Yea....Right...

Well...here I sit. Retired now for 2 years. Comfortable and secure in the thought that I certainly have enough points (200) for ME to enjoy the "Magic" at my leisure and whenever I want..and till I'm 97.

Reading all the posts about multiple contracts and add-ons and saying to myself... I don't need any more...they have families, mine have passed... think about the extra $$ and constant increases in mtc fees..not to mention the initial price!! NO...not me!!

OK Carol lets focus on this autumn of your life...
You have spent the last 33 wonderful years, with DH, visiting WDW, every year, sometimes 2-3 just watching the Disney Magic grow...and lovin' it!
DH's passing has taught you that job, career and money truly mean..nothing!
Family IS everything!!
Life is really too short!! Too late too wise!!
You're still kicking yourself for NOT buying OKW...way back then..but..job, career and money were the issue...not a DVC.

Comes the dawn...through the tunnel..
You bought the BC..finally..so that you can be in the midst of Disney..and because you live on the water in NJ and really like the theme.
The easy access to MGM & EPCOT were a prime consideration in case, as time goes on, you might get mobility challenged or need a scooter..especially @ 97 when the DVC expires!
You do have extended family..who have little ones..who have never seen the "Magic"!
You love to do Disney...solo!!
No...200 points just aren't enough..
And on and on....

Bottom line:
Yes...you're right..
After all this soul searching...I decided I deserve this.
Yesterday, I called my CM, Gib, and was put on the waitlist for 100 more points. It was painless (except momentarily when I heard the price). He mentioned it would probably be about 2-3 months before I heard anything.

I know a resale would be somewhat cheaper but I really don't want to manage multiple contracts even though I plan on staying at other DVC's.

Sorry for being soooo long winded but I needed to share my feelings with you all. There really isn't anyone else who understands my "Love of All Things Disney".

Your Thoughts???

Great post!
Yes, you do deserve it!
Disney is very good for our souls & spirits, and only a hand full of people can understand us.
When my mother passed away a year and a half ago, I decided to take dad on vacation. I wasn't emotionally ready to go to Disney World at that time, since it was her favorite place, so as dad would put it ''I was to go somewhere similar, but different'' as he wasn't ready to face ''the World'' without her either, so we went to Disneyland for the 1st time since I was 8. It did us a world of good.
Everyone needs a little Disney in their lives! :flower1:

Welcome to the club! Your thought process makes perfect sense.

The only thing keeping me from adding on more is my employer's limitations on vacation time, LOL!

Best wishes -

LOL Carol. My boss keeps telling me I need to take more time off! So I said fine, and bought a DVC and now, boy, is she jealous! :earboy2:

A beautiful post! You have really shared a lot of WISDOM in those few words.

Thank you for sharing!

I loved reading your post. I'm sighing and very happy that you shared your thoughts.

On a practical level, 2-3 months to get your BCV add on? That seems like a very good timeline.

Pixie dust!

My thoughts? I loved your thoughts. Thank you for sharing them with all of us. Your post is a keeper. :D

congrats on your enlightenment.........it was very nice to read you seem like a pleasant lady

What a wonderful post! You're right - you DO deserve this. Enjoy :)

My thoughts are that one can NEVER have enough DVC points, LOL! Good luck!

I love when someone can explain the true magic of Disney.thank you for sharing your story with us.on a side note my grandmother had moved down to Tom's River in the 1960's and I spent all my summers down the Jersey shore, swimming, fishing,I even worked the boardwalk at Seaside Heights as a teenager and this too is a reason I bought at the BWV.

Thank you - I really enjoyed reading your post and completely believe that yes we do deserve some good things in our lifes. :cool1:
