I've heard Liesa referred to as a lot of things (mostly by her), but even I wouldn't tread in THAT water!!! It's one thing to be agreeable, but sheesh......
Great job on the race! Not surprised Mike did so well. He spent so much time leading up to the race making frequent runs to front yards and such!!!
Okay, now off to research those letters! Well, at least that "S" since you apparently had sympathy on us and finally gave us a GIMME with the other one.....
Thanks, Marv!!! I know you THINK you run as slow as grandma, but I still would wager you are faster than yours truly.
Mike said if he'd done the "pump and run" event, he'd have smoked everyone who competed!!! He is VERY strong in benchpress, so I don't doubt it! Ah well, live and learn! Yes, he had had some serious pre-event training in the 100 yd. barf and dash.
A gimme has to show up once in a while.
CONGRATS on the run. Wow, what a great accomplishment. That's kinda crazy the slightly heavier woman was able to keep ahead of you. Maybe she had more muscle tone. At any rate, you did amazing!
Thanks!! I actually sat and talked to her for quite a while after the race and listened to her story...
She told me she was severely overweight for a long time, but came to "her bottom" when she started getting diabetes. She worked as a personal assistant to a business tycoon, and when he died she was out of work. So she started running when she got a temp job at the hospital. She did the same program I did (the C25K) but stuck with it as a goal to run the whole stinking race. I decided earlier that I was going to walk some of it, so stopped at the 20 minutes running with walk breaks. Anyway, she (literally) prayed through the whole race. She told me over the course of her 1 year training, she lost over 100 pounds and was no longer a "diabetic"!!!! I was absolutely elated for her; what an accomplishment! She was also the winner of the random drawing for the IPad, which I am insanely jealous about, but know she was far more deserving than I. Kudos to her!!!
*shudder*
You are stronger than me. This would feel like getting up extra-early for an IRS audit.
Or a TSA pat down.
They probably like brussels sprouts, too.
In between their slices of pizza with radicchio.
Good job hitting your goal!

I can imagine the trail of fire you left behind, and it's beautiful.
Think Chariots of Fire; Liddell would have been proud!
Chick Fil-A > Taco Bell. Sorry, I had to say it.
Not even close, Loser. Chick Fil-A= nada frijoles.

That's AWESOME! Great job both of you!
Thanks!!!
And thanks also for giving me a new creative substitute for profanity!
Thank GB. Most creative expletives writer ever.
Exactly.
By the way, I meant to comment on the Kentucky humidity. I agree with you, I've never experienced humidity quite like Kentucky's. Back before kids, Judy and I took a couple of short-term mission trips to the coal-mining areas and we learned that we each had to pack 2 towels. It took 2 days for them to dry, so we'd alternate them every other day. On our first trip, when we only packed 1 each, we'd constantly have a damp towel.
It was insane. I've never felt anything like it. And this being only the 2nd day in civilization- to experience it like that was just too much!!!
Damp towels are hard to deal with- unless you're trying to make possum soup.
we used to call each other "fart knockers" in school growing up,
thanks for bringing that memory back, i forgot all about it.
great job on finishing second in your bracket.
i bet there was at least 3 other people in your age catagory that u beat.

Really!!?? Maybe that's where he got it from!!
I"m sure there were, Dan, I'm sure there were!
