The Adventurosity Club

We are splurging on our first trip, and going with the deluxe dining plan. It seems like so much food, but we really want to try a lot of different places. We are traveling with a lot of DH's family, but they are on the basic dining plan so I know we'll be eating a lot of meals on our own.

And since they still have not posted November park hours yet, I'm having a hard time planning out our reservations. I have all the places sketched out that we want to go to, but it's just making sure we're not missing a parade or fireworks show.

Very cool! I'll be interested to hear how the deluxe plan goes...we've done the basic plan twice now and found it to be a lot of food (more last year when the appetizer was included) and like you said, you really have to plan your day around where you are eating. Next year, I need to make sure to spread out our TS meal more among Breakfast, Lunch and dinner. We didn't do any Breakfast this time so we found our afternoons or evenings cut short to make room for the meals. Also, we ate most of our meals in Epcot -- next time I will plan more TS in the other parks.

But I love being able to go to new restaurants -- my mom and I are already planning our next trip meals!

first of all....Good morning everyone!

Secondly, I think I missed the questions everyone is answering. I skimmed when I played catch up after my weekend in Texas, and I must have overlooked them.

And thirdly, if I'm not around too much in the next couple of weeks, it is because I might be having surgery to remove my gallbladder. I am hoping I can get it out soon. I haven't confirmed gallstones yet but I'm going this Saturday for an ultrasound. I have ALL the symptoms. If I don't have them, I will probably need another test to determine if my gallbladder is just dysfunctional.

I just wanted to let my Adventurosity club members know what is going on!

If anyone is interested, I started a 'gallbladder thread' here:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1823503

I've gotten a LOT of response already, but if any of you have ever had any gallbladder troubles, or are having troubles, I'd love to hear your story. Please drop on by!

CherBear, if gallstones are anything like kidney stones all I have to say is "ouch, ouch, ouch". I'll be thinking of you. The upside is that the relief you feel when it's all taken care of is beyond unbelievable.

Regarding the questions...kigerkat has added them to the very first post on the thread. We are hoping to answer them as you have time and add to them as well to keep our conversations going through the very busy summer.

Suz had suggested the conversation starter a couple of pages ago, so I added them to the first post. If you have any ideas for topics, let me know and I'll change them!

And I'm sorry to hear about your gallbladder! I had some issues with mine a few years back - I'll check out your thread in a bit. Get better soon!! :grouphug:

thanks for telling me...I will have to go check 'em out!

They are painful but not like kidney stones. I think they can pass and they will go through the intestine. But it is not like passing kidney stones. I don't know if they break down in the intestine or what. But I do know I've never seen anything like that.

okay, thanks!

Oh, what were your issues? Did you not have it removed? Thanks a bunch!!

Okay, first realistic: To win the night's stay in Cinderella's castle this September!! (I consider it realistic, because it IS the YOMD, and they ARE offering it. But is it likely? Absolutely NOT)

Non-realistic: To take a month long trip visiting all the Disney Parks around the world, and a Disney cruise afterwards. :cloud9:

I just posted my story on your thread. I didn't have mine removed, but my doctor did warn me that I may have problems with it in the future. So far, it's been about 10 or 11 years and nothing yet!!

yeah I just saw that...what a crazy story! It sounds like you had the HIDA test. I am hoping I don't have to get to that point at all. Hoping the ultrasound will do the trick. I've spent way too much time and money on trying to figure out what's wrong with me already!

okay, I had to go look this up now because I was curious. Here's what I found:

Gallstones usually form in the gallbladder and remain there. (Rarely, they may dissolve and disappear in the gallbladder.) On occasion, however, they can pass from the gallbladder and into the duct leading from the gallbladder to the intestine, the common bile duct. If they do not get stuck in the duct there usually are no problems except possibly a transient episode of pain. If they get stuck in the duct for a prolonged period, they can obstruct the flow of bile through the ducts. This may lead to jaundice, infection in the bile (cholecystitis, cholangitis), or pancreatitis (inflammation of the pancreas). It is generally not considered a good thing to be passing gallstones.

I found that on medicinenet .com

For those of you who might remember Eric's diagnosis of PSC (primary sclerosing cholangitis) those issues led to the removal of his Gall Bladder. We were in Charleston, SC at the Medical University of South Caroline because that was where the premiere physician in PSC was located. Anyway....he had his removed as part of that whole process and it was quick, easy, and not a difficult recovery. Not to belittle it at all, just don't want to you worry too much......I hope you can avoid the surgery, but if not then rest assured that it will be OK! Thinking of you!

Wow - CherBear -- I'm sorry to hear you are having gallstone/gall bladders issues and my thoughts and prayers go with you. Please keep us informed!

wow....I never heard of PSC. GB removal seems to be very common so I'm not worried. I just want this sucker out of me! And if this doc won't do it, I will find someone who will! It's given me more trouble than it's worth! (Okay so I have to get the ultrasound first, but I'm certain now that it's my gallbladder. I'd bet my husband on it. :lmao: )

thank you! I will certainly try :goodvibes

Ahhhhhh.......

That sound you just heard was me finally exhaling! It's been an insane two weeks......and while it's not over, it is at least Thursday night and my Parent's Visitation and Awards Week is over at dancing school. Wheww......man, I am exhausted! Such a stressful week but so much fun for the moms and dads and the students.

Anyway, I have Picture Day all day Saturday and then a couple more weeks of classes and finally our recital is June 7th. So much going on....not to mention all the end of the year regular school stuff.

So, just wanted to say Hello to everyone! Hope you all are doing well and smiling.....:lovestruc

Good luck with this busy spring time! So much celebrating and progressing to do! I've been extra busy too but checking on everyone is always one of the sweet parts of my day.

I think you should shoot for the second one too!

HMF - Congratulations on not spending any more time than necessary in a not right situation. I'm glad you had a soft landing! Way to make your siblings proud..

I'm on #236 of 270 photos to edit...it's going slow...but my parents are in town so I really don't feel like I can ditch them.

I will start my post-trip report this weekend. The link is in my siggie for anyone interested (hint, hint) ;)

Bon voyage HMF!!!!!
Can't wait to hear all about your trip.
Have the best time ever!

Today is the day!!!! Wheeeeee.... the Jeep departs for the airport at 6:30 pm.

Woo Hoo!!! I'm so very excited for you!!!:cool1:

FYI -- I did find a limited amount of Disney stickers at Wal-Mart ... they were cheaper than what I can get at home for regular price ... so I just bought the ones that my ACM/Mike's don't have. I was happy!
