We are back from our trip to the World and it was amazing. We were in the Garden Wing, Garden View and while I was completely worried about missing the Atrium Club, I was not disappointed. We did online check in. When we got off ME a CM took us right in and took care of everything! Our room was ready at noon and we were so happy when we got there! The view was so peaceful and we got our request of a 1st floor room!

We did miss the Atrium Club but we loved the location of our room. We also were very lucky. Our 2nd night there something was going on with the elevators and people had been waiting 40 minutes (large strollers so no choice but to wait). We just folded up the strolled, grabbed the kids and did the escalators and were back in our room in no time! Also, we could go right out and be at the pool. Even without the Theme Park View we all seem to agree we liked the Garden Wing better :cool1:

We also were able to get over to BLT and view the model units there. We just bought into DVC at OKW and wanted to check it out. We love it and hope one day to get in there for a stay.

That is so good to know WsPrincess! We are doing a night at The Garden wing, Garden View room and the fact that we are so near to the pool has really sold it for us. I remember seeing The Contemporary on TV when I was a child and saying "I'm going to stay there one day". Well, in a few weeks I'll be there! So excited:cool1:

Hello, I have spent the last few days reading over all the great information you guys have provided on this thread (thanks!). I finally signed up as a user today to start asking more questions and get all the helpful information I can for our first family vacation!!!

We are planning our trip for Nov 2013 and are very interested in staying at the CR. Our children at the time of travel will be 4 and 3. Here are some question I have from the start:

1-What is the best way to book our trip (we are in the US) should we just go through Disney?

2-How can we save? Discounts? Open a Disney CC? American AA card?

3-Any tips for those who have traveled with young kids, please give me any advice you have.

4-Walk or take the monorail? I have heard walking really is not that bad.

5-Stroller for the kids or do parents find they just want to walk and end up dragging the stroller around? Where to rent a stroller?

6-Chef Mickey dinner? Are there set times for this? We are a early dinner type of family (example 5pm) how do we book a dinner to meet Mickey?

7-MK view room or Bay Lake view? If you have the Bay Lake view do you get to see the sun set? If you have a MK view what time does the firework show start?

8-Splash pads or zero entry pools at CR? Although our kids have been in swimming lessons neither know how to swim.

9-Flight cost, this seems to be so costly. We will be coming from Dallas Texas and all the prices we have checked seem so high (1300 for four RT)

Sorry for all the questions. I am just really excited about planning our first trip and I want it to be really special. I am not sure when we will be able to go again. Thanks so much!

Hey - I can't answer many of your questions, because Nov 2013 will be our 1st family WDW Trip, staying at CR as well. We will be flying from Houston. Not sure if SWA has a hub in Dallas, but we opened a SWA VISA last year and received enough miles (upon 1st purchase) that our flights will be free. That's one way to save a bit of $. We are a family of 3.

Oh, those darn CR elevators, when will they ever get them all fixed?

Thank you for your post. It's great for others to read that staying in the Garden Wing, especially after staying CL, isn't bad like some think it might be.

This has probably been answered somewhere but my little one(6yrs old) is asking if she can go on the slide at the resort pool. Does anyone know if there are restrictions?

My ds5 was able to- (I waited at the end to scoop him up- but he can swim underwater).

The CR has a splash area. Not zero entry pool, though. They can bring flotation devices to the pool to use.

I like both views- Bay Lake overlooks the pool and Bay Lake, MK has the theme park and the other MK resorts. Firework times vary according to season. I think Bay Lake has a sunrise view.

YES to stroller for young children. We have always brought our own but they can be rented at the parks.

Book Chef Mickey through Disney Dining.

do you have pictures of your room?

Yes I do! It looked identical to our Atrium Club Magic Kingdom View room (except for the patio :rotfl2:)

Here you go:

Does anyone know if they are still tye dying shirts with kids at BLT? Our DD keeps hoping she can do that over Labor Day.

Good Morning everyone. We checked into BLT yesterday and of course the resort is great. We are in a 1 brdm villa LV (inner circle) over what I believe are bocce ball courts. Just opposite of where we were in 2010. The room is in good shape. A few things here and there but nothing major. Well, going to Epcot so I will report back later. :flower3:

Yeah, we just played shuffleboard on last trip. I might need to introduce my children to that side as well. Have a great trip.

I read over the first few pages, I then am still curious to know about the view from Atrium Magic Kingdom View. I Just called in today and reserved my MK Atrium Club Level 12th Floor Room with two queens beds. I was wondering if anyone has had the same room type and can link me to pictures and tell me was there easy location's, like how far laundry was from that area. Where is the closest CL lounge? What are some of the other perks besides what I can read about that come with CL Level Treatment?

Thank you to whoever is kind enough to respond.

Did online check-in for July 3-5 split stay - 1 night Atrium Club, 1 night Garden Wing! :cool1:

One question - can dining plan mugs be filled at the Sand Bar or only in Contempo Cafe?

We stayed in a MK Atrium Club room in January, the view is fantastic and all the MK view rooms are on the same side of the building as the lounge. Basically the Club Lounge is in the middle of the one side of the building and the MK view rooms are on both sides of the lounge.
The laundry is not in the main building so it is a bit of a walk to get there.
You will love the CR and your room :-)

We stayed in this exact kind of room last week. I posted a picture a couple pages back of our view. We were 2 rooms from the lounge and the view was PERFECT! When we checked in we were given the choice of a room further from the lounge or waiting a little bit for this room with the better view. I am SO GLAD we waited. The lounge is HUGE and the balcony there is nice to visit for the fireworks too (though you won't need to). We loved it there and I really hope we get a chance to stay there again.

We are arriving July 13th and were booked in WL CL, but have been upgraded to CR CL and was wondering if anybody can recommend where we should eat the first night with two boys 10 and 14, we won't be getting in until 4

thanks

Whispering Canyon Cafe at WL is fun. Another option would be Kona at the Poly. Both good choices for an evening near your resort!
