Welocme abroad.

We just booked our cruise yesterday! Dh actually tried to book a few days ago but was told there wasn't any room..so glad he tried again! This will be our first Alaskan cruise. We have taken two prior cruises on the Dream. We are in 8528. I noticed we are the only ones listed on that deck. Should I be nervous that our stateroom isn't a great choice? My fear is always that one of us will get motion sickness. We haven't had any issues on the Dream but it is a bigger ship. Although not sure waters will be as rough either? :confused3 Anyway it will be me (Jackie), dh (Bill) and our two girls (17 & 12). On our prior cruises the girls didn't get too hooked on the kids clubs. Mostly because they are shy and ages kept them in different clubs. Although they were short cruises so hopefully this one will be different. Anyway, anxious to learn as much as I can from all of you and the links posted. Also joined the fb page. Because we booked so late, I have a lot of catching up to do!!

Welcome aboard Jackie! Our cast of characters consist of me (Terrie), DH (Wally) and about 30 or so of our dear friends we have met on previous cruises collectively known as the DISpeeps.

I am sure your stateroom is fine. Heck, you are right next to the Roy O. Disney suite! I am prone to motion sickness. What I have found helps me the best is taking a Bonine once a day at least an hour before the ship sails. We have been on 11 Disney cruises, the Wonder twice, Fantasy twice and the rest on the Dream and I have not had a problem.

You haven't missed too much as the meet thread and FB group have been a bit slow. I am sure conversation will pick up as we draw closer. There are a couple of people who have cruised Alaska before. Dizdragonfly (once) and llambert (3 times). We first timers are fortunate that we have some folks that can provide insight from their experiences. Both are on the FB group too.

Are any of you going to be participating in the FE exchange?

Are any of you going to be participating in the FE exchange?

Since there are so many of us we are doing our own FE group exchange. I am likely to bring a few extras and plop things in FE's that don't belong to our group though :goodvibes

Are any of you going to be participating in the FE exchange?

We have never participated in a FE before.. I don't believe we will this time. When is the cut off day to sign up? We are trying to see if we can start our vacation with a visit to my sister in Seattle and not sure how it all is going to plan out.

Hello! I'm already on the FB group and have also signed up for the FE, but will probably alter that so only our room is listed. It will be me (Jennia), DH (Venny), dd Violet (will be 7), dd Evangeline (will be 3), my mom (Mary Ann), my dad (Jim), my uncle (Mike), my brother (Jeff), and my SIL (Tegan). This will be the first cruise for about half the group and a few of us have visited Alaska before. About 35 years ago, my dad worked as a logger there in the summers and was also a performer in lumberjack shows, which is why he has no interest in seeing one. ;)
Question: Does anyone know when we'll find out our dining rotation and the nights for the different shows?

Just now in the process of getting our passports. There is an option for passport "card".. What exactly is that?! Also trying to decide on whether we will fly into Seattle to visit sis first. Wondering how the whole border thing will effect the ride. Somewhere I seen Amtrack was suggested as a better alternative to a bus? Any input?
