I am so excited! I've booked a Bay Lake Tower room for October and I cannot wait! :yay: I have wanted to stay here for 40 years, ever since I first rode the monorail through the resort in 1972 when I was 5. I have spent all day reading the whole thread and have loved all the great pictures and helpful info!
WOW! You've waited a long time - congratulations on booking! What room view did you book?

I'm getting more excited by the day!!! Less than a month until our very first stay at a monorail resort, BLT!!!!!!!:cool1::yay:
Yippee! It won't be long now. Have you ever tried The Wave's breakfast buffet? I highly recommend it.

Thanks! Yep I've been 15 times since that first visit but the CR was always more money than I wanted to spend. Thanks to a great discount I'm finally getting to stay there :)

I booked the Tower with a Bay Lake View. The discount I had didn't have a Theme Park view available (which would have been my preference) but my husband's first choice was BLV so he is thrilled :)

Oh, I thought you wrote that you were booked at Bay Lake Tower, now I understand:thumbsup2

We love the CR's BLV because there aren't any roads or buildings when you look straight out (just BLT to the left and the garden wing to the right). You just see the lake, the marina and ol' Discovery Island where there are always plenty of birds circling around. You'll be able to see the Electric Water pagent every night around 10:05. You can even see some of Illuminations off to the right. You're going to love it!

I have also been able to see the Characters In Flight Ballon from Downtown Disney when it's up in the air.

I have a question. We, well I'll admit it, I decided to upgrade the room we originally booked to a BL View at the CR. Is there a better area on that side to put as a request? Or are views fairly decent no matter where? The most I've seen from the CR is the monorail in past trips and wishing our budget could afford it so I have no idea.

I honestly don't think there is a difference in how the Bay Lake View will look, no matter which room you are assigned or the floor. However if you want to avoid getting a room over Chef Mickey's and hearing that song they play there every half hour when it's opened, request a room away from there.

I just want to know if I have this figured out correctly. If I book a standard view studio at BLT and I want a POOL view I should request an inner villa, south side? Is that what I put on the request? Or, should I just request a pool view? *I understand it's just a request and not guaranteed.

Just wanted to share that we stayed at CR from the 31st 'til the 7th (Garden Wing) and enjoyed every moment. It was a lot of fun and my son thought that waterslide was too cool...eventhough we were only able to use it Jan. 1st (got too cold after that). One special final moment (just before we left to check out) was when a pair of ducks (we named Donald and Daisy) came up to the glass patio doors and looked in as my son laid on the floor and looked out at them. I took a picture, it was too cute. Since this morning was -30 degrees Celcius with the windchill....I want to go back...

Thanks for posting your review.

If anyone has any recent photo's from their trips. I would love to see them. My family will be going in October for MNSSHP. I am so excited, I check this thread everyday for a little magic!

Here's my trip report (still ongoing) from my October trip. We stayed at CR annd went to MNSSHP, lots of pictures from both (plus Food and Wine Festival!). Hope this helps! :goodvibes

Just noticed your signature - Grand Villa MKV?! WOW! Hope you'll be posting some photos. Have you stayed in one before? Looks like we'll be at WDW the same month.

Hey WDWKOOK!!! This will be our first time in a Grand Villa!!! There will be nine of us!! We are soooo excited!!! We were going to request the Lake View but I know myself too well and know that if we don't have a view of the Castle then we'd wish we had! Unlike many, we spend more time IN our room...and on the Balconies too!! Our Autistic son LOVES just sitting and watching the monorail..so that's what we do!! We'll be using LOTS of points for this trip..(guess our trip in 2013 will be paid in cash - LOL)...and feel it will be well worth the smiles!!!;)

We're heading down week of the 15th....and hope to miss the Easter crowds!! Fingers Crossed!!! :worship:

...and will DEFINITELY be taking pictures!!;)

Missyrose Thank you so much for the link to your trip report! I have just barely started reading. I love all the photo's, it's just what I was looking for. With October 2012 a few months away, every tid bit of Disney keeps me in suspense for the excitement I have to look forward to. Thank you! Much appreciated!!
We will be staying Contemporary, theme park view, for a week the later part of October!
Not too far from now I can start making my dining adr's.. way to many restauraunts. But I'm getting lots of good input for dining on the dis boards. I'm sure I'll have a lot more questions, being that I am plannning our families first disney vacation. I'm keeping a close eye on this thread! Thanks to all!! :thumbsup2

These were from our trip back in July. Theme park view room on the 7th floor. Great view (obviously), our biggest issue with the room was the noise from Chef Mickey's, as CR Resort Fan mentioned a few pages ago. Also the sink design was terrible. Loved the area and other amenities, we're looking forward to staying at the Bay Lake Tower, where Chef Mickey's is nowhere to be found. :thumbsup2
