I remember you had designated scents for your different resorts. I don't remember which one was citrusy though.

Ok, I'm all caught up, but I had to do it the way where I just clicked on your bookmarks and read each chapter, not all the in between, and I fear I missed some things because one of your posts said something about a job you didn't get. But I didn't read where you applied for a job.

Anyhow, WOW what drama your trip started out with, but glad that everything worked out with the egg stamp. Yikes about everyone getting sick, but glad everyone was well enough for your meet. The buildings, art, etc are breath taking. What fun tours and museums and things you visited.

Great souvies. And I would have been in that bakery every day, yummo. The pretzels had me drooling from several different posts/pictures.

Can't wait to see what happens next...

I had applied for a holiday job at a toy store wrapping gifts. Originally, I thought I'd get about 2 full months of work, but the owner's decision dragged on and on and on, making it really not worth it in the end.

This trip was filled with drama from beginning to end- we've only just begun!! The Germany part was WONDERFUL!!

I think I'd weigh about as much as a rhino on the Safari if I lived there!!

Liesa DO NOT give him ideas !!!!

I dunno, egging him on, is just so much FUN!! (As long as it doesn't involve me.)

It was mint AND grapefruit- 2 of the scents of my trip!! How cool is THAT!??

YES! You got it right! That lotion was a double whammy for the "scents of my trip". Mint was for POR, and Grapefruit was from the POP!! (Citrus) I have that lotion in my purse and use it almost everyday.

He just decided that he won't be joining us for THanksgiving unless he doesn't have to spend the night- which puts a burden on us.... that means we have to drive up the Mt. Hood and back in one day, AND 24 hours with cousins we see MAYBE once a year will be cut out. I'm sad, but you do what you have to do.

yes you do. We are full of our own Turkey attendee drama here so I can totally relate.

Their tests went GREAT today!! They passed with great marks, and a fun surprise for them was the board breaking. Mikki is known around her club for her HARD kicks, so they gave her an 8 mm board to break. Although it took her a few times she did it. And it took two Masters to hold it. THey are very proud of their brand new yellow belts!!!

Outstanding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I live in fear for the day Evan has to, or wants to, break a brick.

UGH! Board breaking is fun though, I love the mystery break he has to do at black belt testing, it's seriously cool. There is a video on my FB page of his first BB test if you haven't seen it, that is kind of fun to watch.

I hate when that happens!! But I was on last night too when they went down, but I pushed refresh for a while, and lo and behold it was UP again in about only 6 or so minutes. I think they only mix up the smilies sometimes.

The topic of discussion around the pool was would it be safe for everyone else if it went off while he was in the pool?

They gentleman who had a defib device inplanted said his went off while he was carrying suicases up the stairs at his daughter's house. He was mid stair and the device fired. Pretty much knocked him off his feet but just to a sittting position. That was his cue to slowdown. Some cue.

Love your souvenirs, especially the tin ornaments!! They are one of those old fashioned toys which made Nuremberg so famous for its toy production (therefore the toy museum) - Nuremberg still hosts the world's largest trade fair specialising in toys in February every year!

And tin figurines are very important in my family as well. My mother's father was a church conservator (he would restore old paintings and such) and his great hobby was to hand paint these tin figurines. I think you might have seen quite a few on display at my parents' house? He had a deal with one of the producers in Nuremberg where he would get two sets, both unpainted, one of which he could keep and the other one he would give back painted. He had a large collection and everyone in the family got some of his collection! My parents have some ornaments very much like yours which he painted himself.

No time to get to all the replies, but Glenn, I think the "B" is really an "S". Unless I'm totally cuckoo, and misunderstood what I think I was told once.

As someone already said, the word means foot!

And you are right, it is not a B, the letter is this sign: ß and it is a type of S. The letter is used to show that this is an unvoiced S - in case anyone would be crazy enough to want to find out more about this special letter, Wikipedia will be your friend.

But I rather thought it was very funny, what some people on this thread made out of it!

I think in the 60s it was quite comon for German girls to marry Americans who were stationed here. Two of my mother's sisters did that, that's why I have one aunt in California and one in Nebraska. And it still happens, a friend of mine has a sister who married an American whom she met while he was here with the military.

Yes I too am confused with MINCEMEAT as a dessert !!! I had to learn a lot of new words when I first came over here many years ago and every once in a while I will use the British word and get these puzzled looks !!

All the talk of the tin toys reminds me on the old Christmas show "Santa Claus is Coming to Town". The Claus' were the first toy makers to the king and the show had a German town feel to it.

Well, we had family birthdays and dentist appointments this week, too. Luckily no heart ailments though. Although that does remind me of when my dad had his heart attack. He drove. Won't let my mom behind the wheel. He also nearly cut his finger off in a boating accident, and insisted on driving the 45 minutes from the lake to the hospital that time, too. Of course, it was on his left hand, so no big deal

Since I am not very competitive rotfl I actually research these letters... Some are easier than others and sometimes I get Liesa's clue, sometimes I don't. Q is actually not so difficult, there aren't many things at WDW which have a Q in its name... Google pictures search is your friend in this game (well, it wasn't for the Mad Tea Party...).

I saw Harry Potter on Friday with my sister and our cousins (who are also our godchildren) and we all thought it was a lot of fun. But much better if you know the book!

I have the exact same bag! I love it and everyone here at work loves it to! I bought a different one for my DD that is black. I wish I would have gotten more.
