We've booked a stay at the CR for October 2012 but are hoping to get a 2BR at BLT so we can all be together. Website still says it's not available.....any idea when it might come open?

Also, we're hoping to get a pin for 40% off. If I book BLT in a package, can it be applied? Or should I just book the room and add tickets and dining after (if I can even do that)? Thoughts? This is our first WDW vacation!

I guess a 2 Bedroom Villas becoming available depends on how many DVC Members make their reservations 11 months out and how many of them can be reserved through the Disney Reservation Center or their website.

If you were to reserve a package and wanted to switch because you got a 40% off PIN or WDW came out with a room only discount, you need to cancel the package because they can't be switched over to a room only reservation.

Just spoke to a CM about BLT and was told that cash reservation at BLT can be made 8 months in advance. I believe it is 11 months for DVC members. We're teying for June 2012 so I have a couole of months to wait.

LaMickey, We are a cash reservation so I called today and switched our YC ressie/package over to BLT/package for June 28 2012 . It is available on line so you may want to check again. When I called and spoke to a CM on 7/21/11 she told me that cash reservations are normally 10 months out so I would need to call back the 1st week in August.

My Pleasure. Even after I spoke to the CM on the 21st I would still go on the WDW web site sometimes twice a day and try to see if BLT was available. She was spot on with the 10 months. You never know though, they may release them early. Here is some for you and happy planning.

Thanks. I will definately keep trying. The CM I spoke with did say that some DVC resorts were already available, but BLT would not be until the 8 month mark - seemed odd. Glad to hear you were able to book BLT now for June 2012. Gives me a little hope!

When we make our booking, we plan to arrive at the CR on the 4th August. It's DS birthday on the 5th. Can we order a "special" cake when we check in or is it too late???? I can't ring really as we're coming from the UK!!!

I would say it's about a 5 minute walk.

Would you say its worth the extra money to stay in the tower? We will be wtih three kiddos, a double stroller and probably a ton of crap. LOL

Well staying in the Tower means you will have a full size balcony, along with being an elevator ride away from all their stores, restaurants and transportation options. Now that's the only difference since their Garden Wing rooms have the exact same design and size so I say it's worth it. However the question is do you also think it's worth the extra cost to stay in the Tower, because in the end it's a decision only you can make.
