The ABC's of Trip Planning, Pt 1- K is for Keeping Things Kooky- Drinks V-Z; pg. 197 + New Link

Ridin' the rails!

Are you a hobo now? Cool.

Nurse/hobo?

I would've been disappointed had you not been. Because that would be proof you haven't been paying any attention during the last 15 months.

Oh, yeah. Just don't ask me to remember the last 15 hours.

I know you do. Given your last week, and the let down of returning to real life, I can imagine you feel much like I do. Except that you probably moreso, since I didn't get to go to Hawaii and have reality slap me in the face.

I'll still take the break in Hawaii, thankyouverymuch.

Only the stupid ones will do that. I am not stupid.

Atta girl.

(I probably shouldn't have typed that. One never wants stuff like that to come back around.)

Oh, don't worry. It won't.

Copy and paste is Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V, right?

Not well. She told me that cartilage can take MONTHS to heal and it probably will given my job. I have some stretches I can do during work as I sit and chart, but short of just Aleve and time it's gonna take a while.

Take care of yourself.

You're funny.

I know.

Kids cleaning... :lmao:

Well, OB would've been kinda cool, and truly I enjoyed the Neuro Unit I was on last term and wouldn't have minded going back for day shift, but nah, I'm totally happy with what I got.

Good to hear.

Well, I do, but I have to change into my Nursing Hero Scrubs costume for work. The other, cape and spandex, is reserved for the rest of the time.

Got it. For cooking and cleaning and mending and making things better and all those things that mothers do that everyone else on the planet takes for granted.

Yes. Each group goes into a breakout room and goes through the exam together discussing the questions. We answer on one Scantron, and all get that grade. Last year's class tells us that it's easy to get an A this term. We shall see.....

It'd be nice to see something come a little easier for a change, wouldn't it?

A is for Another Aspect of Analyzing ADRs...

coming up....

I just accidentally pushed submit with about 4 sentences of the update written. geez.

But... I only count three...
Wait...
1. A is for Another Aspect of Analyzing ADRs...
2. coming up....
3. I just accidentally pushed submit with about 4 sentences of the update written.
4. geez.

Okay. You're right. I missed that last one.
Damn your good.

Congrats on finishing the dreaded exam and doing well!!!

Collaboration...yeah I hated that in school too...some people are slackers....and others are just annoying to work with ugh...but then...that's just like in real life after school so I suppose there is some benefit to getting used to that...lol...

Sounds like you got a good placement. Should allow you to practice many skills in various settings while handling a full patient load and that is the most important aspect of consolidation in my opinion.

My consolidation was in Labour and Delivery/Maternity which I greatly enjoyed but was disappointed in at the same time. I didn't get to practice nearly as many skills while I had a skilled and experienced nurse with me all the time AND in L&D it was one on one so I never got the experience as a student of a full patient load etc. So, long story short, your placement sounds ideal for prepping you to work independently after you graduate.

I am all caught up but can only remember
Serka Zong.

I will have to go back and really see what I wanted to comment on.

Cool hummingbird picture - you have some skills

Nice exam score and assignment - even of it is nights. You will survive.

Been a whirlwind of a weekend (already) with short little train trip (oooooh, soooooo much different than Crapistani trains (which may or may not have been wherein "Crap-i'stan" got its namesake)), a very beautifully done bridal shower, and a white knuckle car trip home. Need to get to sleep for church tomorrow, but will leave this here for those of you who I don't know on the Book of Faces.

I don't know if any of you are birders out there, but these are some we certainly don't see everyday! Baffleheads! Not one, but 2 nesting pairs. They were on a small pond on my sister-in-law's property and will likely hang out for a bit longer before heading north for the summer.

Anyway, replies tomorrow afternoon. Maybe. Still a ton to get done. This is Spring Break afterall. ;)

Glad you had a (mostly) good time.
White knuckle car trip? Did you have a DD driving?

Beautiful as always, Liesa.

This is Spring Break afterall. ;)

It is??? Why was I not informed!!!

Great to hear that your position is only 25 minutes away. My brother and sister both had to drive over an hour when they had to do theirs. The drive was very hard on both of them. Night shift, if you can sleep during the day may be ok. It is a very hard transition though, but if you cover your windows with that block out stuff so it is truly dark in your bedroom, then you should adapt ok. Just be sure to make it as dark as you can when you are sleeping.

I will post some pics on the musical costumes as soon as hubby gets them off his phone for me. I make him take pics cause I like to watch!

Was about 5 pages behind. So a lot of old catch up comments.
First of all so glad you got through your exam! Nice going!
You are getting there, can't believe this PTR has been 15 months!
Been following along towards the beginning. Out of curiosity I went back to see when I came out of lurking and made first comment. FYI back in June! Found some interesting posts from back then:
Fair warning to you though, I'm not big into PTRs.
I'll keep up, but I won't comment as much as I usually do.
I reserve that for the TR.
Thank goodness this was a big bunch of phooey!
you will have a GREAT TR coming up in Nov, 2016. Yeah, yeah, a long time away, but think of the lead up to it! I know your as excited as I am. (Ok, that's not even possible, but it sounded good.)
Not so long now!! Will be so fun to be still here (actually on the TR!) together 8-9 month from now!
Just told hubby the count down in months and days....still far but also scary close! We have been planning park days but need to fill in where ADR will be since booking them will be soon. Wish park hours were out and I could believe them.
September still shows AK closing @ 5:00. I want to know if ROL will be every day or certain days. Could make a difference if I'm leaving to go eat elsewhere or staying later. Same with Wishes, in the past it wasn't an option everynight.

Back to other items:
You're girl's night looked like so much fun. Hope someday me and daughter will have moments like this. The maturity shift is happening a little more that mom is appreciated (kind of respected) more as a person and not just a parent.
Never really tried much Indian food, maybe at F&W!
Beautiful pictures. Will be fun to re-live Disney with your photos
Your placement looks like it will give you some good experience. Sounds like you've done some of the night shifts before, hope these work out okay for you
Enjoy your break you deserve it. As always, even if I don't get here in time to comment and sent you good luck, know that I am!

But it sounds good to say he has to take care of me :goodvibes

Ok, Folks, this is a test run. In my packing for my trip, I am convinced my laptop's screen won't fare well. I can't risk losing it altogether, so I'm pulling out the old POC Acer netbook and giving it a whirl. The family had come to a mini crisis in laptop supply when all 4 of us were in need of one for work/school about 2 weeks ago, so DH dusted it off and got it to at least work a LITTLE BIT.

It seems I can post a teensy on here, but more importantly, it has Word (which is actually an upgrade, since my real Laptop only has Libre. Because I can be a major tightwad a lot of the time.) which will allow me to type up (finish actually...) the update I'd started a couple days back.

Even more importantly, however, I was able to recover/find a bunch more of the photos from my last trip in 2010. Pretty darned excited about that, my friends. Pretty darned excited.

So, with that, I bid you a farewell until sometime tomorrow night (probably long after you're in bed) when I can post it. With all the hubbub of travel and the SURPRISE show-up-on-their door, I'll do the best I can.

Regardless, it appears my test run is sucessful and I'll pack the POC in my bag (as of yet, still very NOT packed) and hope for the best.

My 2:30 AM alarm will come all too early....

Baffleheads? Is one of them named Rosie??? :rolleyes1 :stir:

What a nice surprise Rosie! Sounds like a really special treat! :thumbsup2

And I'm off.... 2:45 AM. Coffee schlucked, lunch packed, and the spirit of adventure ready. Ready to handle anything the TSA throws my way.

Maybe I'll meet someone famous again.
