The ABC's of Trip Planning, Pt 1- K is for Keeping Things Kooky- Drinks V-Z; pg. 197 + New Link

Funny. I thought it was always only read for the articles.

That's what I was talking about. What are you talking about???
Hmmmm?????

Hot drinks are HUGE here. I mean it IS the PNW where cold winds blow.

You do realize you're talking about cold to a Canadian, right?

Still, I can't recall anyone around here even mentioning Irish coffee in years.

Lots of options with coffee (DUH), cider, or chocolate. Microstilleries are also making a HUGE appearance now too, so the boutique spirits are big. YUM!

Interesting.

I know! What am I thinking?! Oh yeah, paying off a trip in a year!

There it is!

Lol! I think he's got you there! But then, the PNW *is* the home of Starbucks. ;)

I only drink Irish coffee on New Year's Eve...so I can stay awake! But it's been a long time since I've done that, too.

Uh huh. Sure ya were.

I will concede that it is indeed colder in Canada. (And you do realize you're speaking to someone who has lived on the Central Asian Steppe
who knows what regular temps of -10 C feel like, right?) However, I think it FEELS colder here for 6 months of the year, because it is WET. The cold rain seems like it is a more penetrating, stick with ya kind of cold. (I think I just talked myself into setting up residence in a certain castle never to leave again.)

You should start a new trend in Canadaland and say it all started here.

Yes, and rain. Oddly though, I'm sipping an iced coffee right now with my doors wide open to a balmy 72 F. And yes, it's to stay awake a little better.

Fly by report:

It's turned into one of those super irritating tickle coughs. I need a dump truck of cough drops. In other news, my kids' bus driver flipped the bus. Just a little happy the kids weren't on it yet. :/
Sorry. I get those cough/colds all the time. Basically about 3 or 4 times per year, I can count on having to deal with it for a few weeks. We are always well stocked on cough drops. I feel your pain and I hope you get over it soon.

I'm glad the kids weren't on it. Takes some skill to flip a school bus. By the way... true story. I was T-Boned by a school bus about 3 1/2 years ago. And that bus driver, although he's been suspended multiple times, still drives a school bus.

-10C? You mean T-shirt weather? Nice. I love it when it warms up to -10C.

Wet heat, wet cold.... blech. I will gladly take our dry temps, thanks.

Hey Sister! Here's to 80% :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

And here's to 11 months, 3 weeks and 5 days !!!!:mickeyjum:goofy::dumbo::donald::tigger::ccat::simba::stitch::earboy2:

It's a bouncy, flouncy, trouncy party!! Nice!!!! Thanks, Tammie!

Mostly all better now. And now I"m wondering if it wasn't a reaction to the flu shot I'd gotten 2 days before. You can't get "the flu" from it being that they are inactived virus, but the body can have a response that isn't fun nonetheless. It only lasted about 3 days for which I'm really grateful. I really didn't want the stress of being sick on top of studying.

How can that even happen that a driver sould be in trouble more than even once and still be putting kids' lives in his hands? Weird!

Nope, nope, NOPE. That is when my fur comes out. Actually, I drag my warm wool out at around 40F. I hate being cold. The end.

Alright, all caught up!

Whew, I missed quite a few things. Though, I'm glad to see you got some grade points up for your exam :) My wife is the same though, a B is barely satisfying to her.

Yaaaaaay for the one year mark! Those MagicBands are so neat!

The rest of the year will fly by, I'm sure :) I remember when we were above the one year mark, and now we're less than three weeks away

Friends:

It's so great you all are still here while I'm just putting my head down and doing what I need to do. It's hard, and I struggle to not be discouraged and have mini-meltdowns on a fairly regular basis. This weekend has been long, but productive. Work was a trainwreck on Thursday from 6 AM to 8:30 PM. Long day, but....

the good news is that I made enough from working that shift and the flu clinic last week to cover one of our air tickets for the trip. Hooray!

Looking ahead: Clinical at the State Hospital Monday and Tuesday, Exam on Wednedsay, Lecture all day Thursday, then my first day of Clinical on the Surgical Floor, a straight jacket on the weekend.

Please resume your comings and goings....

There's a word for that. It's called life! :rotfl2: That's why it's so critical to have that Disney trip on the horizon!

:woohoo: Hooray for good news!

Stopping by to say hi :wave2: Hope you have a good week, even though it sounds brutal! I like to Disney daydream to get me through those tough moments :earsboy:
Glad you're feeling better!
Just keep swimming, just keep swimming :fish:

Tomorrow holds Exam #2 (out of 5 + a Final) and it's time to put Team Steppe into action. Please send all the Prayer Power you can, I need to do at least as well as the first one. Planning on going to lunch (and a cocktail) with the Study Girls, but want to come home and spend a bit of time here afterwards. I'm going to take that much needed break!!!! I'll let you know tomorrow afternoon (or morning) how it went, so stay tuned...

Thanks, #1 Fan! Yes, there are small victories along the way, and that does feel good. I got a glowing evaluation by my Psych Rotation Instructor today, so that was nice. One phase is over and the next (and MUCH scarier) one in Med-Surg starts Friday. Pretty freakin' nervous for that one. But even moreso for the check-off on Tuesday.

...
If that's what keeps you going, it's pretty good motivation I think. I'm using Disney to get through each work shift too, and I don't have school and exams on top of things. Although with flu shots starting here in Canada on Tuesday, I may need a straight jacket by the weekend too.

...
And I think we need the straight jackets with the wine glasses attached!

Flu Clinics can be chaos, but they are kinda fun too. I LOVE your idea of straight jackets with built in wine-glasses. I think you're onto something!

YES, it is!! In fact, I completely forgot to make up my Mickey Head Wishes for the last exam, so I might have to double up on them tomorrow. And since I"ve made more progress on the planning and more ideas have come to light, I have plenty more to look forward to now.

Well, HI right back at ya!! I am having a very stressful week, but it's going by quickly. The hard part actually starts at 8:00 tomorrow morning. I'll let you know what I've been daydreaming about tomorrow evening! :)

Go knock that exam outta the park! You got this!

Thanks, #1 Fan!

Hey look at that! I'm #1!

In your face everybody else!!

This is a real nice departure, because usually I'm told I'm full of #2.

Way to go!

And totally not surprised.

One phase is over and the next (and MUCH scarier) one in Med-Surg starts Friday. Pretty freakin' nervous for that one. But even moreso for the check-off on Tuesday.

But it may also be the most rewarding/interesting.
I believe in you.

I hope things go well this morning!

Oh boy, oh boy, OH BOY!!!!!

I did pretty well this morning and got an 86%. Wishing words could say how relieved I am!

Thank you, thank you for praying for me! Now to tackle the rest of the next 2 weeks.
