I thought I read that the rooms had DVD players. Is that right?

The only rooms with DVD players are the Club Level rooms on the 12th and 14th floors.

For my First visit to Comtempory, I am in the Tower with theme park view. I 'd like my bed to look at the Castle. Is it odd number I request? How far in advance do I ask?

Also our room has accessible bathroom with grab bars etc. (Not roll in shower room) are any of those rooms with beds facing the castle?

If you want an odd number room I would call right now to make the request and hope that it works out.

As for your other question I am not sure about that, so hopefully someone else will be able to answer it.

I would call CRO because the Contemporary won't get your information and requests until few days before you check-in, which is when they assign your room.

Also maybe in December we will run into each other, because my family and I are checking in on the 12th.

I just called the Contempory about requesting an odd number room. They told me the reservation wouldn't be in the computer until Dec 4/09 for our Dec 13/09 checkin.

Was I given the correct information?

correct. Your reservation will "download" into CR's system about a week before arrival. Otherwise, the CR will not see your ressie. Call 407-W-DISNEY and make the request. Thats CRO (central reservation office). If a travel agent made your ressie, they would need to call to add the request. Just FYI.

Charleyann There is a twofold answer to this...the reservation doesnt go to the room assigners at the individual hotel until I think about 5 days prior to arrival... BUT... you should have your preferences noted on your general reservation now( and which you can do at any time) so it will be noted on there before your resort assigner recieves it...HTH...

I noticed you are in Canada. If the phone call costs $$, you can email WDW the request and they will add it and respond back. Here is the link.

Their number is 407-W-DISNEY (407-934-7639) and CRO is the central reservations number when making reservations.

Hopefully your request will happen.

However if it does not at least you will still have the Magic Kingdom, so not being able to see it from the bed won't be so bad.

I forgot to mention when you called the Contemporary earlier you were actually calling a call centre, that is able to take calls for the Contemporary. In fact let's say your at the Contemporary and called the front desk from your in room phone, your actually calling the call centre. I have read they only send your call to the Contemporary if it's a really important matter.

I have no idea where it's located.

-Push "Power" button and down arrow at the same time
-LCD screen should now read "BP" (you are now in bypass mode)
-Use up/down arrows to set room to desired temperature

(FYI - this must be done ever 48 hours or so, as the system will default to automatic sensor mode)

This might be the best thing I have learned here yet!!!!!!!!!

So it's just been about 24 hours since we returned from our 8 day stay at CR. We LOVED it!!!

I took lots of photos and will try to share some later.
We were on the 7th floor and although we had a "Bay view" room I really feel like we got the best there was because our room was the very last one nearest the park and BLT, so we had an amazing view of MK as we walked towards our room and right from the door going into our room. So it was the best of both worlds...we could see MK from the air conditioning, or hit the balcony and see the bay and everything around there. We also had great views of BLT being right beside it and could see into rooms that had open curtains.
