Day 8 Fri. Sept. 19
Today was our finish up day at MK. We grabbed the boat over and arrived about 9:15. I really felt like it was hotter than it had been all week. The humidity just seemed really bad to me. I was even having difficulty breathing. Im sure it was all in my perception after Isabelle had made her appearance on the east coast the day before and it hadnt been nearly as humid. Anyway, on our way in we were pleasantly surprised to find Daisy in Town Square but the line was really long so we regretfully moved on. It took us awhile to make our way down Main Street as there was some kind of filming going on and a lot of areas were roped off. We headed straight for Buzzs ride. It was a walk on. DS was really excited about riding and we all shared a vehicle. DH and I loved this ride. Jared and Fred did the shooting and I did the steering. DH did pretty well (Planetary Pilot) considering he felt my driving left a little to be desired. (Typical man that thinks a woman cant drive) For some reason Jared was a little overwhelmed on this ride and he wouldnt ride it again.
This really took me by surprise since he loves video games and such. I was disappointed that he didnt enjoy it more. We did a little shopping in the Buzz carts and then headed to Toon Town to try and find Cinderella and Piglet. We go in and find Cinderella is indeed waiting for us. YEAH!! DS was very happy to meet her. The down side is I began having some difficulties with my camera that morning and I think the pics of her and Jared are going to be blurry.
When we got out we spent a little while messing with the camera trying to fix it. Eventually it started working on its own
. have no idea why. I asked a CM to check where we would find Piglet
we were disappointed to hear that he wasnt at MK that day only AK. We headed to Fantasy Land per DS request. He wanted to do Pooh again. We got a FP because the line was too long and he decided he wanted to do the Carousel. I of course had told him about looking for Cinderellas horse, he was determined to find and get it. Unfortunately another little girl grabbed it just before us. Jared was disappointed but handled himself well.
A strange thing happened to us when we got off. When we went to retrieve our stroller there was a security guard standing there and he asked us if we had been at the Crystal Palace earlier. Evidently 2 sets of people there had the same stroller as us and one of them took the wrong stroller. They thought we had the wrong stroller. Lesson to be learned here: put your name on your stroller somewhere. He was very nice but we still felt a little like we had done something wrong and we had no real way to prove that it was ours. We headed back to Pooh and even with the FP we waited about 5-minutes. Next we headed over to Goofys Jamboree. We got there about 25 minutes before the show started and there was a lovely group of 3 gentlemen who entertained us by joking and singing. As we were sitting here waiting to get in I really started to feel pretty crappy. I just told myself to ignore it and I would be fine. We got great up front spot for this and all of us really enjoyed it. There was no Woody there though which I had expected and so this was mildly disappointing. There was Chip, Dale, Goofy, Jessie, and Bullseye. My only complaint about this show is that towards the end when they all get together for a picture we were unable at that point to be close enough to get one after all the dancing had dislodged everyone from their original spots. Next time I would have an adult on the floor with kids and an adult upstairs for any video and camera moments we wanted. When they shot off the confetti at the end Jared was so excited. He just had to have some and he insisted that it was pixtie dust! He enjoyed a lot of creative play with this for the next couple days. So this is where it started I realized I too had finally hit the wall.
I was beat and I was not happy about it either. We had planned to stay until the parade was over because we really wanted to see it. I was just really affected by the heat on this day and I knew I probably couldnt make it. We decided to get a bite to eat and then see how I felt. We went to Caseys on Main for some hot dogs. I must say it was probably one of the best hot dogs Ive ever had and it will be a dont miss for us in the future. We ate and rested but as soon as we headed back out I felt horrible again. With a lot of reluctance we decided to say good-bye to MK. As we were leaving I turned with Jared to have one last look at the castle (well not really as we could still see it from our room) and he said
.Its very pretty, Mommy. Can we come back and see it? I was practically a blubbering idiot!!
As we were leaving we ran into Daisy and Max and Robin Hood and DS just had to stop.
We headed back to the room and when we arrived we were greeted with quite a mousekeeping display. Nemo, dolphin, Thumper, Shamu were once again found watching Toon Disney. They were also joined by 2 of the most adorable kittys and hanging over Jareds bed a really adorable towel angel. It really was great. Jared loved it and I got a little teary eyed again.
This is what happens to me when I am too tired
blubbering fool!! I laid down thinking I would rest for a few minutes and the next thing I know I woke up 1 ½ hours later alone and very disoriented. I headed off to the pool in search of the family and had to soak my head to clear the cobwebs. We had a swim and then decided to head to Ft. Wilderness for dinner. We took the boat and took the short walk to the rest. We really enjoyed the buffet here. There was a lot to choose from and it was pretty much good cookin! Good value for the money. It probably isnt everyones style but I would do it again. We left with full bellies and headed back to the lodge and I spent the rest of the evening packing up before bed.
Coming up . a little disappointment, the trip home and some final thoughts.
