The ABC's of Trip Planning, Pt 1- K is for Keeping Things Kooky- Drinks V-Z; pg. 197 + New Link

Something that might boost your confidence while you study for exam #1 - I wonder if there were mistakes on the tests of Math exam #1 and #2? Maybe you really passed those ones too, and this time you were so on guard that you found the test issue? You are a smarty pants, and I will continue to send good vibes your way!

HAHH! You may actually be right! I just hope I have the same amount of guard on Wednesday! So. Much. Stuff!

One word to help out in difficult times such as these.

Depends.

You're welcome.

:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

So I'm finally getting a chance to comment on your tenting update. Switching to AKL, you will love it! Are you staying at Kidani or Jambo? I really love Kidani, but Jambo is nice as well. We are planning a similar day to your (without the changing resorts to AKL) but we are going to have at late lunch at Sanaa before heading over to the AK to see the nighttime spectacular. I thought you might appreciate this Disney Blog post.

New Entrees at Sanaa

Enjoy!

WAIT! The same day??

We'll be at Jambo, and I need to ask Brook which room(s) I should request for the best Standard we can get. I certainly don't expect animals off our balcony, but a full-on parking lot might be avoided too.

I know my plans may change to some degree. I'm waiting for Park Hours to come out and then I'll take another look at tweek if I need to. (Gotta be extremely careful typing THAT one!)

Thanks for the link! I need to put in several more hours tonight in the text, so that reading will be my carrot on a stick/reward for 10:00 bedtime.

I have been away for awhile and had lots to catch up on. Congrats on the engagements. Great job on latest Math test.
I was born in Guam and always wanted to go back, but the prices are $$$$$. I remember hearing that my parents would fly my grandma out to visit, because 1 airfare was cheaper than 3 or 4 for them to fly back. They weren't military, so no hops available.

My sister and brother-in-law needed to do the civil ceremony in order for her to be added to his orders to England. (It had to be a civil ceremony due to him being Catholic and the church not recognizing the marriage otherwise). They had the ceremony back at his parents house later, right before they moved. It was a whirlwind. They got married (civil) in March, had the Catholic ceremony in July (after my sister went through a class) and moved to England in August. They had been dating and not engaged when he got his assignment. So, this was all very rushed. It was hard to find a civil ceremony place in Reno, NV. We thought it would have been easier than it was. So, the little Reno ceremony, just a couple of his friends, my parents and I and the couple, of course, were there. We didn't go to the "official" wedding. We weren't invited, but that was ok. Being in the military means making sacrifices. Neither of the ceremonies is what they would have wanted if they could have chosen. They will have been married 26 years this March and they have no regrets how it all played out.

Oh, by the way, my parents loved Guam. We moved back to the States when I was 3, so I don't remember it. But for them, it was the perfect place to start off their married life.

I forwarded your reply onto my DFDI. (Huh! Never typed that one before. :goodvibes:lovestruc) What a topsy turvy scenario. I'm so glad they don't regret it and it all turned out pretty good. I have to say, I am excited for them. Sounds like a fun and beautiful place. Those are exactly the reasons I am getting a job now. That and because I really LOVE being a nurse!

Thank you for sharing your story! I think it's fun for them to hear other similar journeys. :)

I'm a little late, but anyway… congratulations for passing the math test!

Just to say I ordered my first Disney Gift Card through my Disney Visa for a nice whopping $200 bucks!!

Normally I'd say "woot" but today it's a little more subdued.
Our Canadian dollar is nose diving against the US greenback.
That $200 gift card would cost me over $285!
A little over two years ago it would've cost about $205-$210.
Heck about three years ago it would've cost $195.

Our Hawaii trip is getting more expensive by the day... literally.

In addition, I also had a NICELY lucrative sale on EBay yesterday and my PalPal should be $100 fatter by Monday when the shipment arrives.

Nice! But I don't think I know (more likely just don't remember) what it is you sell on EBay?

As the trip gets closer, I may be adding something I've had my eye on for about a decade.

Oh? That sounds interesting...

Meanwhile, I'll catch up on a couple replies, but need to get back to this:

That's the weirdest recipe book I've ever seen.

When I used to travel to Canada, our $1 bought $1.35 in Canadian goods. I'd always make sure to have an extra day and go clothes shopping and be sure to find some of the better restaurants to use my per diem in what I used to refer to as "the land of 30% discount".

:wave2: Just thought I would drop by as requested and let you know that I put up an update on my current TR, and Final Thoughts on my Mexican Riviera Cruise. I'll have an update for the DLand ongoing TR sometime this week!

In the meantime, Happy Studying! and good luck on your first Exam!

Hey all! Looks like our host might be studying again....

Anyone have a favorite Disney recipe you like to make when feeling "homesick!"

Liesa, when you get back, just wanted to say congrats on your test score! I knew you would do it. Way to take care of business!

Finally getting a little caught up. Daughter home on college winter break (a month long!) and didn't get to everything I wanted to read.
First of all (I know a little late in mentioning it)...Congratulation on your Math Exam!! I'm so happy you got that off your shoulders. You work so hard, to have that stop you would have been terrible
I'm wondering if any one of the other two were flawed.
Exciting news about the engagement. I hope the in laws find a way to get behind them and make this a happy time for them. Sure adds a few more things to your plate. All will work out in the in, I'm sure.
I'm also sure that you will do great with you placement positions. Do want you know and you got this!
Don't mean to go on a little stray question, and I'm now thinking when would you have time for this, but have you seen the new TV show Code Black?
It's an exciting ER show. I had never heard of the medical term Code Black before.
Your AK plans all look good. I'm looking forward to River of Lights hopefully going by the time we get there too!
You make me feel like such a slacker. You seem to have a lot more planning figured out then me! I wish the park hours would at least come out soon. How do I plan ADR when I'm not totally sure where I'll be?
I have bought a few Disney cards along the way too. Hopefully a decent tax return will help the 'Disney" account- over the years with husband's unemployment, it's not where we wanted it to be.
Have to share a Xmas story. This was one of the first years the kids are older and got us something. Have you seen the money jars that keep a total of what's in it on the lid? Put coins in and it add it to a digital amount on top.
They got us one and had Disney written on it with stickers. They also put some $20 bills in it to get us started. Along with a sweet note on what we do for them and how they hope this helps us get to our Disney trip. Made us tear up.
I know you will be busy studying but let you know I'm sending you a big - good luck on exam!

Had a WONDERFUL first day of Clinical!! Such a fun variety of patients on a Neuro unit from Withdrawing Alcoholics having seizures, strokes, sepsis, trauma from MVAs, post-spinal surgeries and more. I really like it a lot. Too tired to type much more; hopefully replies tomorrow!!

I'm a little late, but anyway… congratulations for passing the math test!

Thank you, Katharina! I was dodging bullets on that one for sure! With that past me, time to focus on the next 6 Exams of this Term.

UGH! You might have to forego a day of coffee. Or in this case, all your coffee.

Nice! But I don't think I know (more likely just don't remember) what it is you sell on EBay?

Crap out of attics. In this case it was a ballgown I had sewn for a Regency Period ball I went to a few years back...

Oh? That sounds interesting...

I'm full of surprises!

That's the weirdest recipe book I've ever seen.

Funny story:

One or 2 days after my parents were married, on their honeymoon, my Dad who was still in his Residency of Med School sat straight up in bed in the middle of the night and blurted out,

"The recipe calls for a row of dead bodies."

My mom was a little freaked out.

Sounds like THAT's the place to travel right now! My family is talking about a trip up there next summer (2017) around the Calgary/Canadian Rockies. Maybe the dollar will stay strong that long. I could use some new Beaver Butt soap. Oh wait, never mind. Wrong Canada.

I will be there. Eventually! Hopefully tomorrow night I can take a peek at all my favorite threads!

I am. A lot. We'll see how well it pays off at 8:00 AM.

I need Disney recipes!! When school eases up in March, I want to start Disney movie nights with Disney snacks!

Good luck on the exam!

Good luck!! And happy cocoa drinking!

Thanks you two!!! By 10:00 PST, I should let you know. Pass or Fail. Really it's come down to above a 75% or not.

I know how hard it can be when we have kids come home. I always want to spend every minute I can with them!

I should probably call Emily's mom and see where they're "at" myself. A call I really don't wanna make. :(

I have not heard of that. At our hospital, a Code Black is actually a Bomb Threat. We still use Code Blue for a medical code situation. I do love ER type shows, but sadly have ZERO time to watch them. In fact, we don't even have a TV. I mean we have a monitor and a DVD machine (and actually a VHS machine too) for movies, but even those are fairly infrequent. I"m still trying to catch up on Downton Abbey when I get a chance to hang out with my oldest daughter who has Netflix.

Planning: It comes and goes in spurts. When I do plan, I plan like crazy! Finally got a phone app to remind me of important dates. I"m paranoid I'm going to miss my ADR or FP+ day. LOL! I too am anxiously awaiting park hours so I can fine tune our schedule. Should look pretty close though. We'll see. The only HUGE thing I see changing is AK evenings with the new show being added.

That is a super precious gift! I am super impressed! I think I would have gotten a little misty eyed as well.

Thanks for being here despite my absence for periods of time. Your encouragement and sweet notes keep me going!

UGH! You might have to forego a day of coffee. Or in this case, all your coffee.

These are the sacrifices I am willing to make.
Yes. I am wonderful in that way.
And... no. I don't actually drink coffee.

Crap out of attics. In this case it was a ballgown I had sewn for a Regency Period ball I went to a few years back...

Ummm..... Holy crap!!!
First off... My God, you're stunning.
Second off.... You made that?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? :faint:

Sooooo impressed.
