I could be wrong, but I don't think there is a club for kids. I know that the Poly, GF, AKL and WL have one. We're staying at the CR, but the night we go to Victoria's and Albert's, our children are going to the Neverland Club at the Poly.

You're not wrong, the CR kids' club closed around the time that the Food 'N Fun Center closed to make way for The Wave.

Britfish, here is a link to childcare options:

uh-oh, DH is going to kill me! We are staying two nights at CR and I told him we could put DD in the kids club for an hour or two so we could have some adult time. Ooops! Do they have a pirate cruise or anything? Ok...off to check the link from the PP and see if I can salavage this ;)

Great picture!! Just curious...were the colors enhanced or was that really the 'true' picture? If I could be guaranteed that specific room, I would have never switched to the Tower...y'all had a terrific location and view. Don't want to take any chances and get stuck on the 2nd or 3rd floor without a balcony:scared1:

I don't believe I re-touched that photo. FL sunsets are beautiful, aren't they? We were once stationed in Key West and people would always stop along A1A when the sun was setting just to watch it.

Yes, that was the perfect GW room! But the last time we stayed at the CR 12/10, we had a GW room that faced the canal on the third floor. The trees obstructed the view of the canal somewhat and I didn't like not having a balcony. I had requested a room facing BL, but none were available and the best water view they could offer was the canal.

There is a kids club at CR, right? I searched this thread and couldn't find anything about it! Whats it like? Is it scheduled activities? Do you need to reserve a spot in advance?
It's very easy to take your kid to the kids club at the Polynesian or Grand Floridian since they are a Resort Monorail ride away. So if you just reserve a spot for them in advance that should be it.

Does any have pics of the pools or any boats they can post?

TY

Not the greatest view of the pool but you can see the nice steps they have going in and the fountain...

On the DVC forums I have read some posts where people keep hearing rumours that one day the current Garden Wing building will be demolished so they can add a second Bay Lake Tower building, however I doubt that will ever happen here are my reasons why.

Unlike the current Bay Lake Tower with another one they can't build a sky bridge which connects to the Contemporary Tower because of Chef Mickey's being in the way.

During the Contemporary room renovations we all know the Garden Wing building got a full renovation, where as the other one didn't and that lead the way for it being demolished. I mean why spend all that $ renovating the rooms only to demolish that section.

With the convention center being located on the same side as the Garden Wing I think that would be a problem, however that's just a personal opinion of mine.

Keeping with the convention aspect the Contemporary needs the Garden Wing rooms with the amount of conventions they host each year, so with just the Tower rooms it will be even harder to get a reservation there.

The Garden Wing rooms are very popular since they are the least expensive room category among the Monorail Resorts, so you think WDW wants to lose all the $ they can make from those rooms.

Finally I think a second a Bay Lake Tower would be an eye sore because it would look weird having the Contemporary in between two buildings, plus it wouldn't be the center attraction that it is today and won't stand out anymore.

also cr, they would have to build it that the 11th or 12th floor would be the first floor of guest rooms. anything lower, you wont see over the A frame.

Well...once again, I added another day to our CR stay :dance3: Why not, right?! DS9 wanted to see the Star Wars Parade again...he loved it last year. Now I'm tossing around the idea of bumping us up from LV to MKV...just not sure. The price difference isn't much at all, but I REALLY love looking at the lake in the early mornings. I know that it's pretty cool to look at MK, but I'm not crazy about the parking lot. When I was a kid, we had MKV, and I thought it was great...however...believe it or not...my best memory of the CR was standing outside our room door watching the monorail go through the resort. My sister and I thought it was the coolest thing EVER!

Happy St. Patrick's Day to all!

There is nothing wrong with adding an extra day at WDW and to stay at the Contemporary. :thumbsup2

Does anyone know if you can request turn-down service at BLT if you are staying on a cash reservation?

We're staying at BLT this upcoming July -- after years of being at Polynesians CL. Sure do enjoy the turndown service at the Poly ... so, just wondering if anyone knew if you can request it at BLT?

Thanks~

I have never heard of turn down service at any of the DVC Resorts. Now the exception would be the Animal Kingdom Lodge Villas because they have some DVC Club Level rooms, however since there is no Club Level floor at Bay Lake Tower then you can't get it there.

The Wave of American Flavors at Disney's Contemporary Resort has added a breakfast buffet.

For $18.49 guests can choose from standard breakfast fare including eggs (scrambled or omelets to order), grits, pancakes, bacon, creamy gravy, hash browns, quiche and more.

The cost is $10.99 for guests ages 3 to 9.

To make reservations, book online or call 407-WDW-DINE or 407-939-3463 up to 180 days prior to your visit.

Here's a little taste you can make at home.

Sweet Potato Pancakes With Pecan-Honey Butter

Yield: 4 to 6 servings

Pancakes:

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

3 teaspoons baking powder

1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 1/2 cups milk

1 1/4 cups brown sugar

3/4 cup cooked, mashed sweet potato (from about 1 small sweet potato)

3 large eggs

3 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Pecan-honey butter:

1 stick butter, room temperature

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup chopped toasted pecans

1. Heat oven to 225F. Sift flour into a large bowl. Add baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt; whisk until combined. Combine milk, brown sugar, sweet potato, eggs, vegetable oil and vanilla extract in a large bowl; whisk until well blended. Add milk mixture to flour mixture and stir until just blended.

2. Heat nonstick griddle or skillet over medium-low heat until a few drops of water sizzle on the surface. If using an electric skillet, preheat to 350F.

3. Spoon about 1/4 cup of batter per pancake onto skillet. Cook on first side until tops bubble and sides look dry; flip and cook until golden brown, about 2 minutes more.

4. Place cooked pancakes on a baking sheet and place into preheated oven to keep warm. Repeat process with remaining batter.

5. For pecan-honey butter, stir together butter, honey and pecans in a medium bowl. Top pancakes with honey-pecan butter and serve immediately.
