Hi all..
This may seem like a silly question, but if the monorail is having difficulty (power outage, etc.) how do you get to Epcot? Are there busses running?
During times like that they should have buses which go to Epcot, although I think it has to be down for a long time for them to actually have buses. I am sure that's what they did in July 2009 after the Monorail accident, however if it's down for 15 - 20 minutes I don't think the buses are called for that fast.

I switched our resort today from YC to CR. I promise I'm not one of those chronic resort switchers  We've been debating which resort to stay in, and DS (4) saw a video of the monorail going through CR, and it's all he wants to talk about now. So, he thinks we're staying at YC, but DH and I have decided to suprise him with a stay at CR. So, now that we're going to CR, I have a couple of questions for the experts. :)

Can you view the electrical water parade from the Tower-Theme Park view rooms, or is this on the other side of the CR?

The CM told me that the room has two queen beds. Are king beds available for the Tower-Theme Park view rooms? We may stick with the queen, but DS will most likely want to sleep with us anyways, and we can all fit comfortably in a king.

Thanks! :flower3:

Yes you can see the Electrical Water Pageant from their Tower - Theme Park View rooms when it's in Seven Seas Lagoon.

Now all their rooms come with two queen beds, however for 2011 they added a new room category called Tower Standard (Parking Lot) View King. Now despite it saying parking lot in it's description common sense would say you will also see the Magic Kingdom if you reserved that, because from their Tower - Theme Park View rooms you will also see their parking lot. The difference is the room with the King bed is less expensive, however I am not sure exactly how many of those rooms they have.

Looks like we're making a last-minute (for us anyway) trip this July and the conference is being held here. The rate for the conference is awesome. Anyone know what kind of room we may get (tower/garden) or is it pretty much up in the air?

For the convention we went to last July there was no room choices. Some of the guests for the convention were in the Garden wing and some were in the tower. We had a tower Bay Lake View room and some of our friends arriving the same day close to the same time got the Garden Wing. It was a great visit. It sold us on the CR and we plan to stay there as often as our budget allows.

Anyone staying there on a convention rate will either get a room in the Tower or Garden Wing, so you won't know until you check-in.

Staying at the Contemporary for the first time in just a few weeks. Should I hope for a Tower room or a Garden Wing room??

Is your son going on the trip with you? If so, maybe you could take him out to the CA Grill as a "thank you" for his generosity:confused3. Oh, and you can never be too excited about a stay at the CR .

We all share your excitement! While the grounds of POR (Dixie Landings as I'll always think of it) are beautiful and the food court is great, the rooms, views and amenities at the CR are going to really impress you.

Have a great vacation!

Sounds like you're with a convention since you don't know what you've booked? With a convention booking you are assigned a room at check-in and it can either be in the Tower or in the Garden Wing.

If you're not with a convention, then you've booked either a Tower room or a Garden Wing room and this will be on your confirmation.

That's very cool and I hope you enjoy it.

I would agree with what WDWKOOK said because if you don't know the room category location you are staying in that are you staying there with a convention rate, since those guests can't pick because the rate is a lot less per night. However if your not staying on a convention rate then you are reserved in either room category and should check your confirmation.

Thank you. We are with a "group" - not a convention, but an incentive trip we earned. I did "extend" for a few extra days, but again - at the assigned rate, so I'll just be happy and take what I get. I was just thinking that since we are arriving several days earlier than the rest, I might be able to "plead" my case for a Tower Room - or a Garden Wing Room - depending on your thoughts.

Either way, I'm going to have a week at this beautiful resort with very little out of my own pocket. ;)

Well, congrats on the trip and if you do have a choice I would certainly choose or try to get a Tower room or even a Garden Wing room facing Bay Lake is wonderful, too.

Good luck!

Well either 7 days or 5 days before you check-in that's when your room location will be assigned to you, so it's a 50/50 chance that it will be in the Tower. If you are given a Garden Wing room you can always ask to see if a room in the Tower is available, however just remember those are very popular and could be sold out. Now if it helps the walk from the Garden Wing building to the Tower is 5 minutes or less depending on where your room would be located and their rooms have the exact design and size of the Tower rooms.

Thank you all!!!:cool1:,he Is a wonderfull son, no matter if we ever went to disney I am a very proud dad:love:. Matter of fact we are doing Cali grill the friday we are there. Now Sept can not come soon enough:cool1:
