Just found out this week that DW is getting sent to CR for a conference in March and guess who is tagging along!!!!! We extended our stay by 2 nights at the conference rate so now we get 5 nights and are only paying for 2, and for less than 1 night rack rate!!

CANNOT WAIT!!!!!
I hope you have a great time.

Yeah for conferences at the CR :thumbsup2 DH has one in Sept and we're definitely gonna tag along and make the most of it. Those conference rates were great, allowing us to stay at the CR for cheaper than a mod:lovestruc (plus DH's boss picks up most of the tab anyway:wizard:)

Have a great time and let us know how it goes:goodvibes

Hey Guys,

UK Diser here!

For our 2012 Holiday, we're checking into the CR for TWO WEEKS (TWO WEEKS, BABY!) We're staying in a Garden View room; we know that we do not want to be on the bottom floor. We want to be able to add some room requests to our reservation so can you CR experts suggest which are the better room locations and why?

Thank you so very much for all your help.

Well you can call the Disney Reservation Center and make a request of a room on the 2nd or 3rd floor of the Garden Wing. Plus since a lot of others might request a 1st floor room to get that patio, then it's a very chance you should be able to get what you want.

Thanks for this. So, which are the better rooms to ask for? Are some better than others? Are there any which you can see the electrical water pagent from? Which rooms are closer to the tower?

Since it looks like that you reserved a Garden Wing - Garden View you can request a room that over looks Bay Lake, so you can see the Electrical Water Pagent from there. However I can't say which rooms would be closer to the Tower since I never stayed in that section before, although I guess you can request as close to the Tower as possible.

I will definitely let you know how it is!!

I don't post very often, but I am always "here" for anyone who wants to chat about the CR!! I will sing its praises to all who will listen!! LOVE LOVE LOVE it and a day doesn't go by when I don't think about the two magical stays we have had at CR. It will be a while before we are able to return, but when I dream of future trips, I know where I'll be staying! LOL!!

Can't believe this thread has gone 10 days without a post.
Thanks for bumping us:thumbsup2

I'm here, too:yay: and I have some CR NEWS!

Yesterday, I finally straightened out our summer 25th anniversary trip. We'll be staying 7 nights at BWI/CL and then 6 nights at the Atrium Club/BLV (our favorite view). We've stayed many times at the CR, but DH was deployed when DD and I stayed at the Atrium Club back in 2010. He's really excited to be returning to his favorite WDW view and room and trying out their CL. I also re-booked our spring break trip so we'll be staying 8 nights at WL/CL. Can you tell I'm excited?:goodvibes

How is everyone's WDW planning going?

August will be our first stay at CR. We are staying in a Standard Atrium Club Level room. Are any rooms/floor better than others to request?
Thanks.

Hi, Bill. If you think the "Celebration" music from Chef Mickey's might bother you, then request "Away from Chef Mickey's." If you want your beds to be facing toward Epcot/FW/Garden Wing and not towards BLT, then request an "Odd numbered room." Other than those requests, you're already guaranteed to be on the 12th floor because you booked the Atrium Club and you've booked a STD View which is a Bay Lake View (why they don't just say that, I don't know). So you can't request a floor and all the rooms in the Tower are identical in their configuration and they all have a balcony.

I know you're going to love the CR!

Remember a while ago you were wondering if you or me would ever be returning to stay at the Contemporary again, we now know the answer to that. Anyway I hope you have a great time staying there and hopefully you will enjoy a lot more compared to the last time you stayed there.

:rotfl:

Well, DD and I did stay at the CR right before Christmas 2010. We then moved over to WL for 8 nights. I think your last stay was August 2010, when we had rooms next to each other, and didn't even know it. I hope the Atrium Club staff do a better job than last time, too. DH has never tried it, but he loves the CR so I'm willing to give it one more try.

Yes August 2010 was the last time I stayed there and I still can't believe we got rooms right next to each other and didn't know that or see each other in the lounge.
