The Adventurosity Club

Why am I so hungry for a processed breakfast meat all of a sudden?:rotfl:

I stocked up on all the stuff like peanut butter, tuna, and bread in case the electricity goes out. But I tried to be good and not buy junk food. Now, I am SOOOOOO regretting not having fun stuff to just munch on!

Boy, Galveston is already getting hit hard, and the hurricane isn't even there yet! Galveston is about 3 hours from here.

They are saying Bryan/College Station will get Tropical Storm winds starting at 7pm tonight, and Hurricane Force winds will be here by 7am tomorrow. Yikes!

For now I am fine, and just waiting for the lights to go out!

I sooooooo would want Wise Potato Chip and Ring Dings....skim milk with that of course. For what it is worth Cathie, I am NOT going through any hurricane force winds and we have power and all I want right now is the crap too! AND I have eaten all of my calories for today already and am into tomorrow's for a couple hundred........:sad1:

But I have that stupid little "goal" I PLACED ON MYSELF to hit 75 lbs lost by our trip 12/26 and, well, relosing weight really stinks! :scared:

Hey, isn't it you that always has good crackers on hand? I think it was you that said that....they can sometimes pass as fun food? Kinda?

Stay safe Cathie!

Yeah, I have the stinking....oops, I meant GOOD crackers. It's just not the same as chips and dip! Or chocolate chip cookies! Sigh. Of course the storm isn't even here yet, and if I had any of that stuff, I'd probably already have pigged out on it!

Now that I've done everything I need to, just sitting here watching the weather channel and CNN makes me a little nervous. MMMMM, crackers here I come! :)

"So there is still time for a quick road trip to the grocery store for the "appropriate" and "necessary" provisions???," says the enabler........

There probably is time - but for ONCE I am going to be good and not go. I do have to tell you I have a small stash of Hershey's kisses for the deepest, darkest, moment of need. Probably in about an hour! :rotfl2:

Hello everyone!

Just finally had a chance to stop in again to say hi.

Cat -- so glad that you are safe. Keep us posted if there is anything you need! I lived just north of Houston for a few years when I was a kid, and I've started seeing some of the areas I remember showing up on the news as being right in the path. I'm certainly thinking of you and praying for you and your friends!

Cherbear -- have a great trip!!! I can't wait to hear all about it!

MadBrad - - - Same to you! (and good luck with those gas prices! Yikes!)

Mrs. Fleagle, oh my dear, sweet Mrs. Fleagle. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed your karaoke and jokes from a couple of pages ago. I'm still laughing as I type this. Thank you!

To everyone else, I hope life is grand and that you are all still enjoying yourselves! I miss the daily interaction with you all, but I hope you understand!

Take care and talk to you soon!
~Justin

Oh, sorry, one more thing. I hate to name drop and such, but since you all were such a HUGE part of the CMO contest for me, I wanted to make sure you had heard that on my last trip (two weeks ago) I had a chance to meet Michael Phelps (yes, the 14-time Olympic Gold Medalist, Michael Phelps!) It was so cool. Thank you, thank you, thank you for helping to make this possible!

:)

JUSTIN!!!! So happy to see you here!!!! Love hearing about your CMO trips and, please, name drop away!

We are living vicariously through you.....still!

Ann :jumping1:

I'm so sorry Susan...I thought I sent you friend suggestions. I'll send you their names on facebook.....

:lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc
I didn't get the friend suggestions, but I did get the message and I think we're all "friends" now! Thank you!

BTW, loved your jokes!

Cathie - hang in there and stay safe! We have 25,000 evacuees here in Austin and are waiting for the strong winds. I think that is about all we're gonna get. Keep us posted!

Thanks for all the good thoughts!

Things are still quiet here - looks like it's not going to get bad until the middle of the night.

I think it's time to start the Disney movie marathon, and I might as well start by playing the glad game.

Oh Poll-y-ann-a!

Keep us updated Cat.....and hold on tight! We're thinking of you!

Well, the rains are here, and winds are still just at 30-something miles per hour. We still have power - yay!

We MAY only get Tropical Storm winds (up to 73mph) instead of the original Hurricane force they predicted.

If you've watched any of the coverage, you see how bad it is in Galveston and Houston area. Tropical Storm winds would be great!

Well I'm hoping for the best for those experiencing "rough" weather.

In other news... I managed to stay an extra day in Japan after my business trip and guess what I did? Go ahead and guess. That's right! I went to Disney Tokyo Sea and Disneyland! :cool1: :cheer2:

I'll try to put together an official trip report when I get back, But for now, let me say that Japan is really really really embracing this Halloween thing (I've never seen so many Alice in Wonderland related costumes!). Also, I think they should change the name to Disney WaitingInLineLand. I will never complain about crowds in CA or FL again.

Cheers everyone... or as they say in Japan "Kampai".

Justin......looks like you have a green light.

If you're here then "HELLO!"

Just realized you're probably not here but somewhere else.....but wherever you are I'm waving to you!

We will get lots of rain, and high winds, so there is a chance we might lose power, water, etc. I've done all my girl scout preparedness, so Bailey (cat) and I (Cat) should do just fine.

I'll try to post as long as I have power - so no worries - okay?

"Annie, Annie are you okay? Are you okay, Annie!"

Ewww! ('Sorry! I couldn't resist that corny reference to CPR-training and a Michael Jackson song...)

Anyway, 'just checking to see of you're still okay, Cat. Has anyone heard from her recently? :confused3

Excellent, FTC! We want pictures!!

"Disney WaitingInLineLand" ... Funny! :teeth:

.....also wishing I could/would/would want to/would EVER run in races (or even run for that matter) like you do!!! Do you actually like it??

Sure! When it's all over! :teeth: [Insert drum-roll here!]

Sheesh! I 'dunno what my problem is this morning! (I think I'm a little punch-happy!) Maybe Mrs. Fleagle set the tone with her joke-filled "monologue" a page or two back. (Thanks, btw! :thumbsup2 )

You'll notice that I never mentioned any marathons. I also tend to stick to half marathons that I find somewhat amusing. (Actually, so far, I've only participated in the Virginia Beach Rock 'n Roll Half Marathon -- although I dream of Disney one day! :teeth: All of the bands, cheerleaders, neigborhood spirit competitions and screaming spectators really are good motivators. Plus, I bring a jogging buddy to help pass the time. And, I sure can talk... The other races (5Ks) are pretty short and sweet!

Incidentally, I also passed the time during the latest race by strapping an action cam to my head. (I tried to film portions of the race that I found interesting or amusing... And, yes!, I looked like a complete geek, but I received only positive comments -- or inquisitive stares -- from folks who said they thought it was pretty cool! I'll post something once I actually edit the footage. (Unfortunately, the camera was positioned a little askew on my head, so I missed a lot of good stuff. There are portions that are salvageable, though. Good times! :teeth: )

Hey! I'm still here with electricity. It's raining hard, and we are getting some big gusts of wind, but we're still not too bad.

All the areas around us are losing power, according to the local station I am still watching! Lucky me that I'm still doing well.

Everyone - thanks for keeping good thoughts coming my way. It's been nice to have a place to check in with my story.

And FTC - my neice went to Tokyo Disney Land and Sea, and had a wonderful time. I'm so glad you got to sneak a trip in - even if the lines were bad!
