to notice any extra crowds from BLT? I'm guessing not but the new dynamic is interesting.

Hi,

The place certainly doesen't feel crowded in the building at the monorail or by the pool but I really wouldn't know for sure since the last time I was at the CR was 1984!

As for the pool pic I have one but I need another post so see below...

Cheers!

hope these work! Off for some more yummy potstickers! :)

Thank you very much...those are great pictures. :cloud9:

That's one of the many benefits of CR...either side is a fantastic view. Also makes it hard for me to choose each time. That's why I might have to go ahead and start hitting the concierge levels...I can get a room with a bay lake view like yours while being a few steps away from a nice park viewing area. Thanks too CR Resort Fan for your pic...I forgot you had posted that one when you got back...appreciate the re-post.

Hi All-

Just checking in again, we leave for our CR Theme Park view in 17 days

Couple of questions:

Is the coffee maker in the room a 4-cup kind?
If we get breakfast at the Contempo Cafe, can it be brought back up to the room? (I'm thinking this would be a good idea especially with our little ones)
How long of a walk is it to MK?
If we bring a small dvd player can it be hooked up to the tv? or is there one already in the room?

I'm sure I'll have more questions as we get closer. Thank you in advance for the answers.

:cool1:

I know this is only an answer to one question but yes you can bring food back to the room from Contempo Cafe.

Yes, the coffee maker is the 4-cup kind that comes with the little coffee-filled pod.

The walk from the Tower to the MK is about 10 minutes.

I'm fairly certain you can hook the DVD player up to the TV. I think there is a plug in the front where the setting control panel is located.

Have a great vacation!

Yes the coffee maker is a 4 cup kind, food from the Contempo Cafe can be brought up to your room, I found the walk to the Magic Kingdom to be around 10 minutes and there are outlets on the TV, so you can always try to hook up the small DVD Player. Of course I have no idea if it will work.

I'm posting this thread here because I think someone will have an answer.

The OP stayed in 6124 - a GW corner room with two sets of windows, 2 queens, no sofa, no daybed, but 2 chairs and an ottoman!

Well I am looking at a map of the Contemporary and that room appears to be in the back of the Garden Wing rooms, where it says 1st floor 6101-6130. If you look at the 1st page of the thread you can see the same thing on the map which is posted there.

Have you heard of this type of room/furniture configuration? This is a first for me.
