To Croc or not to Croc?!? I was researching shoes to see what kind I should get for my trip and was shocked at how many people swear by Crocs in the Parks, including many former skeptics. I'm a doubter but considering converting to the Church of Croc

I'd say a lot depends on the time of year you go, if its a time when there is more rain then NO They are slippery and you'll most likely fall I have several pairs Truthfully I LOVED them when I first got them ( not exactly converting to worship status ) but felt like walking on marshmallows BUT IMHO they make your feet wider over years, others will think I'm crazy Now the Crocs are only worn in the house and usually to or from the shower

I'm sure you'll get plenty of opinions

I wore Crocs thong-style sandals one year all around the parks for about a week or so, and they were the type that are the shape of your feet (if that makes sense). Here is a link to the ones I'm fairly sure I had.

They are great for some light resort hopping or a day with less walking, but I found them to get uncomfortable, even painful, after heavy walking around the parks and having to stand in line for rides/attractions. I had better comfort wearing shoes with straps (mine were Dr. Scholl's)...I'm referring to light versions of hiking sandals. But hey, maybe there is a better style of Crocs out there than what I wore, and I'm sure people have had different experiences than mine. This is just what I experienced.

I was always in the wouldn't-be-caught-dead-in-Crocs Camp for a looong time, until one trip, my feet were literally throbbing in pain by the end of the week. While waiting for the parade at MK, I darted into the store and bought a pair (of the clog pink & whites that they no longer sell, sadly ) and have never looked back!

It was instant relief for my poor feet. I know some people get blisters with them, but Crocs are the only park shoes that DON'T give me blisters. Even my comfy, well broken-in sneakers give me blisters by the end of a Disney week.

The Disney Crocs seemed to have largely disappeared from WDW shops, unfortunately, at least in adult sizes, so I've had to buy the regular kinds, which aren't as cute. Also, I can't wear backless shoes, so the flip-flop styles are out for me. I have a couple of the sling-back Crocs that I use for the Parks

I wear my flip flop crocs all the time during the summer and they are great. My regular-style crocs (can't think of the name) however, I wore to the parks one time (thinking how smart I was since after it rained I wouldn't have wet feet) --they were very slippery and wouldn't do it again

i have over 10 pairs of crocs, regular and flip-flop styles (i know: style and croc in same sentence equals oxymoron).

i bought a pair of tevas a few years back, and now the crocs, many NWT, are in the donation bag.
while crocs were the best option years ago, every pair gave me blisters (i would change styles to have blisters in a different spot), as well as back/knee pain.

i also used fit-flops for a while (the thicker sole is great), but tevas still are the closest to perfect for the many miles we walk.

Not anymore! I always said I would never be caught dead in Crocs. And then I found these:

I wore them all over DLR last summer and gots tons of compliments. They remind me of the jellies from the 80's I used to wear, but way more comfortable. Since then, I've bought a few more "flat" styles and worn them all to DLR without any soreness. I now have my eye on these:

I don't wear Crocs because I find them INCREDIBLY uncomfortable. I was going to get them for an event where I am on my feet outside in July for three solid days so I tried them on and it was awful. I am a perfectly normal size 8 medium and something about them just felt terrible. The little bumps inside made me feel like I was walking on sand and the 8 was a tiny bit too small but the 8.5 was enormous and my feet slid around in them.

So just try them on before you decide I had always avoided them because they are so ugly but when I finally decided to suck it up and choose comfort over cute I found out they are terribly uncomfortable too so I didn't have to make the decision!

I also have these and LOVE them. They didn't require any breaking in, but I was still too paranoid to wear them on my trip last year. I only wore them for a night at DTD, but that's it. This year, I will be wearing these frequently, as I realized they are more comfortable than my tennis shoes.

Last summer I actually brought an extra pair of tennis shoes to the parks (which my husband kindly carried in the backpack ) just in case. I changed in to them at night only because my feet were cold. By the end of trip I was just wearing them all day and didn't bring my tennis shoes.

I was a doubter but now I swear by them! My dh and I have gone many times to WDW and DL and there would be so many nights my feet would be so painful that I couldn't even to to the jacuzzi with him. My sister bought me a pair of crocs and challenged me to give them a try. I packed them but did not wear them the first day. As usual my feet were in extreme pain that night. I have arthritis in both ankles and have had bunion surgery. Well the next morning I decided I didn't care how ugly they were I was going to try them. I totally forgot about feet/ankle pain. By the end of our visit it dawned on me that my feet didn't hurt. I ONLY wear crocs to disney ever since that day. I also have a nice looking black pair to wear with my black slacks when we go to signature resturants at night. Only crocs! I promise you they are the only way to go!

Zulily had them on their site not long ago- the deals were pretty good. It might be worth it to try them out!

I have a pair of the flip-flops that I need to get stretched a bit for our summer trip. They are comfortable for me, just not super stylish.

Looking at the picture of the Adrina flats, it seems as if they have a small wedge heel "inside" the shoe - is that right? Totally flat flats are the work of the devil IMO, but if there is a teeny bit of heel those would be great.

Yes, they do. Very small though.

I get the best results going "1/2 and 1/2"- I wear good walking sneakers for the first half of my park day and change into crocs when I go back later. Sometimes I wear socks with them for warmth/traction. While I know I look like a dork, I'm able to enjoy myself without the constant nag of sore feet- I keep repeating my mantra "..I'll never see any of these people again.."!
