Gotta give a shoutout to the Concierge at CR! Several weeks ago, I put in a request to do the Wildlife Safari excursion, and this morning around 7:30am I got an email confirmation that IPO had booked it for us as today was the 90 day window for bookings! Woo hoo! And it also had our ADRs on there... I am always pleased with the CR IPO staff! Now, if the next 90 days would fly so I could get back to the CR and my 14th FL room as I love staying there when the world is all decked out for Christmas, it's truly the most magical place! :santa:

When checking in, does a CM meet you outside or do you have to go inside to the front desk? A CM has always greeted us outside at the bell stand at the GF and the YC. I was just wondering if it was the same at CR. TIA:flower3:
When checking in tell a Cast Member working outside the bell stand you have a Club Level reservation, then they will call for one of the Club Level Cast Members to meet you and take you up to check-in. Also just incase you are arriving there at 10:00 PM or later that's when the Club Level Cast Members go home for the evening, so you would need to check-in downstairs in the lobby.

That's great to hear. :thumbsup2

When we were there in June, I assume the guardshack called ahead with our name, because by the time we got to the front door, someone from concierge was already outside. As we got out of the truck, she said you must be the Edwards Family, come with me. I knew then it would be a great 7 days. She whisked us upstairs, where the family took advantage of the lounge and afternoon snacks, while i checked us into the room.

You must be thinking of the bell desk because in all my families Club Level stays the Cast Member at the guard gate have never called ahead, it has always been the Cast Members at the bell stand that called ahead.

Thanks again CR. So it seems that the CL procedure is basically the same at all the resorts. I know we have over 300 days left to go but I like to be well prepared.:rotfl:

We are switching from POR to the Contemporary in the middle of our trip. My question is, when should I check in? Should I wait until the afternoon once we are finished with the parks, or should I go over in the morning before we hit the parks? (we will have our own vehicle)

You're welcome and I agree it's great to know everything before you arrive.

Have you thought about using the online check-in, so you can basically go there whenever your ready.

I will be at CR in less than 30 days, I will be staying for just a couple of days.
I will be in the tower, with a bay view, should I put in some type of room request? It is my first time at CR.

Personally I would ask to be higher, cause I think the view is better (although some say its the some on the lower floors) and then if you have light sleepers in your party, ask to be on the opposite side of Chef Mickey's, because some claim they can hear the noise and others claim they don't hear a thing...
Have a magical trip!

Mike,

I would request an odd-numbered room on the 11th floor away from CM. Your bed will not face BLT, but will instead face toward Epcot/FW/WL.

We prefer the BL view because there isn't a parking lot beneath you;).

Have a great visit!

When we did a split stay (with our own car) from Poly-CR, we checked-in after breakfast so that if we weren't pleased with the room location, we could have bell services store our luggage and the CM could put us in a more desirable room when it became available. As it turned-out, our room was actually ready (and in our requested location) at 10 AM.

I'd prefer to not check-in late because I think it reduces your chances of getting the location you want since more rooms have filled-up as the day goes on.

During my families most recent stay with the Bay Lake View we had a room where the beds faced Bay Lake Tower, however I thought it was intresting to see it. Also I was able to see the location where their elevators are located, so I got to see how busy each floor was and how long some guests waited for them.

Here is a picture I took of Contemporary with my BlackBerry while on the walkway to the Magic Kingdom.

Well CR Fan, you've taken people watching to the next level... elevator watching! Which is very cool. I'm putting that on my to-do on my next trip! :lmao: :lmao:

Well I wasn't doing it on purpose, lol. I happen to be looking at Bay Lake Tower one night after Wishes and noticed that on there was a lot of guests waiting on most of their floors.

i read that check-in is at 3pm. can you request early checkin prior to arrival or do you just arrive and hope they have a room ready? we like to drive at night so we may get there as early as 10am. what are the chances we could check in that early?

You can check-in anytime you want before 3:00 PM, so it's a 50/50 chance that your room might or might not be ready when you arrive.
