Maroo, great pictures of the Baker family, and you and Cynthia did a great job on the t-shirts...I love them.

Liesa, I am sitting here with tears blocking my vision as I read your last update. It reminds me of walking into Epcot two years ago for the first time after my Dad died and getting on Spaceship Earth.

How sweet of the lady at the next table to take your photo and email it to you--and a great photo it is. And I love how the "young ones" are admiring you.

I know so many on here who've had Disney touch and form parts of our lives. TK, you, and so many others. So odd how it can be so powerful even now after they are gone, and yet how thankful we can be to them for making sure we knew how to play hard amongst the work.

It was one of those definite happy/sad kind of evenings. A flood of great memories came back at me; I miss her so much!

I don't know about that quote, but it sounds like something from a chick flick, like Fried Green Tomatoes or Steele Magnolias?

Where do I begin .. First I am called a Wart face , then picked on by Glenn in the guise of defending me !!!LOVE IT!!!!

I think I may remember that scene but it did not stick with me the way it did with you.

The plot was nonexistent, but what was cool is that many animated characters from all different studios came together for the film. Since Disney had the rights, I think they were hoping it would grow to be a great thing. I think they missed the mark and could not mesh all the different "styles" of storytelling from the various studios. Some gravitate more to adult- Betty Boop, Jessica Rabbit, and the Dip guy and some to children so they had a hard time.

I was reading the plot on IMDB and it looked rather complicated to me? I"m reserving judgement until I see it again. Interesting take on it, though, Pat! You may be right on the money in the take of it being too mishy-mashy.

I'm so glad you liked the shirt Liesa Maroo and I had fun coming up with the design. Here a close up of it, we were going for kind of a Poly Battle theme for Tate.

On a totally unrelated topic,

4 is way too young for Roger Rabbit! I loved it, but then again I was probably the target age at the time it came out.

I love how it has Tate holding a Peace thing too- brings in the POP!

I am definitely planning a visit to the Brown Derby for my next trip and your experience there sounds just lovely. I think I will go for the Cobb Salad and the grapefruit cake - which btw is kind of a scam supposedly. It is nothing else than a buttercream cake with grapefruit added but was sold to the starlets of the days as being healthy because the grapefruit would counter and fattening ingredients! I am glad that you did not fall for this! I guess that's why you are a real star, not a mere starlett!

It was so nice of her. I could see they were just about ready to leave and having to wait just short of forever for their check as well, so why not? Most people are so happy to do this sort of thing, so I had no problem asking. And I had pretty good results except for the shot at the POP taken by that older couple who clearly didn't know how to operate a camera.

The college guys might have been as loopy as myself... so I think it was a good call!

I hadn't heard that hilarious story of why grapefruit cake!! Sounds like the 5 second rule of getting dirty at my house. Although now, anything dropped is likely to have 25 dog hairs on it now.

But seriously, I do love grapefruit, but I love (normally) creme brulee more. Plus, I thought it would be a "lighter" choice after I stuffed myself silly on that enormous salad!! Which, even hungry, I only half of. Again, RIDICULOUS Disney portion sizes!

As for Broad shoulders , Mum always said the Lord puts his burdens on the shoulders that can bear them .. but she did not know Marv!!!

I think the art of god-mothering has been sadly lost in a lot of our culture. I'm glad you had one who cared so much to teach you bar-tending! and animal husbandry!!! I guess if you find some sort of correlation a good stiff drink after mucking the barn would be a good thing...

You two need to be locked up together for a week, and get all your grudges put on the table. Of course, neither of you might be left standing, so then again, maybe not.

This picture is fantastic on many levels. The obvious adoring fan. The servant Keith cutting your salad...and of course, the tribute to your Grandma.

When you mentioned us possibly meeting up-and then you spoke to Joe about it all - I laughed out loud. What in the world was I doing that I made Joe answer the phone??? LOL! Probably dealing with Henry or something...who knows!

Awww That was such a great update. Your grandma sounds like she was one cool lady. What great memories and what a lovely tribute to her. Isn't funny the small things that you remember and take with you for the rest of your life. One of my memories of my grandmother was making homemade ravioli. I remember pressing the fork all around the corners of he homemade dough. I still can conjure up that vision clear as a bell.

Apricot sour eh? Sounds delish. to the Cobb Salad. I love the BD. I have always had delicious food and wonderful service there.

The Brown Derby was HER!! She ate there many times (in the real Hollywood), and more than likely had her favorite cocktail- an Apricot Sour. So that’s what I ordered. And that’s when I got teary. It was hard to choke back the tears as I sipped my uber delicious drink thinking about all the goodness she brought to me. Can I also say that that was simply the best cocktail I’ve ever had?? Really and truly, she had good taste; the only other drink that I can say I enjoyed just as much was the Marg from the Cave. It was smooth, and went down WAY too easy. Had I not been on a budget, I’d have gotten another.

There was absolutely NO way I was leaving without getting a picture of this incredible moment for me, so I quickly scanned the room for a likely candidate to get a picture of me enjoying my time. I spied a group of college-aged looking guys, but was too shy (yeah, imagine THAT?!) to get up and go ask. They’d probably think I was drunk (which I was close to being), and opted for the family next to me who was waiting for their check. I explained the situation, and the mom was completely ready and willing to take one and send to my e-mail. When I got home, this is what I found:

For those of you who followed my pre-trip report, this was supposed to be a meal that was a tribute or “memorial” to my grandma who passed away the June before my trip. She was the epitome of loveliness in every way. The quintessential grandma who doted on me, but only just enough to make me feel loved- when discipline was called for, it was there. She was elegant, well-mannered, and VERY 40s. Bing or Frank was always playing on the wireless in the kitchen as she cleaned. Every summer, she was my world. We went to Dodger’s games, sushi bars before they were chic, she taught me how to prune roses, made homemade peach ice cream with me, dressed the quail my grandpa came home with, hemmed my jeans (I was a midget then too.), and watched me do backflips off the diving board for hours (THAT’S love!).

I this picture! The glow is something funky with the flash I think, possibly related to your dying battery, but wow, not sure if you could photoshop that out. Funny thing is, until you pointed it out, I didn't even notice it, it's such a happy, joyful picture I didn't even see the glowing green legs.

Bummer about the brulee, but thrilled you loved your drink so much. Amazing the memories food and drink have. For me, my grandma, is German Chocolate Cake and Black Forest Cookies. Which means someone better make me one on Monday...though I'm not holding my breath.

I think the nice, wonderful lady who took the picture had a POC camera- just like you!!!!

I think the flash combined with the camera's low light capability is the culprit here. I'm not sure if it can be photoshopped out or not.
