Why do I believe that, Dan?? :rotfl2:

nothin...that I know of!

IIIIII knooow what you'll be doiiiiing. :goodvibes :yay:

We will be in Eugene on Nov 6th! That would be perfect for me!

This is mostly for the guys out there....

Have any of y'all heard of the t.v. brand NEC?
The control freak in me....or maybe it's the research freak in me is a little unsettled with the fact my DH bought a t.v. that he knew nothing about from a close friend (for a good deal I might add) and I didn't have a chance to look anything up about it.
My DH is a brilliant man, but sometimes I like to do things before jumping into them, is anyone seeing the DISer coming out in me as you read this.
Since I don't seem to find much about this brand I'd thought I'd ask around.
Thank you. :)

I know NEC makes electronic cash registers....

Well, there's doofus Act II of the night right there. I thought she was talking about an NEC like it was a thing. Not a company. :lmao:

You're so silly! Go to bed, Liesa! I forgot to say good bye! We're leaving on Friday for our cruise - like I said on Cynthia's TR, playing Planes, trains and automobiles to get there! I'm sure you can relate, only we aren't bringing children! Don't get too far ahead! Pray for us! TTFN! :wave2:

OMG you Doofus! That is SO something I would do. Oh wait, I did do that 2 weeks ago!

:lmao:

I want to know the train part...is there more than the MCO train?

Have any of y'all heard of the t.v. brand NEC?

I have heard of this brand and did a quick research here. One NEC TV got extremely high marks in a German consumer test magazine. So I think your DH might have really got a deal! :goodvibes

OMGAWRSH!! You are NOT going to believe what I just did!!! Well, a little earlier...
See? D for DOOFUS!!!

What a shock that must have been! But it sounds like everyone had a nice evening anyway! I guess it will be one of those stories you will get to hear for a long time! :goodvibes

The house we moved into, which is stocked and maintained by our church for missionaries coming home for a spell, didn't have one. Fall is my favorite time of year as far as decorating and cooking go- so gotta enjoy it to the hilt with a themed apron. I'll post a picture when I'm done butchering the sewing of it.

Sounds like a good plan! If you need one anyway, get one for your favourite season. :thumbsup2 I will be looking forward to your pictures.

I am really happy to be reunited with my sewing machine and have great plans to make some more tote bags/shopping bags. I have had this project going for quite some time as I think those would make great little gifts. :goodvibes

I should wear one, but I don't. :rolleyes1 I have seen some really cute ones though.

My mother used to be a home economics teacher and she really taught us how important an apron is. And it really helps to keep your cloths clean when cooking! :thumbsup2

You Too?!? I have a Valentine one, but that's about as far as it goes for theme's, which is out of character for me, and then again it's not! :scratchin :rotfl: I'm all about decorating for the holidays, but then I'm also very practical.....incase you were wondering why I seemed like such a waffler. ;)

You know, when I posted about wearing an apron I thought that you would be another of Liesa's regular who I would think would wear an apron! :thumbsup2 And as an apron wearer myself, I mean that in the nicest way!! :goodvibes

Sounds like something I would do Liesa! :rotfl2: You did a great job of pulling it all together. Your brain is just going too many directions with all the new/old things you are dealing with!

I was thinking the same thing Tammie, if I'm out of my element even for a couple of hours I'm forgetting anything and everything that I need to remember, even if it's something that I normally do. :confused3
I started setting alarms on my cell phone so I'll be reminded well before hand what I need to get done or get to.

I have calendar issues. REally, I do. At least right now. I'm not normally THIS doofed out, but this one really took me by surprise. Luckily we have a lot of Kazakh hospitality mind-set steeped inside of us. I put on a smile, and basically told them they have 2 choices... Drink wine for an hour and a half while dinner cooked OR go out. So glad they took choice A.

Everyone does this from time to time, it's perfectly understandable you and your hubby are a bit off right now considering what major changes are happening in your families lives. Take deep breathes, stop beating yourself up and allow yourself to adjust without pressuring yourself with more than you need to right now.

THAT'S WHERE I'VE SEEN THAT NAME! It totally had me perplexed, shoot I've probably worked on one! We have the t.v., and it's decent I guess. But I think I'll be adding it back on the list of things to get my DH for a gift someday (maybe our 20th next year), I'm not sure this one will work out. :confused3
See! This is why I like to research and mull things over...heck it took me three years to find a comforter I really loved and thought was worth the money, and that's just for our bed! You can only imagine how hard it was to find out he just bought it without much thought to it. Bless his heart, I haven't said a word and I won't. I guess I'm being stretched to learn to let things go. :goodvibes

I second that Tammie, it's a good thing she's probably already in bed by now, bless her sweet, little, confused head. I think we need to tag team another one on here Tammie. KWIM? :lovestruc
I hope you have an amazing trip sweet lady! Can't wait to hear all about it when you get back, be sure to call me when you can chat over a glass of wine. :goodvibes

OMGosh! You have no idea how much better I feel! Thank you Magdalene!! :goodvibes

I am really happy to be reunited with my sewing machine and have great plans to make some more tote bags/shopping bags. I have had this project going for quite some time as I think those would make great little gifts. :goodvibes

My MIL bought me a sewing machine right after having my firstborn, I've made a few costumes for the kids over the years...but I realize I'm not one who is blessed in the sewing department.

My mother used to be a home economics teacher and she really taught us how important an apron is. And it really helps to keep your cloths clean when cooking! :thumbsup2

My Home Ec. teacher taught us the same thing. :goodvibes

You know, when I posted about wearing an apron I thought that you would be another of Liesa's regular who I would think would wear an apron! :thumbsup2 And as an apron wearer myself, I mean that in the nicest way!! :goodvibes

I truly take that in the spirit it was meant in. :goodvibes It's sensable, I can't tell you how many shirts I've almsot ruined when I don't have one on.

Why do they keep moving the smilies into a different configuration?!? As Cynthia would say....AAAAAAAAAACK!

Magdalene, I forgot to add that I would like to see what you end up making with your sewing machine, I may not be great at sewing, but I can sure appreciate what others are making. My mother and grandmother could sew up a storm. My mom actually majored in home economics back in high school, back when they use to have such a thing. She would babysit over the summer and then use the money to buy her wardrobe for the following school year, she would get lots of material (back in the day when it was economical) for her skirts and blouses and then she would literally make most of her wardrobe, she could whip out a beautiful outfit in one evening! She would buy the shoes and sweaters and what not to complete the rest. I would give up my new t.v. to be able to sew like that! :rotfl:

This is mostly for the guys out there....

Have any of y'all heard of the t.v. brand NEC?
NEC is not a new company. They have been around for a while. Haven't done any specific research to compare their products to other brands, but I would be comfortable with getting a good deal on one of their products.
I know NEC makes electronic cash registers....
They may, but I THINK you are referring to NCR, which stands for National Cash Register.

:thumbsup2

I completely, 100% thought (and even had it on my calendar written) that they were coming on Saturday night. :scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1:

So 5 people show up at the door. The meat, by some amazing miracle, was purchased on Monday, but was frozen SOLID!!!!!

Back before kids, Judy and I went on a short-term mission trip to rural, Appalachian Kentucky. One expression we learned is that when company shows up unexpectedly you say, "I'll just knock a tater on the head, 'n churn".

Millie, I've heard of NEC and think it is an okay brand. It's probably not as well known as Sony or others, and I don't know where Consumer Reports would rate it, but it isn't a "fly by night" company.

OMGAWRSH!! You are NOT going to believe what I just did!!! Well, a little earlier...

I get this phone call at 6:00...

I had invited my DH's Aunt her BF, her son, and her 2 grandsons over for dinner, and somehow spaced it out. I completely, 100% thought (and even had it on my calendar written) that they were coming on Saturday night. :scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1:

So 5 people show up at the door. The meat, by some amazing miracle, was purchased on Monday, but was frozen SOLID!!!!! I had already made sloppy joes for us, so that went back into the fridge, I whipped up a couscous salad, sent Bek to the store for bread (thank Heavens it is within walking distance), steamed a bunch of chard greens I had, and whipped up a huge batch of scalloped potatoes.

It was a good thing they brought 2 bottles of wine, because it was a lengthy happy hour we had while the potatoes cooked, the meat was zapped to thaw, and then grilled outside. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

See? D for DOOFUS!!!

Gee Liesa no HORSE MEAT or other Blankistan delight :rotfl2:Sounds like you did a fine job of spur of the momeent meal planning !!:thumbsup2

Millie, we've had some NEC things over the years. It's an ok brand. Not top of the line but not horrible either, decent.

And AAAAACKKKKKK it right on moving smilies....or more like ARRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH

:lmao:

Great. Now all day I'll be singing, "my bologna has a first name..." :lmao:

Gee Liesa no HORSE MEAT or other Blankistan delight :rotfl2:Sounds like you did a fine job of spur of the momeent meal planning !!:thumbsup2

Good point! She coulda whipped out some horse meat sausages and they would've said, "don't go to any trouble....we just ate."

i think im going to try that sometime, just show up at a friend/relative house and say were here for dinner, and make it seem like we talked about it and they invited us over.
:thumbsup2

Liesa, you crack me up! Good thing you knew how to whip up a meal fast!!! I'm sure by the time you were eating, everyone was getting pretty interesting if you guys were drinking wine!?!

Billie, I've heard of NEC and think it is an okay brand. It's probably not as well known as Sony or others, and I don't know where Consumer Reports would rate it, but it isn't a "fly by night" company.

What a great Rush song! I didn't know you were a fan Glen? ;)

Gee Liesa no HORSE MEAT or other Blankistan delight :rotfl2:Sounds like you did a fine job of spur of the momeent meal planning !!:thumbsup2

:rotfl2: Agreed!

Good point! She coulda whipped out some horse meat sausages and they would've said, "don't go to any trouble....we just ate."

:lmao: That's one way to turn away any unwanted guests :lmao:

Well I do own the "Moving Pictures" album....in storage somewhere.

Check your basement, right next to the receipts from the time you went to the county fair 10 years ago. ;)

All my old vinyl albums are in the basement. I originally typed that, then deleted it...but you were all over it! :rotfl2:
