Yea....Right...
Well...here I sit. Retired now for 2 years. Comfortable and secure in the thought that I certainly have enough points (200) for ME to enjoy the "Magic" at my leisure and whenever I want..and till I'm 97.
Reading all the posts about multiple contracts and add-ons and saying to myself... I don't need any more...they have families, mine have passed... think about the extra $$ and constant increases in mtc fees..not to mention the initial price!! NO...not me!!
OK Carol lets focus on this autumn of your life...
You have spent the last 33 wonderful years, with DH, visiting WDW, every year, sometimes 2-3 just watching the Disney Magic grow...and lovin' it!
DH's passing has taught you that job, career and money truly mean..nothing!
Family IS everything!!
Life is really too short!! Too late too wise!!
You're still kicking yourself for NOT buying OKW...way back then..but..job, career and money were the issue...not a DVC.
Comes the dawn...through the tunnel..
You bought the BC..finally..so that you can be in the midst of Disney..and because you live on the water in NJ and really like the theme.
The easy access to MGM & EPCOT were a prime consideration in case, as time goes on, you might get mobility challenged or need a scooter..especially @ 97 when the DVC expires!
You do have extended family..who have little ones..who have never seen the "Magic"!
You love to do Disney...solo!!
No...200 points just aren't enough..
And on and on....
Bottom line:
Yes...you're right..
After all this soul searching...I decided I deserve this.
Yesterday, I called my CM, Gib, and was put on the waitlist for 100 more points. It was painless (except momentarily when I heard the price). He mentioned it would probably be about 2-3 months before I heard anything.
I know a resale would be somewhat cheaper but I really don't want to manage multiple contracts even though I plan on staying at other DVC's.
Sorry for being soooo long winded but I needed to share my feelings with you all. There really isn't anyone else who understands my "Love of All Things Disney".
Your Thoughts???
