The ABC's of Trip Planning, Pt 1- K is for Keeping Things Kooky- Drinks V-Z; pg. 197 + New Link

Thanks, Mr. Ruby!

No problemo, Lieza.

Rhymes with Jabberwalky.

Ah. Got it.

In fact, in my last Clinical at the hospital, a guy's wife came in with some pot candy. He had a medical marijuana card, so the doctor had to write in his care plan stuff.... The discussion in the staff lounge, which involved the doc, a doctor colleague of his, and several nurses (and me) was hilarious. So yeah, all of that goes.

I do think on our mornings that we want to hit up EMH in FW, though, we'll maybe take a bus?

They will let you walk through. just like M said pavilions not open but you can walk by UK and Canada.

On the morning EMH question: I am afraid that I do not know the definite answer!! I think we never did morning EMH. BUT I know that for normal rope drop you can just enter through the International Gateway. The walkway down to FW is open, but the pavilions are not. Actually: You might want to get breakfast in France as I think the bakery in France is now open from park opening...

::yes::

Unless as I continue my planning, I can't find a better place to plunk in Sanaa- which is a must-do for me. I KNOW the kids will LOVE Sanaa, but I don't want to sacrifice park time for going all the way there.

The ride from AK to AKL is 5 min, not the bus wait..... but that ride is short. I also realize just getting out of AK is time consuming so good luck with fitting that all in. :scratchin

Have you looked at getting the SW credit card? They are offering 50K points as a sign on bonus and there is a way to get a companion pass too. Might be able to get free or almost free airfare.

Jill in CO

A little. My neighbor who does a TON of business travel (to Disney as a wine rep for Willamette Valley Vineyards to sell to several of the restaurants...like Artist Point) says that more often USAirways is the cheaper flight from the PNW, AND they have a better credit card deal. I'm just not sure if another card is a good idea. I have the DIsney Chase and am slowly racking up dollahs, with gas, groceries and restaurants. Not sure what else I'd charge on another card.

Maybe it's time to do the math again...?

Congrats on starting back to school, it will be over before you know it!

I think that you will love whichever resort you end up whether it is Boardwalk or Animal Kingdom Lodge.

I hope it goes by super quickly!! I'm already having a hard time re-focusing after a long summer of other stuff.

I think so too! Both are nice in their own rights.

I get it. Personally, I love the WL theme because it feels exotic to me. Same with AKL. Whereas Beach Club, Yacht Club, and Boardwalk hold no appeal whatsoever because I live on the Atlantic coast. So I hear ya, for sure.

Wow. I have no words! Maybe the Pope is visiting that same week.

It's always a good feeling to post the ticker!

I'm glad someone else gets it!! And I can totally see that for the East Coasters. But tell me, do they really have clowns and other creepy stuff like that at resorts and other public places??

Could be! Or maybe when we check in at the Boardwalk, they'll tell us they've got the whole resort reserved for us... at AKL.

Sure is. Especially one with the right (confirmed) date on it.

Finally got back over here... :rolleyes1

I'd love your feedback, comments, suggestions, etc..... Sometimes I overlook obvious potential messups for sure!!
Um... I didn't notice anything glaring. I'm sure if there was something I overlooked it has been addressed in the 3 pages of dialog I missed out on.

Also, would love your prayers for this ridiculous wrist of mine. I really need it to be all better before school starts up!!!
I hope it is improving.

Naturally, I went with an array of bright and pretty colors because most of our stay will be at Art of Animation Resort- one must have a wide and colorful palette to work with, no?
Makes sense to me. And it is harder to lose them if they are bright and colorful.

My time is running out and I know my focus needs to start shifting to this:
Good luck! And don't forget to be awesome.

Um, is your name misspelled on your nametag?
Yeah.. what he said...

Le sigh. No.

Here is the long version of that story. The older I get, the more confused I get as to whether I should be proud of the fact that it goes this way.

In my Jr. High days I wanted to stretch my ways of going "creative" and started being silly with unique ways to spell my name. I kinda started using it, and to my mother's horror and ongoing grief, it stuck. It is used now everywhere... on all of my paperwork including banking, HOWEVER, I never changed it legally. Hence, it can't be used for my legal Nursing license, school, or my driver's license. I really do prefer "Liesa", my one of probably too many displays of rebellion and independence, but am both too lazy and too sensitive to my family to change it.

Maybe someday... but not now. So, that answer is both yes, and no.
Hmmm. Makes sense. Can I add some extra letters to your name too though? This could get kind of interesting.

Lieeeeesaaaaaaa!

Or were you thinking more consonants...Liesczhgxpbnqwertya!

Hey! Be nice. I knew a girl named Liesczhgxpbnqwertya.
She was a horrid person, but still!
Had a nice dog, though.
His name was Bob.

No problemo, Lieza.

Ah. Got it.

Hey zdnokp, I'm glad someone does around here!! Or at least pretends to.

They will let you walk through. just like M said pavilions not open but you can walk by UK and Canada.

My question is more along the lines of which would be faster, if we want to make sure to get into the RD mayhem. Walking from the Backdoor, or taking a bus all the way to the front. Since I'm not sure how it'll work out if we (or not) get FP+s for EPCOT, I want to hit up Soarin' right away first thing and try to hit up all the headliners w/o them.

Yes, planning the AK time might be tricky being such a HUGE park, we'll want to make sure not to criss-cross it too much and end up near the front when lunch rolls around so we can have the choice of leaving or not. I'd hate to have our location be the deciding factor on where we eat.

Finally got back over here... :rolleyes1

It's about time. ;) I was actually thinking about you today as I took the kids to the bus. The corn in our neighborhood is being cut today (just in time for rain this morning) and wondered when yours will be or has been cut. How did you end up doing this season?

Um... I didn't notice anything glaring. I'm sure if there was something I overlooked it has been addressed in the 3 pages of dialog I missed out on.

Good advice has been given! Made some important tweaks from the input that smooth things out.

I hope it is improving.

It is! YAY!! Just in time too; lab review is tomorrow and I'll need it! Still gobbling up ibuprofen though. (Gotta make sure my ulcer is fed.)

Makes sense to me. And it is harder to lose them if they are bright and colorful.

True. Maybe I should just get them tattooed on.

Good luck! And don't forget to be awesome.

I"m actually curious about how my self-esteem and sense of awesomeness are going to hold out in these first weeks of school.

Hmmm. Makes sense. Can I add some extra letters to your name too though? This could get kind of interesting.

Oh, sure. Why not? Seems to be the latest craze!! :D

I like the way you think!

That actually looks like some kind of a legit Eastern European type of name.

:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

Hey, I know... let's have a party while I do math and watch lab skills videos so I can go back to school tomorrow and not look like (more of) a moron. Go ahead laugh it up. And when you see my awesome nametag holding an IV set over you, I'll remember you 3 Amigos.

We actually just started yesterday. The verdict is still out, but see PM for more info.

True. Maybe I should just get them tattooed on.
You would be the ultimate Disney trip planner and I would be in awe of your dedication.

Oh, sure. Why not? Seems to be the latest craze!! :D

As long as you have some good stuff in that IV, I guess we really won't care.

Hey zdnokp, I'm glad someone does around here!! Or at least pretends to.

You caught that whole "pretending" thing, hunh?

Hey, I know... let's have a party while I do math and watch lab skills videos so I can go back to school tomorrow and not look like (more of) a moron.

Oh, don't be silly. You couldn't possibly look like more of a moron!

Go ahead laugh it up. And when you see my awesome nametag holding an IV set over you, I'll remember you 3 Amigos.

Whups! Disregard that last comment!!! :scared:

I have a feeling that you might be the root cause of why an IV is being held over me! :lmao:

Just aced my first practice math test. 2 more to go before Tuesday. Tomorrow is all-day in the lab reviewing last year's skills; Friday all-day mandatory Orientation to 2nd Year (I'm so giddy about getting my syllabus I could have an accident); Monday all-day lab learning NEW skills; Tuesday Math test and lab remediation if needed; Friday Clinical Orientation at the hospital; Monday official first day of lecture. Here we goooooooooo-we-ohhhh....

Oh, and I accepted a bid on one of my Regency Period costumes for $130. (I should sew more often.) Which will be yet another day's meals for the trip! Can you feel the excitment in my typing??

Well, here we go again... Good luck! And get that A!!!

And you definitely should sew more often. I mean you've got more free time than you know what to do with, right? :rolleyes1

Hey...just doing a drive by...been MIA again I know...and I've missed a bunch of pages around here...but wanted to say hi!! Back to school for you too huh? You sound more excited about it than my kids...that's for sure...

We actually just started yesterday. The verdict is still out, but see PM for more info.

I'll look for that, thanks!

You would be the ultimate Disney trip planner and I would be in awe of your dedication.

That's what it would take for you to be in awe of me??

My Gosh, it's starting to look like I need to study up on Code Talking.

As long as you have some good stuff in that IV, I guess we really won't care.

Margaritas sound good.

You caught that whole "pretending" thing, hunh?

I'm a pretty smart AND hawt chick.

Oh, don't be silly. You couldn't possibly look like more of a moron!

But I look like a moron. A hawt and smart moron. Ok, I can live with that.

Whups! Disregard that last comment!!! :scared:

I also do catheters. Just sayin'.

I have a feeling that you might be the root cause of why an IV is being held over me! :lmao:

You know me pretty darn well.

Well, here we go again... Good luck! And get that A!!!

And you definitely should sew more often. I mean you've got more free time than you know what to do with, right? :rolleyes1

Thanks! But on the math exam(s) I need an A+ to continue in the program- a perfect score or you're out.

Free time. You're funny. Although, I should have a bit more free time after I graduate. I also have some extra quilts I could sell. I've considered going down to the plasma donation center as well.....

HI back at ya!! :) I've not been around quite as much either now that I"m trying to re-focus and all. I think then, your kids are like most kids. They don't have to pay for their education, or are they choosing to go. Very different story for grownups going back. ::yes::

All the best for your important math test and the whole second year of nursing school!! I am keeping my fingers crossed that you will be able to beat the 88%!!

Two trip planning comments (after all, that is the whole reason why we are on the DIS...:rolleyes1)

1) I don't think there is a bus from Boardwalk to the front of Epcot. There is one from DHS, but not sure it would run before rope drop. When we were staying there there were conflicting infos as to where people were being hold for rope drop (at IG or in FW). But since then the whole rope drop system changed quite a bit (some parks went to not opening the turnstiles until opening time, so really no rope being dropped) and then back to a real rope drop. I found the people on the Boardwalk Resort FAQ most helpful for finding out the best rope drop strategy!

2) I just noticed that indeed the Night Time Safaris (Kilimanjaro Safari open in the evening) are supposed to start in spring 2016 and so is the new AK night time show. You might want to keep that in mind with your itinerary planning. I could imagine that this means that AK will go back to evening EMH.

I'm about ready to head to bed since I have to be up early, but I'll reply tomorrow. But quickly, the new night show at AK is definitely on my radar and margin is there for late(r) nights there. World of Color is definitely by far my favorite of all Disney shows and I do hope it's similar!!
