Well, this certainly can't compete with Marshay's fabulous news, but I had just logged on to share something from my household, so I hope you don't mind if I go for it!

It's a BOY!

A three-legged Boy!

A three-legged kitty Boy!

That's right, my special needs kitty Bailey, now has a special needs little brother!

Sam is a very special 3 year old cat who has had a tough life. His original adoptive human mother was diagnosed with cancer, and passed away. During that tumultuous time, Sam was hit by a car, and one of his back legs was amputated.

My sister's cat rescue group has been trying to find a good home for him, but he needed a special place. My cat Bailey has FIV (the feline version of HIV - not communicable to humans), and I thought I could not have another cat. We did some research, and found that the newest findings show that Sam should be alright living with Bailey!

So Sam's been adjusting to life at my house - and he is doing well! It's Bailey who doesn't like having an interloper! And I can't even promise him a trip to Disney to make up for getting a new brother!

And since I'm babbling along here, Bailey's full name is George Bailey, as in the lead character in "It's a Wonderful Life." And believe me, he really DOES have a wonderful life!

Sam came to me with that name, but with the help of Tothesea, I have decided that Sam's full name is now Samwise Gamgee. Sam is one of my favorites from the Lord of the Rings, so it works perfectly! After all, Samwise had to go through great trials before settling down to domestic bliss in Hobbiton!

I have to say that the people on this list all have something special about them, and I'm always amazed to hear their stories. Your story in particular is so wonderful, and I mean that sincerely.

Ok, my last Craft project was my Mickey Head Christmas ornaments...(yeah, I did scrapping but nothing else). So last night I made these (you might recognize the bat if you get Family Fun magazine):

They are made from mini-fake pumpkin/gourd, paint and foam. It was fun to do. I'm hosting a "Halloween No Carve Pumpkin Party" on the 15th for some of DD's friends and we're going to make these and a few more things.

Oooh - I always knew that name combo would work well for cats!

I still watch the I Love Lucy reruns on TVLand, and I really want to buy the entire series eventually. (Kinda expensive...)

One of my unfulfilled wishes at Disney World relates to Lucy...remember the old interactive thing they had at the then MGM-Disney studios? I can't remember the name, but it put you in the scene of Lucy at the candy factory? I always wanted to get picked to do that...but alas, it closed before I got to do it!
