The Adventurosity Club

Wow, Mrs. Fleagle! That's a lot of tiaras! 'Sounds like princess/diva heaven! (How many students perform in your recitals anyway?!)

Well, they were actually rhinestone headbands that I ordered.... and they were for my Company members. They like a little extra bling to set them aside from my regular classes in the recital. Total I have about 250 students ages 2 to adult. But the tiara/headbands were for just for them.

Most studios have companies for competition....but I don't really believe in competition for dance. Just my opinion, and I'm in the minority. My companies just dance more often and have some extra perks. We perform at nursing homes and parades and stuff, not competitions. I went to a dance competition once....years ago....and a group was there and all the parents and teachers from this school had hats and t-shirts made that said..and I'm not kidding..... "Been There, Won That, Wanna Win More!"
Horrible! That made my decision easy.... Anyway, got a bit off topic there. Sorry.

I graduated in '91.

Cox, huh? (I guess we were rivals! :) )

Why am I so OLD! Oh well, Kempsville was a great school... athletically for sure! Cox had wrestling and field hockey and that's about it. So weird that we were so close though....It's A Small World After All. (haven't I heard that somewhere before? :confused3 )

"Been There, Won That, Wanna Win More!"???? Yikes!

I think you're fostering a very healthy environment for your dancers, Mrs. Fleagle. :thumbsup2 (I'm sure a lot of the parents thank you, too. Life gets crazy-hectic and competitive enough as it is....)

Why am I so OLD!

I've decided that "old" is simply a state of mind. It's definitely all relative, 'cuz my definition of "old" keeps changing every year!

It's a sliding scale... I remember (back in elementary school  ) when thirty sounded ancient! :rotfl:

Exactly! Dance should be an outlet and a release, not yet another thing to get stressed about. That same school I mentioned had a dancer fall out of a turn and the look fear that immediately swept over her face and the look of death that gleamed from the teacher was devastating.
Anyway...quick disclaimer here...... If you do believe in dance competition and you, your child, your friend's child, or whoever....DOES compete that's ok. Remember, I said my viewpoint was in the minority. I'm sure it has it's benefits, but it's just not for me. Ok, end of that topic. :)

So true. I didn't feel as old until I came on "Board" with all you young whipper-snappers! But hey, since I have a friend in BTM I can always look as young as I want, right? :rotfl:

Talk to Cat, our resident Graphic Artista. (I'm sure she could hook you up with a little Crayola-inspired something! ::yes:: Her crayon renderings are 'da bomb! :woohoo: )

Thanks, Cat! :flower3: (You rock!)

oh yes, she's wonderful! I like her B&W's but did she do yours too? I've always been curious and never asked...

Unfortunately, must get some work done now. So peace out! :cool2:

aww too bad!

Thanks for asking! :teeth: (Cat made the ones in my siggy -- but not my avatar.)

Now it's time for miniature "history lesson": Actually my avatar is from Andy "the Andimator" (screen-name: pose2pose). He's one of the Top 20 CMO contestants, who appeared in our original thread. (He still makes occasional appearances from time to time! Hi, Andy -- if you're out there! :wave2: Hmmm..... I wonder if he even knows where to find us now! )

Anyway, he's an Animator by trade, and he's very gifted at what he does. He bestowed a few lucky members of the DIS-nee Family with their very own personalized avatars. (If you look closely, you'll notice that Kenny the Pirate, Marshay, AnnDisneyFan, Disneyfalcon, and CalDisneyFamily have the same type of avatars -- all were "Andimated" by Andy the "Andimator." (Am I missing anyone? I know that BelovedMichael supposedly was a recipient as well, but we haven't heard from him in a very long time! :confused3 )

So I've cleaned the kitchen and found the bottom of my sink...... (wink to Ann ;) ) Does that count as getting work done?

Ok, moving on to another room in the house....but keep it going here, I like coming back and checking in...it makes me clean faster! :)

You should get one of these. They are great.
