~*~The After-Twilight Bookclub!!!~*~

wow, i'm seriously very flattered by your email. Thank you so much! i'm not a writer and it's way harder then i thought it would be. on top of that i started another one:scared1:

anyway, back On topic. i'm dying to read the black dagger brotherhood books but my library doesn't have them. Anyone have the set and would consider a trade??

Our library system includes SEVERAL libraries and if those libraries don't have what we want we can do an "Interlibrary loan" and they will reach out literally as far as it takes. I got a book that was brought in from California and my mother in law has had one come from Montana (we're in ORegon)

Sorry-I got the first book from my library because I wasn't sure I'd like them. I do have the second book if you want it. I haven't read the third book yet and I have that one as well in the pile by my bed. I'm jumping in between reading fanfics, City of Ashes and books from the House of Night series. Oh and I just finished the first one of the Fae books by Karen Marie Moning-Darkfever.

Hmmm..good news. I may just finish off The Mortal Instruments afterall. After lending my copy of CoB to one of my students and her sister, and both girls loved the book...except the "revelation" at the end of the book. It's really what turned me off of the book most. So the kid (she's 16) runs off to the internet to just take a peek about whether that revelation is for real because she was REALLY unhappy about it, and she found out a few spoilers regarding that for the series.

Suffice to say she will be reading the rest and encouraged me to do the same. Now I'll just have to wait for her to finish CoA this week and give me her copy.

I'm on the last book. I hated the revelation (in book 1) and some other things about it as well. Book two didn't do that much for me (don't get your hopes up) but it wasn't horrible. Book 3 ...we'll see how it goes. popcorn::

i gave in and bought the first two black dagger books today. i don't know why but they were calling to me.
so far I LOVE it! there is a part that just broke my heart though. the big, sexy, scary vampire is mostly blind and feeling very self concious about eating (they eat food and drink blood) in front of someone. my husband is legally blind so i can relate.

So what do you relate to? The blindness or the big, sexy, vampire-ness that they have in common?

Another friend is giving me a hard time for having given up on this series. It's a tough one for me to read cause the HUGE mass market paperback is hard on my hands (carpal blah blah). I'm going to see if it's on tape.

well, DH is pretty tall and really buff, but he nothing close to as big as they describe Wrath. so i'll say i relate to the sexy and blind.

Hmmm you've given me some hope for the future. I do enjoy the story even if it's pretty derivative. I don't want any spoilers but now I'm looking forward to the third book a little more.

I liked the guy in the second book-"Hollywood". I haven't read past that one yet but that's because I'm trying to keep up with my library books!:rolleyes1

That's because we're special!!! :thumbsup2
I thought that the BDB was kind of cheesy at first but I was pulled in by the author's banter between the brothers. She wrote a guide to the series (that I haven't read yet so that I don't get anything spoiled) where supposedly the brothers filled out personality quizzes and stuff. I thought that that was kind of funny. I'm too busy reading YA and smutty fanfics to get back to this series right now though!;)

I haven't been here in awhile because I have been busy planning my vow renewal at WDW:love: and I have been reading like crazy!!!

First I want to say for all those who are on the fence about the Mortal Instruments series, keep reading them! After the first book I was so annoyed and was about to give up. Then CP told me not to and keep reading and I did. Boy am I glad I did. I loved the books. Once I finished them it all made sense and I was really happy with the ending and understood the story as a whole more. The series is over and I would love to read more about Clary and Jace but it doesn't look like that's going to happen. From the authors website:

"Are you going to write more Mortal Instruments books after City of Glass?

City of Glass is the last book in the Mortal Instruments series. But I'm not done with the Shadowhunters' world. A year after City of Glass, there will be a new series about different Shadowhunters, called The Infernal Devices, that takes place years before the events of The Mortal Instruments. There will be three books in the Devices series. Right now they're tentatively titled: The Clockwork Angel, The Clockwork Prince, and The Clockwork Princess. There is not a scheduled publication date for these books yet."

There is also talk of a movie coming out about the series. That would be awesome!!

Then I started reading the Vampire Academy Series and finished all 3 books in record time! I love Rose and Dimitri!!! I was so upset at the end of the 3rd book but I am hoping everything turns out OK. I cannot wait till book 4 comes out! That book will be released on August 25th, not the 26th!(hey that one day makes a big difference!LOL;)) Also on the authors website she will post the first chapter in July. I can't wait!! Someone here mentioned they might do a tv show about it? Any more info on that?

Right now I am reading Dark Lover, the first book in the Black Dagger Series. Holy cow what great, descriptive steamy scenes!! I was up till 1am reading it last night I couldn't put it down. The only thing I don't like is how it jumps from different characters perspectives. I just want to read about Beth and Wrath!:lmao: So far so good!

I really have to thank you all for such great recommendations.

Congratulation on your vow renewal! I would love to do that but I think it would be more than I could talk my husband into. He loves Disney but he's not big on spending money on weddings, much less vow renewals. Let us know how it goes-I'll live vicariously through you!

I heard that the WB picked up Vampire Academy but that's all I heard. I'm not even sure that was the series that they picked up-I was thinking it might have been another teen vampire series but I'm starting to get them confused. I'll have to start the VA books-alot of you guys are starting to recommend them!

i finished dark lover just a few minutes ago, i really really loved it. I see a field trip to barnes and noble to buy the rest this weekend.

I also picked up Ink Exchange today at the library along with Artie Lange's (from Howard Stern) biography 'too fat to fish'

oh and i also got new moon and breaking dawn in audio format so i can listen to them on my ipod!

Congrats! So fun! Make sure to put your TR link in your siggie (and remind me!)

I'm pretty sure the books with the tv series are the Vampire Diary books.

Did you read that series? I tried book 1 but I couldn't get into it. I gave up.

Thanks everyone about the vow renewal! I will be sure to write a full report but it's not until November! I will be going for my planning session in June and I will write a report about that and link it in my siggy.

I just finished Dark Lover and I have to say I loved it!! I have to go out and buy the rest of the books. While I was looking at them online, it seems each book is about the individual brothers. Is there no more Wrath and Beth in the next books?

I know this wasn't directed at me, but I read the first one...and it was..interesting..almost painful to read! I won't be wasting anymore time on them, that's for sure!

We are having the VR on 11/9. It's not our anniversary, it's just our favorite time of year at WDW. There was no way I was going to have the VR on our anniversary date which is July 21st.(I refuse to wear a wedding dress in that heat and humidity!LOL) We are having the wedding we never had.:lovestruc

Since you are starting the 2nd book tonight, I want a full report in the morning!:lmao: Since I can't pick it up for a few days I need to know if we get to read more about Beth and Wrath!!popcorn::
