The ABC's of Trip Planning, Pt 1- K is for Keeping Things Kooky- Drinks V-Z; pg. 197 + New Link

Ok, Folks, this is a test run. In my packing for my trip, I am convinced my laptop's screen won't fare well. I can't risk losing it altogether, so I'm pulling out the old POC Acer netbook and giving it a whirl.

Nope. Didn't work at all.

so DH dusted it off and got it to at least work a LITTLE BIT.

Wow. Amazing what a little dusting can do.

Even more importantly, however, I was able to recover/find a bunch more of the photos from my last trip in 2010. Pretty darned excited about that, my friends. Pretty darned excited.

Nice!

So, with that, I bid you a farewell until sometime tomorrow night (probably long after you're in bed)

Nope. On nights.

My 2:30 AM alarm will come all too early....

Wakey, wakey. Eggs and bakey.

And I'm off.... 2:45 AM. Coffee schlucked, lunch packed, and the spirit of adventure ready. Ready to handle anything the TSA throws my way.

Maybe I'll meet someone famous again.

I won't be there. Sorry.
Have fun!

having a 40 minute PT session for my stupid ribcage that she thinks has some torn cartilage from shifting a patient wrong about 2 months ago
That sounds painful...

The biggest piece of my assignment is that it's NIGHTS. I begin April 10 and my time goes through May 9- the day after my birthday. :( So, 6:30 PM - 7:30 AM.
Oh yuck. Sounds like it should be an interesting experience though since both positions seem like they'd give you a range of experiences.

Meantime, they loaded us up with about 200 pages of articles to read over our break (there really never is such a thing as a genuine break!) and our first exam is the Friday after we return. The difference is that these exams are done in groups, so we practice collaboration. There are some people I'd rather punch in the face than collaborate with, but I will smile... and collaborate.
That's a lot of homework for a break. Good luck collaborating.

Awesome shot!

My 2:30 AM alarm will come all too early....
Yes... I hope you're having a nice trip!

A is for: Annoyed Anticipation and (Un) Announced Arrivals

In the still quiet of the night she sat, her hands warmed by a perfectly pulled, steaming latte. Her eyes fought to keep from closing and burning from the decided lack of sleep she so desperately tried in vain to get. After tossing and turning for hours, she gave into the inevitable and rose to take advantage of the scarce silence of her home. Moments like this, she bemused to herself, lend themselves to trying to sort out the mysteries of life, both deep things and trite alike. 'Who was the first person to try eating an egg and what led him to that revolting choice?' for example. 'Was it the same imbecile who thought haggis was delicious and appetizing?' These things, she knew, she would never know.

There were yet things to be done in order to be on her way, but it was far too early and dark to be motivated to finish her packing. Furthermore, she was not at all anticipating the long drive by herself to the airport in the rain. So she stole a few more precious moments of solitude and began to ponder a little more. She glanced at her phone and stared at an icon just as she starts every morning. Today was no different. The number read- '203'. While math certainly does not come naturally or easily to her, a student, she quickly did the calculation in her head and realized that a mere 23 days are left before she would be challenged with a task requiring logistical prowess and a fair amount of luck.

More musing began to ensue in those moments, the few she had left before she would roll her luggage through the door and drive away. Her thoughts drifted to something that had begun to irritate and annoy her weeks ago. Now, what was once a mild irritation, was becoming simply maddening and feelings of exasperation welled up inside her. The weight of such a large task, that of planning and securing delectable meals for her family for their upcoming vacation, would need far more resources than she at present had at her disposal. Time for making more solid plans, she felt, was pressing and the disturbing lack of information she depended on was simply mocking her each time she tried to sort out her thoughts and make any sense of the planning she had already done. Had she had this information that only persons of higher rank far above her could supply, she could have wisely and creatively used the extra hour and a half she was up before the alarm went off. Unfortunately, she was never able to sleep very well the night before traveling, stemming from a time when travel with 5 small children across oceans and continents was a hellish nightmare.

Don't they know that Planners can't plan without the information only they can supply? How can one plan a meal at a particular place when the general area may not even be open or nowhere nearby? Do they withhold this information to mock us and cackle in evil delight when they receive comments and letters of sheer frustration when all previously made plans must be changed due to lack of adequate time to formulate a good itinerary? Is it truly necessary to make the Planners such as she wait so that all the free time they might have had during their break to plan is now gone?

Reluctantly, she resigned herself to more tortuous waiting knowing that there is nothing more to be done. Wait and watch the icon; hope that when the information so desperately sought is finally released there will yet be time to embrace the planning that ends in delectable meals in happy places at reasonable times.

It was now time. She set down her now empty mug and reluctantly rose to close her bag, grab her lunch of hummus, crackers and jerky for later, and start the drive to her flight. Bobbing her head to the music she channel-surfed her way through for the hour+-long drive, she wondered if she'd make her destination on time. She easily found an empty parking place... just as the shuttle bus pulled away with a load of passengers from the long-term lot she'd parked in. Instantly she realized clearly, some people have bus luck and some do not and that she was not one. Once inside, the line was long to check her baggage, but it moved fairly quickly. Perfect! Plenty of time to grab a nice cup of coffee and relax until the flight. She loves it when there is adequate time to spare to ease the stress of traveling. At least that is what she thought until she rounded the corner and saw a horrific sight strewn before her: a line stretching the entire length of the terminal. Her hopes of a leisurely stroll up to the gate were utterly dashed. Much like hers are each year when she asks Santa for a 1963 Corvette for Christmas.

The line moved at a predictable pace until she reached halfway to the Groping Area, and then stopped dead. She and several million of her new best friends were told that a K-9 would be sweeping the line and that we were to hold still along the stanchions until SniffyPants passed by. Luckily they did not find what he were looking for in her bags and soon the line was moving forward again- this time at a brisk, uninterrupted pace. She was not groped in the Groping Area to her arrant relief and was quickly on her way, now only hoping against all hope that she would make her B-26 boarding spot. Happy to see a crowd in the distance, the FAR, FAR distance, (why she moaned to her sleepy self does it always have to be the last gate down the terminal??!!) she walked briskly and made it JUST in time to board as B-26. Which reminded her of happy times as a young girl growing up near a military airfield and watching the Bombers do touch and go's for hours. But that is a tangent she cannot think too long on; there are places to go and things to do.

Being relatively small in stature she is able to fit in places others are not willing to sacrifice comfort for. Right there in the bulkhead she espied a middle seat in between 2 pretty big folks and asked if the seat was taken. "No? Huzzah!", she exclaimed as she stowed her small bag and buckled up. As the 737 lifted its hulk into the sky with more gracefulness than an albatross (have you ever seen one of those try to get off the water? :lmao:) she fixed an enormous, childlike grin on her face and thought to herself, "Taking off just never, ever gets old!"

Students you know, never truly get authentic respite from their studies, so naturally this vacation was not going to be totally devoid of reading. So that is how she spent the long flights to her final destination where she was the first one off the plane.... So that she could sit for 3 hours waiting for her ride.... Which gave her more time to think. She rarely gets time to do this in her normal, everyday, rather exciting but strenuous life, so the 3 hours evaporated quickly and before she knew it, she was on her Mom and Dad's doorstep with one hell of a surprise.

Happiness she believes stems from choosing to be content each day, being satisfied with what we are given or make for ourselves with the resources we have, and from the love of those around us. She ended her day with happiness in her heart, a warm, soft bed, and thankfulness for the blessings of family, friends, and a Waffle House nearby.

Oh! Thank the Lord.

Her eyes fought to keep from closing and burning from the decided lack of sleep she so desperately tried in vain to get.

Funny. That's how I feel right now.

Really? I just usually sit and quietly sob.

Funny you should mention that.
I just heard someone say this within the last day or two.
I decided that it depends on your beliefs.

Cue Jaws theme music.

Deep breaths.

Time for making more solid plans, she felt, was pressing and the disturbing lack of information she depended on was simply mocking her each time she tried to sort out her thoughts and make any sense of the planning she had already done.

Deeeeep breaths.

Unfortunately, she was never able to sleep very well the night before traveling, stemming from a time when travel with 5 small children across oceans and continents was a hellish nightmare.

Yup. That'd do it all right.

::yes:: Yay!~

Wow. Cutting it close.
You went from time to kill to no time to lose in a hurry.

Which reminded her of happy times as a young girl growing up near a military airfield and watching the Bombers do touch and go's for hours.

I would've done the same! Lucky!

Bulkhead. Early off... vs stuck between two people (large or not)... tough call.

Oh, come on. If I can do it, you can do it!

Don't worry too much about the ADRs!! Most of the places you talked about are not that difficult to get (for example, Sanaa you could just walk up without an ADR most places). The only difficult one will be BoG. And while of course everyone has their own likes and dislikes, I really did not think it was anything special at all. Many other places at WDW I would rater eat at for CS and TS!

Your early morning plane journey sounds crazy! Getting up at 2:30 am to then have to drive over an hour to the airport just sounds horrible to me! But it seems that you got something out of it: 3 hours of solitude for thinking!

Oh, yeah. Just don't ask me to remember the last 15 hours.

Sleep deprivation- it's a struggle.

I'll still take the break in Hawaii, thankyouverymuch.

Ok, fine. After all, you did deserve it. Having just gotten back from WDW and all...

Copy and paste is Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V, right?

Almost as great a combination as taters and gravy.

Got it. For cooking and cleaning and mending and making things better and all those things that mothers do that everyone else on the planet takes for granted.

Funny how things done well and on time are rarely noticed. But when the house if messy, clean clothes are sparse and meals aren't made that everyone is quick to point it out.

It'd be nice to see something come a little easier for a change, wouldn't it?

Is it possible??

Oh Nights , I would be in trouble !!! But you seem okay with it !! Long shifts though !!!!

I'll be ok. The 2-3 AM hour can be tough, but I usually get a 2nd wind and can power through it.

Sleep deprivation- it's a struggle.

The struggle is real.

Ok, fine. After all, you did deserve it.

I really did!

Having just gotten back from WDW and all...

Hey! That was, like... a few months earlier!

Almost as great a combination as taters and gravy.

I'm glad you said "almost".

Funny how things done well and on time are rarely noticed. But when the house if messy, clean clothes are sparse and meals aren't made that everyone is quick to point it out.

::yes::

Is it possible??

No.

But... I only count three...
Wait...
1. A is for Another Aspect of Analyzing ADRs...
2. coming up....
3. I just accidentally pushed submit with about 4 sentences of the update written.
4. geez.

Okay. You're right. I missed that last one.
Damn your good.

See? And you're right. ;) So good that I lost even all of that. And had to start over. :sad2:

Congrats on finishing the dreaded exam and doing well!!!

Collaboration...yeah I hated that in school too...some people are slackers....and others are just annoying to work with ugh...but then...that's just like in real life after school so I suppose there is some benefit to getting used to that...lol...

Thanks, Kathy. It was a very tough exam, but I made it, and am enjoying this little break until next term starts. It will be a very different term for sure!

There are DEEEEEFINITELY some slackers in our group; really only putting in the bare minimum to just pass. I hate that attitude. But yes, you are so right, there are people like this everywhere. Hasn't changed since my first degree in 19hundredforeverago. Real life, I guess, is everywhere. LOL!

That's why I always write them in Word and paste them when I'm good and ready.

I used to do that, but with the new system and the new feature that saves your text, it hasn't been a worry. I also learned about control z. LOL! But last time this happened, I must have pushed CTRL+WIPEOUT. I guess I'll go back to Word....

Sounds like you got a good placement. Should allow you to practice many skills in various settings while handling a full patient load and that is the most important aspect of consolidation in my opinion.

Yes, I think you're right. I was up to handling total care for 3 patients, and it will be a stretch for me to take 4, but I'm certainly up for the challenge!

I'm behind on all my threads, and can't wait to see photos of those costumes. What an enormous undertaking!!!!

Due to the statement above...There will be a brief interruption in your daily programming...Thread hijacking commence! (lots of pics. We had a cast of 98 kids!!!!!!!!!!!:crazy2:)

I am all caught up but can only remember
Serka Zong.

DING, DING, DING!!!!!!!! Pat, was the only one with the correct answer to that mystery photo. GREAT JOB!!!!

I will have to go back and really see what I wanted to comment on.

I'll be waiting. ;)

Cool hummingbird picture - you have some skills

Why thank you! I think that one may go to the Fair this summer.

Nice exam score and assignment - even of it is nights. You will survive.

I know I can. The term I had nights before was ok for me. And it's only for a month.

Glad you had a (mostly) good time.
White knuckle car trip? Did you have a DD driving?

HOW did you know?! (LOL, you have them too, so I know exactly how you knew.)

Beautiful as always, Liesa.

Thanks! One of the first things I am going to do after graduation is join a local club and start going on some group trips and getting some tips on how to use my camera settings better.

It is??? Why was I not informed!!!

You get premiere bus packages, the rest of us riffraff get Spring Break.

Great to hear that your position is only 25 minutes away. My brother and sister both had to drive over an hour when they had to do theirs. The drive was very hard on both of them. Night shift, if you can sleep during the day may be ok. It is a very hard transition though, but if you cover your windows with that block out stuff so it is truly dark in your bedroom, then you should adapt ok. Just be sure to make it as dark as you can when you are sleeping.

I confess I am a smudge worried about the drive home. My daughter lives very near, so I may crash at her place once in a while. We have some nice lined drapes in our bedroom, so I'm hoping they'll be enough to keep my able to sleep. If not, I may resort to a little Ambien for this stint.

I will post some pics on the musical costumes as soon as hubby gets them off his phone for me. I make him take pics cause I like to watch!

OH THANK YOU! I am super excited to see all of your hard work and talent!!!

Was about 5 pages behind. So a lot of old catch up comments.
First of all so glad you got through your exam! Nice going!
You are getting there, can't believe this PTR has been 15 months!
Been following along towards the beginning. Out of curiosity I went back to see when I came out of lurking and made first comment. FYI back in June! Found some interesting posts from back then:

I know how getting behind can feel! I am often very behind on most threads I follow and had hoped to catch up during Break. But I forget my parents are nasty-pants like myself and like to always be busy. It's ok, I don't get to spend nearly enough time with them, so trying to make the most of that!

Thank goodness this was a big bunch of phooey!

SO TRUE, @pkondz! He's pretty awesome to have around!

Not so long now!! Will be so fun to be still here (actually on the TR!) together 8-9 month from now!
Just told hubby the count down in months and days....still far but also scary close! We have been planning park days but need to fill in where ADR will be since booking them will be soon. Wish park hours were out and I could believe them.
September still shows AK closing @ 5:00. I want to know if ROL will be every day or certain days. Could make a difference if I'm leaving to go eat elsewhere or staying later. Same with Wishes, in the past it wasn't an option everynight.

WOOOOOOHHOOOOOO!!! I'm so darned stinking excited! So, Marv, Pat, and I are working on plans and have a phone "conference" planned for tomorrow to take care of business. I hope you are planning to spend a wee bit of time with all of us too! Lots of fun stuff planned! For kids and adults alike!

I know! It's so aggravating to not have those announced although Marv just texted and says they are up on a website he follows. But my phone is getting an update and I can't access it to find which one he mentioned. The ROL show is the biggest factor that could dice up our plans we've made so far. I like my itinerary, but only have one night at AK planned so far. So if it's not showing on that night, I'll have to mix it up- again. I used last year's park hours (found here on WDWInfo) and they do stay pretty true to that from what I hear.

You're girl's night looked like so much fun. Hope someday me and daughter will have moments like this. The maturity shift is happening a little more that mom is appreciated (kind of respected) more as a person and not just a parent.

Then you are already a long way there. I LOVE my teens and adult 'kids' so, so much! It's so great spending time with them as friends and as a mom.

Never really tried much Indian food, maybe at F&W!

Oh, I adore Indian. The spices and flavors are so wonderful. Speaking of which, I JUST finished watching a very delightful movie called the 100 Yard Journey. It's about an Indian family that moves to France to open a restaurant and the story of how they are received and fare in that new country. I'd HIGHLY recommend it.

Beautiful pictures. Will be fun to re-live Disney with your photos

Thank you! And yes, it will be very nice to enjoy all those photos again and again. I especially like to find the little details and not-so-common angles of things.

Your placement looks like it will give you some good experience. Sounds like you've done some of the night shifts before, hope these work out okay for you

I hope it is exactly what I need. Honestly, there have been very few times in my life that I have not been able to look back and say, "God really knew what He was doing there, didn't He?"

Enjoy your break you deserve it. As always, even if I don't get here in time to comment and sent you good luck, know that I am!

We all can only be here as much as we can. No judging from this quarter whatsoever and I'm just super grateful that whoever can be here and comment when they can, does. So far, my break has been wonderful! I can't get the dumb video to post of the surprise, but if I can figure it out, I will!

One more day off tomorrow , during which I plan to do as little as possible :rotfl2:The reason for this is anything I do get done will be an extra and I will feel very proud of myself . :confused3:goodvibes:rotfl2:Today we bought the Ham for Easter and other trimmings such as veggies rolls etc etc. !! Then I rested till it was time for work ! Stephanie gave me a belated Birthday gift , a blue quilt set and sheets . Her and Judy even put it on my bed for when I came home from work . I love it !!!!! I have wonderful grandkids who LOVE me !!:grouphug: It is just Kyle and I in the old homestead now , Judy asks him to live with her BUT he wont leave me . Now the girls are gone her says he can't leave me alone !! He really does not like her new house says it creeps him out !! Plus his beloved Dog is with me !! But it sounds good to say he has to take care of me :goodvibes

Sounds like you're all ready!! I won't get home until about 1:00AM Saturday night, so my girls will plan the Easter meal for us. My sister-in-law and her family are coming down from Washington, and will contribute as well. I mean who cares if Easter is held in a pigsty, right?

What a beautiful, beautiful gift from your grandkids! So lovely! And yes, it surely does sound like a family that loves you.

Baffleheads? Is one of them named Rosie??? :rolleyes1 :stir:

Oh, Rosie, I think a spoon made of wood may be in order around here!

Have a great trip. That was me yesterday, boy what a mess I was! No more early AM flights! Have a great time surprising your folks!

Early flights suck. Luckily, our one to Orlando is like around midnight, so we won't even bother to sleep before. But I'm TOTALLY getting a neck pillow so I can try to on the plane.

Hope you have a safe and wonderful trip!

Here safely and enjoying my time immensely so far!

@Chrystmasangel - I just saw you montage of AMAZING costume photos!! WOW, I will be back to comment soon...

Nope. Didn't work at all.

Good thing too. I mean why else tote it in a carry-on to get it all the way here.

Wow. Amazing what a little dusting can do.

It'll be even more amazing what a new screen will do for my real one.

Nope. On nights.

Lucky you!

Wakey, wakey. Eggs and bakey.

Nope, it was "Wakey, wakey. I hope this flight, I makey, makey!"

I won't be there. Sorry.
Have fun!

Sorry I missed you. Then again, I was much to busy running through the terminal to frolic with the rich and famous this time.

That sounds painful...

Not nearly as painful as my back after the flight. Now it's 100X worse; so bad, in fact, that I had to find a place to get a massage here in Bowling Green. Being squashed in an airline seat with literally barely enough room to hold your $400 tomato juice and 6 peanuts is terrible for a bad back!

Oh yuck. Sounds like it should be an interesting experience though since both positions seem like they'd give you a range of experiences.

I think they will for sure! I"m hoping I can manage a few of those shifts OFF of the med-surg unit, and get to go to the ED, OB, ICU, or the psych units.

That's a lot of homework for a break. Good luck collaborating.

Aaaaaand, I forgot my textbook. I blasted through all the articles on the way here, but will probably not get a chance to read the assigned text before class starts.

Awesome shot!

Thanks!

Yes... I hope you're having a nice trip!

Lovely, so far!!! I'm hoping we get a thunderstorm on Thursday that's predicted.

Funny. That's how I feel right now.

I hope you got some sleep since then!

Really? I just usually sit and quietly sob.

Oh don't be fooled, that's happened more than once on this end.

Funny you should mention that.
I just heard someone say this within the last day or two.
I decided that it depends on your beliefs.
If you're a creationist, then it's a mystery. But if you're an evolutionist, then it's simple.
(I am not trying to start a religious debate here. Merely pointing out the two points of view.)

That's a very valid point you make. Never would have thought of it that way.

I've never tried it.
But I would.
Heck, I love sausage, and that's not that far different.

No. Just no. It's blood pudding. I've eaten crickets, rattlesnake, and sheep brains, but I gotta draw the line somewhere.

Deeeeep breaths.

Man, I need to brush my teeth!!

Yup. That'd do it all right.

Don't even ask me about border crossings during an active military coup. I think some "oldies" that knew me back in my early DIS days know the story.

That happens?

I KNEW I was going to regret not purchasing the Premium Transportation Package. I KNEW IT!

Santa's being a jerk. The lady has wonderful taste in gifts

Yes, he is being a jerk. I NEED a 1963 Corvette. Which reminds me that I'm skipping the Corvette Museum this time around here in Bowling Green. Sad day.

Oh, Lord. Really?
I suppose it's a necessary evil, but... man!

Yes, it is. But I"ve learned my lesson about getting to the airport earlier now. They say an hour is enough which a total load of crap nowadays. I think 2 hours gives a softer cushion.

This is an axiom.

It was meant to be rhetorical.

Wow. Cutting it close.
You went from time to kill to no time to lose in a hurry.

Yes, but it reminded me of the last time I lallygagged around and ended up on my a$$ while getting a coffee. It's a special talent to trip over your own bag.

I would've done the same! Lucky!

I think March AFB is now only a mere shell of what it was when I grew up nearby. Sad. :(

Man... I don't know.
Bulkhead. Early off... vs stuck between two people (large or not)... tough call.

In this case it really didn't matter. I had to wait 3 hours.

That was a great video.

I'm not sure why I'm having a hard time posting it here.

Oh, come on. If I can do it, you can do it!

I'm supposed to be banking my sleep during this break, silly.

You get premiere bus packages, the rest of us riffraff get Spring Break.

Ah.

Lucky you!

yippee. (No caps.)

Nope, it was "Wakey, wakey. I hope this flight, I makey, makey!"

And it was a close thing, too.

Then again, I was much to busy running through the terminal to frolic with the rich and famous this time.

You mean poor and infamous... at best.

I hope you got some sleep since then!

Not much. Still not.
I just got to work a few minutes ago and Kay texts me to tell me to drive her to school tomorrow... at 9:30.
Uh... no. I need to get some sleep.

No. Just no. It's blood pudding. I've eaten crickets, rattlesnake, and sheep brains, but I gotta draw the line somewhere.

:lmao:

Man, I need to brush my teeth!!

:rotfl:

Don't even ask me about border crossings during an active military coup.

 Whoa. You have lived in interesting times.

I KNEW I was going to regret not purchasing the Premium Transportation Package. I KNEW IT!

It's really worth it.

Yes, he is being a jerk. I NEED a 1963 Corvette. Which reminds me that I'm skipping the Corvette Museum this time around here in Bowling Green. Sad day.

Of course you need a 63 vette. Who doesn't???

It was meant to be rhetorical.

I'm not good with rhetoric.

Yes, but it reminded me of the last time I lallygagged around and ended up on my a$$ while getting a coffee. It's a special talent to trip over your own bag.

You've got it down to a science.

In this case it really didn't matter. I had to wait 3 hours.

Shoulda taken that empty row in the back.
(I know, there probably weren't too many (if any) free seats.

I'm supposed to be banking my sleep during this break, silly.

Uh, huh. Good luck with that.

That is GREAT to know! I guess I'm more worried about planning the times and park days even more than the ADRs. I REALLY want to see ROL and of course my beloved MSEP. But don't want to have to give up Sanaa, or say, Artist Point , or have to choose. I'm sure they'll be out very soon and I can spend some time planning in the next couple of weeks. Marv and I will be trying to work some stuff out tomorrow.

Your early morning plane journey sounds crazy! Getting up at 2:30 am to then have to drive over an hour to the airport just sounds horrible to me! But it seems that you got something out of it: 3 hours of solitude for thinking!

I was actually "up" at 1:15 and my flight left at 5:35. I'm SO glad I left the house when I did or I'd not have made it for sure.

I do love my times of quiet in the mornings and almost always arrive at school an hour before lecture so I can collect my thoughts and ease into the day.

Hey! That was, like... a few months earlier

Oh, I know. So. Terribly. Rough.

Due to the statement above...There will be a brief interruption in your daily programming...Thread hijacking commence! (lots of pics. We had a cast of 98 kids!!!!!!!!!!!:crazy2:)

You are NOT interrupting! You are an important part of this PTR and your photos are totally worth sharing. I am amazed; very, very well done- KUDOS to a job that went above and beyond. That must have taken you hundreds of hours to pull off!

Very poetic writing in the wee hours of the morning. I forsee in the future a lovely book of travel and nursing stories. Enjoy your vacation - and your waffles!

I have threatened many, many times to write a book about our adventures in Crapistan. Now I can add my journey through school at almost 50, and add some cool nursing stories to boot. :D LOL!

Uh, huh. Good luck with that.

Especially when you are extra, extra efficient with your responses. Sheesh! Now it's 11:30; I'm finally done with my responses on my own thread and am STILL so far behind on yours and about 12 others. Ridiculousness. Alas, I'm being FORCED to go out to breakfast with my Papa at 8:30, so I should turn in now and give it another try tomorrow to enjoy everyone's updates and news.
