Didn't vote because ALL of the Addams Family versions are unique in their own way. I don't want to compare them. Obviously the TV program I watched growing up so it will always be in my heart. I think they did a great job of trying to recreate that feeling with the 1991 movie. I did not watch the 2019 animated version but think I will now. And now Wednesday - watched for HOURS last night, not sure where we stopped but I think we might have found Tim Burton's new place to be. The casting, the writing, the storytelling ... excellent. I hope this is more than a season, I could see new plots each season.
They had him look like the animated movie / cartoon ~ I'm more bothered by his weak character. I imagine after John Astin and Raul Julia they were avoiding trying to replicate the look, but they could have given him more confidence.
This is the 90's animated series that came out after the Sonnenfeld film. It had John Astin as the voice of Gomez and Rip Taylor as Fester. It's actually quite delightfully insane!
Yes, I like Gomez as a suave ladies' man; he needs to "match" Morticia. While I like this actor -- can't think of his name -- he's not right for the role.
I havent' seen the Wednesday show yet, apart from clips. The dance scene was funny. Tim Burton did the first two or three episodes, I think.
Haven't seen the Charlize Theron animated ones yet either.
I like the new Morticia and Gomez. Luis Guzman actually fits the mold of the original Gomez from the Charles Addams cartoon (who I'm guessing was based on Peter Lorre).
Astin and Julia were great, of course. I prefer the original show! However, Chris Lloyd as Fester with Joan Cusack as Debbie were the real underrated power couple of the 90's versions.
