That's all the pics for now on this thread, but be on the lookout on the CR photos thread for lots more.

I also wanted to add a few things about our trip. If anyone has any doubts about this resort feeling Disney or being old-don't! I thought I might feel it would be out of date. But it is far from that. The rooms are so nicely decorated. Our room was extremely clean. The beds are so comfortable. We liked the double sinks and how the bathroom has sliding doors with the shower and toliet separate and plently of room to get dressed. The desk was nice because it gave me so much room to put all my stuff! The safe was big-and no key to lose! The balcony was huge! The kids thought the electrical parade was funny. Right after we watched Wishes on the CL balcony(they pipe in the music), we went to our room and watched the electric parade. This was a real magical night for our family. Lots of nice memories. Of course the monorail was nice, but the bus stop was easy to get to and not to fair to walk to. The walkway was great, too. I didn't think I would use it, but it is a real quick walk. I would most definitely stay here agan and would recommed this resort to everyone!

Agreed 100% with everything you said.

Thank you for posting some of your great pictures. It's nice to hear that you had a great trip. The BL view is also our favorite, but since you're CL, you can still see Wishes from the lounge, which is great.

:sail:We're all on the look-out for more of your photos (loved the BLT "spy" photo!)

Thanks for the wonderful pics, my family and I love the CR and my DD just wants to go there everytime we go to Disney for her there is not other place to stay. I'll check later to see the other pics.:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Hi all!! :goodvibes

We are back from an AMAZING stay at the CR!! We were in the Garden Wing, room 5340. It was the top floor, tucked away in a little corner, overlooking the garden and the canal. It was SO QUIET!!!! We adored the hotel and had great service by all!!! Turndown everynight (I called to request it on our first day), a white chocolate monorail delievered on DS's bday, a couple of towel animals here and there. DS was VERY happy to finally get to stay at the monorail hotel! We both agreed that we need to bring Daddy back one of these trips!!

We normally stay at the GF, and while this is VERY DIFFERENT, I can safely say that it is our 2nd favorite resort now (a position once held by AKL). Being able to walk to MK is by far and away, one of the best perks EVER!!! :worship: We left our room on the third floor, took the elevator down and walked to the front gate of MK in 7-8 minutes- not too shabby!!! And of course, being the first stop on the monorail leaving is pretty darn nice too! ;)

The bus service was great (never waited more than 10 minutes, even for a DTD one) and we always got lucky at the parks waiting less than 5. We shared with the Poly, but we were always the first stop (so we got seats every time).

For the DME users, CR is still the last stop (we shared with the Poly, GF and WL) but still were at the CR within 1 hour 15 minutes of landing. We shared with only the WL for our return trip, but that might have been since we had such a late flight out. Our bus pick up was 5:55pm for an 8:55pm flight.

There was no line for check in since the front desk was fully staffed. We arrived around 11:15am.

The pool work continues and I doubt the little kid area will be open for at least another 3-4 weeks. They worked daily on it, but it seems slow going. Quiet pool was open when we were there, but we stuck to the main pool and the big slide.

Campfire on the beach is fun!!!!!!!!!! $7 for a smore kit (marshmallows, chocolate bars and graham crakers) or $3 for just a bag of marshmallows. We tried to come back another night to use the rest of them (sticks are free of charge ;)) but it wasn't running that night. It seems to run most nights of the week though.

I have the Private Dining Menu, but it seems Craig already posted it on his site (Thanks Craig!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) It is way more extensive than the old All Ears menu.

We ate at Cali Grille, Chef Mickey's breakfast and the Contempo for breakfast and dinner once. There were staff members around at dinner time to help guests figure out how to use the kiosks if necessary. It is pretty user friendly, just remember to take your slip after you order and THEN pay so you get your buzzer to tell you when it is done.

Outer Rim is open, but smaller. Also the Chef Mickey's work is finished. They have changed the queue so people shouldn't be hanging over the wall at the Contempo looking in (and vice versa) since only the line to check in and the photo area are near the Contempo now.

CR Fan, I asked in BVG about BLT items that wouldn't be DVC specific and they didn't have any details yet. She said the merchandise probably wouldn't show up until right as it opens. Sorry!!!

It was hotter than hot (95 air temps, with a real feel of 110-115 most of the week :scared1:) but the crowds were VERY manageable. We did rope drop most days and stuck with TGM's best park and used FPs for everything we could. The key was ALOT of water and to alternate anything outside followed by something inside in the A/C. Not sure if the moderate crowd level was due to the economy or just going before the summer crowds really settled in :confused3 But it was WAY busier on our last day than our first. Example- PotC had a 30 minute line at 11am on our last day when it was always 20 or less the days leading up to it.

Lastly, for the Star Wars fans out there, you MUST try SWW one time! It is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We saw all of the characters and DS was picked for Jedi Training Academy. :yay: And of course, the Hyperspace Hoopla at the end of the day is HILARIOUS!!! (YouTube it ;))

If anyone else has any questions, fire away! I will answer to the best of my ability! Thanks to everyone for all the great advice I received here in the weeks leading up to our trip!!!!!!!!!!!!! :worship:

Cinderumbrella, glad you had a great time. We just got back too and loved it! How did your surprise for your kids go? I agree with your comments about the Star Wars Weekends. They're great!

I was surprised how crowded it was in the parks! I also wish the parks stayed open later. I mean MK closing at 10pm the Saturday we were there was crazy!

We'll be staying for 2 weeks.

Will we get a schedule for 2 weeks right away, or have to go to the front desk on the second week?

See, and we didn't think it was too crowded at all :confused3 (But I had visions of wall to wall people too!!) MK closed at midnight or later most nights we were there (or at least the nights we wanted to go...)

The surprise was AWESOME! I think I posted about his reaction a few pages back (I think you had already left when I did). He was stunned silent (which never happens to my little chatterbox! :rotfl:) When he read the note out loud that said "We are going to Disney World on Tuesday..." he looked at us and said "Who is??"

I am already angling to go back next year for SWW again- it was too awesome not to do twice!!!!!!!! (And so far DH is on board for another mother/son get away... I think he enjoyed HIS alone time as much as we enjoyed ours ;)) But first I need to get through December's trip... I am not allowed to talk about 2 trips at the same time :rolleyes1

We'll be staying for 2 weeks.

Will we get a schedule for 2 weeks right away, or have to go to the front desk on the second week?

The schedule is for one week. So you will need to go to the desk to get another one (or 2) when yours expires. For example, we arrived on a Tuesday and our schedule started the previous Sunday, I believe.

I do have pics that will I try to upload onto the photo thread this week of some stuff around the resort....

Cinderumbrella,
Thank you so much for posting that amazing and very detailed trip report, so it's great to read how you both had wonderfull time. Also thanks for giving the update about the kids splash play area and I for asking about the merchandice for Bay Lake Tower at the Bay View Gifts store. I had assumed that chances are the Cast Members would not know anything until the day it opens, so we just got to wait and see.

Hey guys, just joining up on this thread. Just took the leep and joined DVC at BLT. Looking forward to staying so close to the MK.

Hey resort fan, we are both from T.O., I was wondering how you get down to Orlando for your trips?
