i love southwest; if they have it cheaper before you go.. just refund your original and rebuy.. they will put a credit to your account that you can use for other tickets that is good for a year...

I think just about all airlines will do this. As long as they can give you seats on the same flight at a lower price and you request it they will. However, they will not give you a refund without charging the change fee.

What they will do without the change fee is issue you a "Miscellaneous Charge Order" good on that airline only for one year in the amount of the difference in fare.

SW is by far the EASIEST to deal with on price discounts.

My experience with the others is that is almost more work then it is worth to get the credit. And getting that "Misc. Change Order" is not always possible depending on your fare and carrier.

Just wanted to add that we had NO problem with United in getting vouchers for the difference when our airfare went down. I just called, told them that I'd seen the price was lower than what I originally paid, and they said no problem....type type type type....and sent out the vouchers, I got them a few days later...good for a year for travel on United.
