i just noticed that disney is offering a $50 on board credit for first time cruisers. is this true? i booked in Feb for our cruise in Oct. also, i had to call and book for a cat 3. should i call disney and ask if i was given the credit? i havent noticed anything on my paper work.

Where did you find out about the $50 onboard credit for first time cruisers? I booked last month for July 2005 and inquired about the first-timer's credit...they told me they weren't offering it at that time. Is this something new? If so, I want to call back and have it applied!

sry, my mistake

"Disney's Visa $50 Onboard Credit Offer for 2004 Cruises

Disney's Visa cardholders can get a $50 stateroom credit for any cruise sailing now through 12/30/04. Receive a $50 onboard credit when you or your travel agent book a Disney Cruise Line vacation with your Disney's Visa card.

i am sorry

Just a tip for those using the Disney Visa for the $50 onboard credit:

I put both our deposit and the balance on the Disney Visa VIA the web-site. I then called to make sure that they had the $50 onboard credit on our account. They didn't....

....but the person on the other end of the phone added it manually without hastle.

Soooo, if I were you, I wouldn't rely on them to activate your credit by themselves - call and double check - always a good idea anyways.

Who did you call -TA, DCL or Visa? I wasn't given the Visa credit b/c I had already booked a "group rate" with TA; I was surprised, because I thought this was more a Disney Visa promo than a straight DCL promo.

I paid for the cruise from the DCL web site using the "Disney Visa" option. I then called DCL directly at the number listed to have them generate my credit.

The $50 is definately a Disney Visa promotion but there has to be some sort of corporate communication - I wouldn't think DCL would give Bank One access to their booking and reservation systems to generate the online credits.

hey guys. I just got off the phone with DCL Carrie. She told me that when I finished paying off my cruise in August using the D-Visa that I was to tell my TA to notify DCL to apply the $50 credit. I was concerned about how I would know if it had been applied to my on board account and she suggested that I call DCL to verify after payment was made::MickeyMo

hope this helps:thewave:

Like PoohJen, I was told by both DCL and our TA that since we have a group rate we could not get our shipboard credit. They both said having a group rate is like a discount and you are not allowed more than one discount. I would still love to get the shipboard credit!
