The ABC's of Trip Planning, Pt 1- K is for Keeping Things Kooky- Drinks V-Z; pg. 197 + New Link

Congratulations! I never got a pin myself, our school was not the most organized for things like that and they never told us when the day was to order them, then that day I had a crazy day and couldn't get to the guy and they wouldn't let me order it after that. There were a few of us. We didn't have a pinning ceremony anyway. We just had a regular Graduation with black Caps and Gowns at the College (Penn State) that was affiliated with the nursing school (was through a Hospital).

That really stinks!!! And not ok! :( I wonder if you could go back and find out from the school if you could order one now if you explained the situation? They just might.

Both will lead to strokes or heart attacks, but only one gives you brain damage along the way. (hint: it's not the blubber.)

I'll take Vodka for $100, Alex.

I don't even know what to say to that...

:lmao:

BLECH!! Not okay! (But I don't like it super crispy either.) I think in the case of this restaurant, they chose quantity over ANY semblance of quality!

I don't give a hoot if they're great if they do that when there's only me in the restaurant.
That's when the meals should be better!

YAY! A trip to Montreal!

::yes::

Did I miss it?

Yep.

I didn't think you were a fool.

I shall reserve comment on that.

But did she air conduct? Actually, this surprised me. Good girl! She's classy!

Shocked the crap out of me.
She plays classical and jazz at school. But normally she listens to much harder stuff.

I thought it was better than tripping as I walked up the steps in my heels.

But more or less comical???

Yes, and I did.

Ah. I got there after.

AWww, thanks. (Shhhh, don't tell anyone yet... but that's my Vic and Al's dress. ;) )

It'll just be between you and me.

See above.

I did!

Wow congrats again...such a huge accomplishment...and also...thinking on your feet with the speaker being late...that must have been super stressful but you pulled it off!!

Now...I want one of those jello shooters lol...and maybe I will whip some up in those syringes just for fun...seriously...:) LOVE THEM!

Good. I can have a fellow brain damaged friend.

That's when the meals should be better!

A very good point. I mean, how hard can it be to cook a GREAT meal for 1?

I shall reserve comment on that.

Probably a good call. :thumbsup2

Maybe she needed some downtime. I often listened to that on the way to class- especially before exams!

But more or less comical???

I admit, farting AND tripping would have been... memorable.

Ah. I got there after.

After I added the story?

Congratulations!! You're an inspiration!

I'm not sure about that. Just want to make my life count in big ways- go big or go home.

Thanks so much Kathy! It was the cause of much gastric upset. LOL! But in the end we were all pinned and that's what mattered!

Now...I want one of those jello shooters lol...and maybe I will whip some up in those syringes just for fun...seriously...:) LOVE THEM!

They were potent and tasty; a good combo in my book!! They were pretty cheap off of amazon.

The pinning sounds like a lovely event! And the party afterwards like so much fun!

Will there also be a graduation? I think there must, I don't see any pictures of you with your motor boat!

At exactly 6:15, we marched in to the Fanfare from Soarin'. That's what happens when a Disney Fanatic volunteers to plan the event.

Excellent choice!:thumbsup2

It was beautiful and seamlessly shuffled; my team and I had successfully saved our very first patient- the Pinning Ceremony!!!!

It was touch-and-go there for a while, but she pulled through.

To all of you who have watched me grow and learn over the last 2 years of school; THANK YOU!!!! Your words of encouragement and congratulations for each and every exam, presentation, Lab evaluation, whatever, has meant so, so much to me.

We had the easy part. Thanks for keeping us updated and not giving up! It's inspiring to see someone take on a challenge, persevere and succeed! Especially after having performed missionary work in the 3rd world and raised children! You are amazing!

That's just hilarious!:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl:

Nobody does jello shots like a group of nurses...

Congratulations on your successful graduation.

And I can't comment on everything, but skip Starbucks on Main Street and go to Gaston's Tavern for a cinnamon roll. You're welcome.

As for the Excel (or lack thereof) issue, if you download Chrome, you can use Google Sheets to edit an Excel spreadsheet for free.

It seems like just yesterday we were sending you off to school and telling you to play nice with others :goodvibes
Just completing Nursing School wasn't enough of a challenge for Liesa?

Congratulations!

For me these pins are a new concept, never heard about them until this thread. So the first thing that came to mind when I saw this was: Liesa got a medal like for a marathon!
Well when it takes that many years to finally earn your degree.......

It is a worthy pursuit. Along with wondering about why I can't get lettuce to grow, but have no problem with 50 varieties of weeds.
Is the lettuce one of the 50 varieties? (Sorry, that one was for Mark..... :rotfl2: )

Well, then you'll miss out on the chance at those dollar bills.
There was a joke about a g-string somewhere in there.....but I didn't want to run off any of your loyal followers.......

Hey Guys and Gals...

I have the interview in the morning at 10:00 PST. I've done a ton of research and have written out a bunch of answers that I'll go over again in the AM. If this is the job God has for me, then pray I do well.

I'll let you know how it went tomorrow, but on top of that, I have a (non) graduation story to tell. LOL! I'm such a moron.

I have been lurking until I could get caught up, glad to be able to say "Keeping my fingers crossed for 100%!!"

Kim

HELLO!! and a mighty big welcome to you, Kim!!! :welcome: I'm so glad you have come out of Lurkdom to say hello and join in! We be a fine bunch. pirate:pirate:pirate:

Thank you so much for the good thoughts!!! I'm definitely taking this one cautiously, as I was SURE I had the last one in the bag. Also definitely NOT going to ease up on any of the other applications I have out there. ...just in case. But it ended well with the head HR Lady saying she also thought it was a great fit for both parties. That was pretty re-assuring.

Happy to help! :D

Wipe that ridiculous grin off yo face.

Swinging by to see if more news.....

I will know a lot more after vacation and she is done gathering references. But there actually IS news in that, that may bungle the whole darn thing. See below.

Cautious congrats from over here!

It is best to be cautious for sure. I'm not one to count her chickens before they hatch. I'll keep putting in apps and resumes until I hear.

Yay! I am sure you will get it!

I sure hope so Tammie. I am getting a bit discouraged seeing all of my classmates getting jobs so easily. :guilty:
