Does the resort share their buses with another resort? I thought I once heard they share with WL, but I can't remember. If they do share, do they stop at CR first or second? Thanks!

In the mornings they will either share with the Polynesian or Wilderness Lodge. Then in afternoon/evening they will share with both the Polynesian and Grand Floridian. However no matter what the Contemporary guests are always picked up first and dropped off first.

hey,
I apologize in advance for the double post but just realized that this was probably the better place to post for CR info. I am so torn and need help deciding b/w CR tower or Garden Deluxe room (assuming it's available). Any reviews or thoughts on Garden Deluxe room would be greatly appreciated especially if anyone has stayed there. I know it has a king, and sofa bed. Any other important info I should know about it?

It's 2 adults, one 4 yr old and one almost 3 yr old. Going in mid to late Jan. 2012. Mainly MK visit. Main priorities: alot of sq. feet in room so we don't feel cramped with the 2 kids as we don't travel light, want to walk to MK everyday with double stroller. The extra sq. ft in deluxe garden room seems appealing to me but I am hesitant to give up the ease of getting snack, coffee in the am, in the tower building.

Thanks in advance!

I haven't stayed in the Garden Wing Deluxe Room, however if size of a room is a factor I can tell you their Tower rooms are among the biggest of the Deluxe Resorts.

Also when staying in the Tower you are an elevator ride away from all their stores, restaurants, Monorail station and etc.

Now the walk from the Garden Wing building to the Tower is 5 minutes or less depending on where your room would be located, so no matter what you decide I am sure you will like it no matter what.

I'm not trying to steer you in a different direction, but have you considered a one bedroom at BLT? It would be a lot roomier and it has two bathrooms and interior access to the Tower. You can use discount codes/pins to stay there and you'll get daily mousekeeping if you book a cash reservation.

Here is a link to some photos of the Deluxe room in the GW:

And the one bedroom at BLT:

Oh, and the Tower rooms all have a daybed.

I just realized a few days ago that you can rent DVC pts or book BLT through Disney but I haven't looked into it too much. It does sound like what we are looking for in terms of more room and less hotel feel. However, I don't think I can rent pts as I just can't risk not being able to cancel and with our jobs there is a chance that could happen. 2 BLT questions:

If Disney posts a Jan discount promo, I can apply it to DVC rooms?

How far is the walk from BLT to 4th floor monorail? It looked far away in the pics ...actually looked farther than the garden wing to me. Am I wrong?

The only thing I know is their the skybridge at Bay Lake Tower that connects to the Contemporary tower is located on their 5th floor. So I guess the walk will depend on what floor your room would be located on and how far it would be from the elevators.

Yes, you can use discounts for BLT or any other Villa. You can use the WDW booking page to see what the rack room-only rate is for your dates and then just subtract 30% - 40% to get an idea of the price after you've applied a savings code. If you're retired or active-duty military, they've extended the 40% off rack room-only rate through 9-12.

Thanks everybody for all the wonderful info. Husband just came home and said he doesn't want garden wing even though he originally wanted the extra space. He really wants to be in tower to be close to restaurants, shops, coffee, and monorail. So, tower room it is!! Just need to call and book tomorrow and then if a discount comes out in the fall that would make everything even better!

In the past I have stayed as low as the 6th floor with the Magic Kingdom View which the lowest floor possible with that view and I can honestly say that I think there is no difference between a lower floor compared to a higher floor.

Hi Everyone,

Well, the time has arrived!! We are leaving for DW on Saturday and will be checking into the CR late Saturday night. Woooohoooooo!!!:cool1::banana::cloud9: Our last stay was Nov. 2009 for our 20th anniversary -- we totally fell in love with the CR and cannot wait to return!! This time we will have our two princesses with us. Once again, we are staying in an MK View room -- pure magic!! We will be staying for five nights then moving over to the BCV for the remainder of our trip.

I'll be sure to post an update when we return. Our stay last time was soooo wonderful -- loved our room, loved the kind CMs, loved the restaurants and looooooooved that easy walk to the MK -- hopefully this stay will be magical as well. If anyone needs me to check out anything while we're there, please post for me, and I'll do my best!

Have a great weekend, everyone!

I'm so jealous...was at BLT last August and miss it sooooo much! Have a "magical vacation"! :tink:

PS...just remembered :rotfl: ... our high school band will be leaving Sunday for DW arriving on Monday! Not sure of the exact day (am waiting for a call from a band parent to find out for sure) but do know they will be marching in a morning parade at the Magic Kingdom. If you see the Bellville High School Band would you mind taking some pictures and send them to me via PM? I miss those days soooo much :sad1:; made 2 trips to DW with DD's as a band chaperone and loved every minute of it! Thanks. :thumbsup2

Just to agree with this. We got a 40% discount on our one bedroom BLT villa for August. I think we're paying about $315 per night? We're a family of 5 so we really appreciate the extra space, the kitchen, and the washer/dryer. Plus, my kids are pretty young so they go to bed early. It's nice to have a separate bedroom so the adults can watch tv/enjoy an adult beverage after a long day chasing after the little ones! These darn discount are why I can't convince my DH to buy DVC... :rotfl:

We stayed in the Garden Wing a few years back and loved it. I didn't think the walk to the Main Building was an issue at all!

Amanda
