The move has gone very smoothly so far, the hardest thing right now, is getting Zachy in school, and trying to set up a zillion doctor/ dentist appts. for all of us. UGH!!

I am fairly certain, our paths will cross again- it's just a matter of time. And I'm also very sure our comfortable seating will be the best to be found anywhere in this world, or out.

Hmmm.... that is a great idea. I also have a couple of other games that I formulated during the trip. But for later.

Yes, I have too many ADRs already as I'm quite indecisive. Plus, I'm not sure how DD will be at 19 months old. At 9 months (our last trip) she often slept through meals... it was WONDERFUL!

This trip will be DH, me, and DD for 9 nights (first 3 off property at the Fairfield Inn at Marriott Village) as there was nothing available at DVC when I got the better airfare rates and changed our arrival) For 2 days my mom decided she is driving over from Clearwater and bringing my niece so those days got a bit messed up now since it was too late to change our preferred ADRs. As I type this I realize I might as well put in in a PTR since I'm already typing it for you, LOL... I'll shush now so I don't go so far off topic

Yeah, so late in the game, it's pretty hard to straighten out ADR's . I can tell you the crowds are VERY low these days. Maybe you should keep trying to get the ones you really want.

19 months. Hmmm... I'd say she'd be pretty easy going- far better than say a 2 1/2 year or 3 year old.

Yes, Salem is about 1 hour, 10 minutes from Beaverton, where I live now. Just got back, in fact. Picked wild blackberries and huckleberries, got mom's canner and jars, and am ready to get my first jams and applesauce up in the pantry. I REALLY missed canning!!!

I have exciting news to report!!! We just booked a FD trip for January staying at POFQ!

Strangers.

A trip full of strangers.

I basically had two separate trips planned at once. There was this trip - with Liesa and LeeAnn! I had talked to LeeAnn on the phone twice before left. Twice. We really were strangers! And we were about to share a room for a week! That takes some trust...which in this case was put in Liesa...who I had the pleasure of spending some time with in Nashville and we had talked a LOT. I have had tons of conversations with her here on the DIS, on Skype and the "regular" phone.

I considered Liesa one of my best friends before we even set out on this journey. But I was still apprehensive. Will we all get along? Had I understood what the plans were? Will the shirts I made turn out ok? Have I forgotten anything? Do I have their tickets? Will they just run circles around me all week? Will I even be able to keep up with them at all?

Then there was the Baker part of the trip. The Carson family. It was a little hard to get really pumped for our trip because there was a lot of anxiety in my mind about Baker's family trip.

How will he react in the parks? He has autism and is a runner...will he run off and get lost? Or hurt? What if their whole family hates it? What if they run out of food credits and money? Are they going to follow my touring advice? Will this even work at all?

What if I have to go help them and miss part of the beginning of OUR trip?

I barely knew Baker's family. I had met the whole family one time. I spent some time with Baker at his school a couple of times - but he had never spoken a word to me and I never thought he remembered me. And I had one more meeting with his Mom to give her the final trip info, shirts and some cash for the drive down. But that was it. They were strangers. And I felt responsible for their trip - since I planned it.

And what about my stupid feet? I knew two weeks before that I would have to rent a wheelchair. Will it work for the rides? Will it just be a pain and slow us down? What about the people around me? Will they just think I am fat and lazy? What if I have trouble getting on the bus? What if the other guests are irritated because I am so slow loading? What if the wheelchair battery dies in the park and Liesa and LeeAnn have to push me out? Urgh! So much stress! Should I even go?? (Yes, I actually had that thought once.)

Money. Needing a wheelchair added over $250 to the trip cost right there. And Baker's family was a little short on cash since the nurse added cost to their trip at the last minute. And I was making up any cost difference in their trip. So finances suddenly were tight.

Worry.

Stress.

Apprehension.

Probably not the best start to the trip!


But boy was it all worth it!!!!!
