The Adventurosity Club

Mrs. Fleagle, you crack me up! :rotfl2:

Thanks for the jokes. Some were even funny. Of course, I might just be jet-lagged here in the land of the rising sun.

Poor Mrs. Fleagle!! Left here, all alone!! But, it looks like you were able to keep yourself very entertained!! :rotfl:

Hi Ann! :rainbow: :rainbow: :rainbow: :rainbow: :rainbow:

I knew it was you right from the beginning! So good to hear from you again!
Sounds like you've been very busy!

So jealous you'll be at Disney at Christmas...,Eric and I were just talking about going at Christmas this year too! Only problem is....well....life.....money.....family......money.....time....money. Congrats though for making the decision to go! What a wonderful present!

Don't be a stranger here....it's just not the same without you!

Amy

Hi Amy!!! Phooey on the money thing....it's DISNEY!!! (Although Ann'sDisneyMan still doesn't relate to my LOVE of going there and has said, "And we are not going back again next year! It's just too much money!" To which I replied, "Nope, you don't have too....but the kids and I will probably be going." ;))

Ann, thank you for the condolences. This has been such a hard summer, but I'm thinking positively and trying to work through the hardship in the best way I know how. The loss of my mother was terribly difficult, but she was suffering so much at the end that I was grateful to have her finally relieved of all of the pain.

Also, we are going to be at Disney the same time you are and we're also staying at Pop Century. We'll be there from January 1-8th and then we're taking the 3 day cruise from the 8-11th. I've got a 7th grader that I wasn't sure about taking out of school for that time, but she can do the make up work over the holidays and then it will be done before we leave for Disney. That will hopefully work out okay.

Where are your ADR's? We are doing the dining plan as well and we've got all our ressies made too. Inquiring minds want to know. I'll update you on our dining as soon as I find the box that has our list in it.

Suz

Hope you are doing well Suz! I FINALLY found my ADRs and will put them in my next post. Last year we combined my husband's business trip with a trip to Disney so he was out of school for 7 days...so we left in the beginning of December and with weekends and all returned with only one week of school before Christmas break. They were cramming everything in that week. Your timing hopefully will work out so much better!

Everyone who is going to Disney -- YEAH FOR YOU!!! I hope you all can meet up someway, somehow.

DD asked me the other day, "when are we going back to Disney World?"

I asked her, "when do you want to go?"

She replied, "this afternoon."

A daughter after my own heart!!!

How cute!!! My daughter came in last night while I was working on my website and all involved and was singing, "We're going to Disney World in 4 months!" She had her "dreamed" Mickey ears and was just so full of that magical feeling - she kept saying that only 5000 of the ears were even made and she couldn't believe that we got them!

So Jay surprised me.... he planned a surprise trip to Disney in between my class schedule for October. He knew I was disappointed that we wouldn't be able to visit in the fall, so he planned a quick weekend get away. Although I'm under strict instruction that I have to bring my books with my and study a little bit while we are away.... lol.

So happy for you Haunted! What a wonderful guy you married!!! And so happy to hear that you MIL in doing better!

:jumping1:HELLO ANN (and her jumping smilies)!!!:jumping1:

So good to hear from you again! :goodvibes (It has been too long.)

Thinking of you and school and children and how it all feels and remembering how it all felt.....also wishing I could/would/would want to/would EVER run in races (or even run for that matter) like you do!!! Do you actually like it??

Suz D - I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. I would like to offer you a few hugs myself.

I hope you'll be able to enjoy your upcoming trip to WDW. If there is one thing that makes WDW so special to me it's that I can go there and leave all of my problems and worries at home.

Isn't that the truth! Leave worries at home -- can't wait!!

Hello to you too! I sure have missed all of your jumping smilies!

I'm glad your business is getting off to a good start! I know what it's like to try to loose weight. I've been trying to do that for a while now with no luck at all. My eating habits haven't changed, but I my work habits have. I spend a lot more time sitting down in front of a computer instead of walking around the plant.

Just 16 more days!!!

 Yay for Ann!!!

Thanks Brad!! Funny seeing the inappropriate bananas again!

Many thanks!! I'm almost done my 1st Trimester -- woo hoo!!! I'll feel better once we pass this big milestone.

Still soooooooooooo excited for you!!! Hope you are feeling great!

I'm usually here during the day, as well. It's lunchtime, and I actually brought my lunch today so I can catch up with you guys!

Hi if you are here!!! Late lunch by now though!

Hey Ann! I would have recognized those jumping smilies anywhere.

Nothing to report here. Say hi to the kids from me. I wish I could be there at Christmas to say hi in person - maybe next year?

Take care,
Cat

Cathie, if I go next year it will be without Ann'sDisneyMan....I have maxed him out on Disney both emotionally and financially...he wants to rest on his next vacation. He always says, "I know you can walk fast cause I have seen you at Disney!" Some of the parks are open until FOUR AM while we are there! I am sooooooo excited. He, not so much, he does love the lights and stuff though.

And remember: it's only 4 more months until the next CMO contest!! Alas, I think I'll have to skip it this time -- or just make a complete joke-giving birth video! :scared1:

OH NOOOOO............I don't know if I can go through that again......I haven't thought about it.........the next contest............it was soooooo emotional..........and it lead me here......so I am very grateful!

Darling Daughter Elizabeth, age forty-one next Saturday, is doing very very well with her liver cancer treatment. Her first surgery was bust cause they found a small lesion the the left side (her left) of her liver - so they closed and told us she'd have to have TACE - trans arterial chemo embolization. The drug is targeted directly to the tumor and/or lesion causing minimal side effects, a little fever is all. Her second ride will be in about two weeks at UWMC in Seattle. She calls her Interventional radiologist Dr. McDreamy, but to his face he is Todd. Very cool physicians - very lucky girl!! I like the chocolate covered donuts in the hospital cafeteria.

The preceding paragraph is an excellent example of "the drugs are great, the setting quite spectacular, the techniques unbelievable", but the ringer is, the answer is... your thoughts and prayers. Bless your hearts.

Love you all very much. Forgive me for being tardy. You are all amazing!!
Doodah

You are a wonderful Dad and you are all in my prayers!

Thanks Cherbear...I think he's cute too. It's a good thing too, 'cause he has some 'jacked up' teeth. Some of his teeth are bad.......and I mean BAD. We just had a dentist appt again this morning and it's so sad seeing him in the chair with a bright orange plastic nose (so he can breath in the mild laughing gas). He's really funny though....the things he says are hysterical. He kept quoting a line from a Veggie Tales video we have playing in the van...."Have you ever been pounded? My cousin was once....he's soup now!" So very funny to see his bright blue eyes peeking out from his large orange nose and his little mouth was droopy from the anesthesia and then to quote the line with perfect inflection. Can't help but make you smile.

Hope you're having a great day..... :)

Amy, we used to use "Veggie Tales" as a unit of time, as in, "Mommy, how many Veggie Tales till we get to Grandmother's house?" I soooo miss those days.....they are gone almost before they start.

Hope everyone's day is going well! I am going to get out my ADRs and post them now......see you in a bit!

Hey Mrs. Fleagle, did you hear the one about the Sesamee Street Bus?

No

Once there was this bus which happened to be from Sesamee Street. On the bus were some very strange people with very strange things to do. First there were two identical twins whose names were both Pattie. They were very big and muscular, especially for women. Next there was a man named Ross. He was a extrodinary guy so he was dubbed "Special Ross". After that there was a hefty, overweight man named Leonard. Since his cheeks were so puffy people decided to nickname him "Leonard Cheeks". Finally, all the people on the bus had bunions at which they feverously picked and scratched.

What do we call this bus filled with strange people? Of course; we call them: "Two all-beef Patties, Special Ross, Leonard Cheeks, pickin' bunions, on a Sesamee Street bus!"

All right, I'm calling security right now......

Cathie......I just looked at the map and remembered where you live.....are you okay?

Aren't there more DISers around the same area?

Tooth are you there too? Calliaz? My memory is failing me right now....

My prayers are with all of you -- come to dry NC if you need!

Ann :grouphug:

I just spoke with Cathie and all is well right now....she is going to post herself.....just wanted to get this in quickly though......she is working hard storm prepping for herself and others.

I checked out my DIS contact sheet (thanks Amy) and that cleared up some of my memory issues too with regard to location.

Looks like all our friends are okay then?

Prayers continuing for those affected! Ann :grouphug:

Hey Ann! Don't worry - I'll just "Keep on Swimming, keep on swimming..." :rotfl2: (this is not me rolling on floor, but me doing the back stroke!)

Seriously, for those of you watching Hurricane Ike, my little area of east Texas may get some bad weather. Normally, we are the place people evaucuate TO, and though we have some evacuees, this time they are telling most people to go to San Antonio, and even Dallas!

We will get lots of rain, and high winds, so there is a chance we might lose power, water, etc. I've done all my girl scout preparedness, so Bailey (cat) and I (Cat) should do just fine.

I'll try to post as long as I have power - so no worries - okay?

Just finished filling up my H3. The sign at the station listed the price for 87 octane at $3.99, it was still $3.79 at the pump. I also filled up my Ninja 250 at $3.99 at a different station. All in all, it took me about an hour to do both. I have heard rumors that there are some stations already over $5 and some even as high as $6. I leave in a week to go to WDW. I really hope it goes back down before then. Otherwise, Disney won't be getting as much money as they thought they would.

OH MY GOSH -- MY SON AND I ARE LAUGHING SO HARD.......

I pulled up your pre trip report and saw the picture of the bacon and if that alone isn't funny enough, we then read the story! I even did the grandma kind of voice that I envisioned her having and said aloud, "OH GIRRRRRRRLS......"

But honestly, just the picture of bacon as someone joining you.....thanks for the laugh!

p.s. my wonderful husband informed me last night that no matter what I said I can not make him "want" to go to Disney (we have reservations over Christmas and he is going with us) .... he just keeps saying that the trip is for me and the kids and he thinks it is way too much money and not his "thing." :scared1: I do wish we shared the same passion for it!

But "Bacon" -- that just made me laugh and think I should be going with your family!

Why am I so hungry for a processed breakfast meat all of a sudden?:rotfl:

I stocked up on all the stuff like peanut butter, tuna, and bread in case the electricity goes out. But I tried to be good and not buy junk food. Now, I am SOOOOOO regretting not having fun stuff to just munch on!

Boy, Galveston is already getting hit hard, and the hurricane isn't even there yet! Galveston is about 3 hours from here.

They are saying Bryan/College Station will get Tropical Storm winds starting at 7pm tonight, and Hurricane Force winds will be here by 7am tomorrow. Yikes!

For now I am fine, and just waiting for the lights to go out!
