The 5 J's Go Back to Disney *6/7* We're home :( But the TR has been started!!

Having my own 13 year old Teen-Tude Dude, I can certainly relate. As you mentioned on my TR, we'll both be Epcot on Friday May 25 in the evening. Maybe we'll see each other. Then the 13 year olds can aim all that attitude at each other, and we can get a bit of break from being the target. And our 8&9 year old DSs might have something in common, too. I'll look for y'all. If some crazy lady is hollering "5 J's, are the 5 J's about?" That'll be me.

Oh, and we had the opposite problem with testing. They told me testing would last until the 18th, so I didn't plan to leave until then. It ended last week. I could have spent Mother's Day in The World, had I known.

God bless you abundantly with your new nursing position. May God's countenance continue to shine down upon you as you will be a light in your new position. God is good all the time. Praise Jesus!

Jen so glad to hear things are back on track for when you wanted to leave.:thumbsup2 Sorry to hear you've been having a rough time with your daughter. This trip might be just what she needs to come around! Sending good vibes your way!:goodvibes Best of luck getting everything done, it's stressful but totally worth it!:wizard:

Jen, I am SOOOO excited and happy for you about the NICU job. (I have been back 3 days but haven't caught up yet - trying to catch up with my threads now!) I just knew you would get it! :cheer2: It takes a very special person to work with those special babies and worried parents, and you definitely seem to be called to do that.

And by the way, do you know why God makes teenagers so obnoxious to live with? Because otherwise we would never want them to leave home!! :rolleyes1 After a few years of obnoxious, we are a little more ready to let them go off to school! Good luck - this too shall pass!

I have struggled with my 7th grader all year. No communication, grades going down when his test scores are going up. It's a trial. And everyone tells me it's going to get worse.

Looks like you're well organized! I might have to borrow your character greeting info. I am well organized, in a very loose way. Well, compared to you, I'm not organized at all, but I know where we're going when. I'll get there. Just as soon as school gets out!

First off I am sorry you are having problems with your daughter but things will get better and hopefully your trip will help.

Your plans look great!!!! You trip is coming up soooo fast.

I'm so glad I've caught up with your pretrippie before you left!! Only a few more days for you. I know you are excited!
I feel your pain with the teenage girl. My girl is already a ball of hormones and she's only 10! I try so hard to hang on to the times when she is sweet and wants to hold my hand.
I love all your lists! I'm so jealous of your organizing skills.

Congratulations on your new job! God Bless you for what you do! It takes a special person and obviously you are one! :cutie:
I do believe that everything happens for a reason, we just don't always know that reason. I am glad your daughter's exam was able to be moved up! I would have been freaking out too! :lmao:

I also wanted to say that we live in Buffalo, well West Seneca actually! If you don;t mind me asking, did you leave for job reasons? We had thought about moving, but now that we have a dd we feel the need to stay close to family...especially the grandparents!

By the way your plans look great! Good luck on your yardsale!

Sounds like you are back on track! Everything always finds a way of working itself out.
You mentioned above about spending time just with your daughter! I think that's a great idea to split up from the boys for a 2 hour break. You both can go get a manicure or pedicure at one of Disney's Spas, Go on alot of Roller Coasters together, SHOP, Shop and more Shopping or just grab a quick ice cream cone together!
It will be great! I'm enjoying your pre-trip report!!
Thanks for your support. Jess and I talked a little and I really think that this trip will help all of us to reconnect again.

Your list and daily plans wow! I will certainly look back so that I can get that for my days.

Enjoy your last week till you are at WDW
You can borrow the lists if you want! I am trying to enjoy this week but while I want it to go by quick, I also want an extra day or two so I can get everything done LOL

I am SO jealous!! You park plan looks great...I thought I was bad.

I think I have 95 days or something like that. Lots of time to plan, plan, plan. :)

Thank you! Those days will go fast but not fast enough!

I really hope we run into each other! The thought of not being the target of teen angst for a while is appealing, but the prospect of her aiming ANYTHING at a 13 yo boy is a bit scary to me:eek: LOL Just kidding (kind of!). Jayden would love someone his age to hang with for a while too. Your last line made me laugh out loud :rotfl2: What a visual! I'll have to go back to your TR and study your pics so I can recognize you!

Oh man! That stinks! Everything happens for a reason, though, right?

God bless you abundantly with your new nursing position. May God's countenance continue to shine down upon you as you will be a light in your new position. God is good all the time. Praise Jesus!

Thank you so much for such a sweet post! Praise Jesus indeed - I have been everyday, moreso than usual :)

Thank you! It is ABSOLUTELY worth it!!

Thanks so much! I am trying to catch up with your trip, but it's so hard. I will though, promise! And your teenager comment made me laugh, but it's bittersweet too. I guess you're right though! If they stayed our sweet babies forever, we'd never get sweet grandbabies (later, definitely LATER!)

I have struggled with my 7th grader all year. No communication, grades going down when his test scores are going up. It's a trial. And everyone tells me it's going to get worse.

Middle school was hard enough when I was in it, but it pretty much rots when you have a middle school child, too. :sad2: Thanks for the cheery forecast btw LOL!! :rotfl:
I only APPEAR to be well organized. It all looks good on paper, but actually pulling it all off is another story:scared: LOL I'm trying my best though! Go ahead and borrow away! I can email you the word version if you'd like - it's much prettier and easier to read.

First off I am sorry you are having problems with your daughter but things will get better and hopefully your trip will help.

Your plans look great!!!! You trip is coming up soooo fast.
I hope so too! I still can't believe how soon I'll be in Disneyworld!

I'm so glad I've caught up with your pretrippie before you left!! Only a few more days for you. I know you are excited!

I'm glad too! I am very excited. Yep, it started around age 10, that I remember. Every now and then I see that sweet girl and I just hold onto that to get me through all the angst. It's helping (sometimes). Like I said to Kim, the organizing skills are just a ruse. All an illusion. At least, it feels that way to me :rolleyes1

Congratulations on your new job! God Bless you for what you do! It takes a special person and obviously you are one! :cutie:

You snuck in on me while I was posting that long post! Thanks for coming aboard :) And thanks for the congrats! I am so excited and will definitely take any and all blessings God will bestow upon me with a grateful heart.

Wow! Small world. Where did you go to school? I graduated from Williamsville East in 1991 and DH graduated from Seneca Vocational in 1992.

We kind of did leave for job reasons. The job market in Buffalo was/is so stagnant and DH found good opportunities down here. Plus, much of his family moved here in the year before we did, and we are quite close and couldn't imagine being so far, especially since I was 8 months pregnant at the time. So I know how you feel about the family issue! My parents are still in Buffalo (Williamsville, actually). But we're not so close...

Anyway, thanks for the kudos on my plans and the good luck wishes on my yard sale. Hopefully they'll work!

Hey everyone! I hope I didn't miss anyone!!!

I've been so busy and have gotten lots done but this yard sale is getting to be too much for me. I am starting to wish I'd just skipped it or put it off til after the trip. Oh well, too late now! I paid for the ad in the paper yesterday and DH is on his way right now to pick up two 8 foot tables we rented. I still have to make signs and have him go put them up.

Tuesday was my cap and gown ceremony. It was very nice, except for several rude people who were whooping and hollering even after the keynote speaker asked for everyone to hold applause/cheering til the end because there were so many of us and also so everyone's name would be heard. But it was still very nice. We went to dinner afterward and didn't get home til 11pm! On a school night! Yikes! It was all good though. We all crawled right into bed with our tummies full of yummy food and we were all so tired we passed out right away LOL

Jayden got into poison ivy this weekend :( It is all over him - I think he rolled around in it - sheesh! The worst is on his leg and face...right near his eye:eek: So I took him to the dr yesterday morning to get some oral steroids and I also got some ivy wash to wash the poison off as well as some caladryl. Seems to be working pretty well but it will be a while before it's healed. Should make for nice pictures in WDW LOL! I'm just glad he's ok now.

So I got my pedi Tuesday and it was WONDERFUL. He did a great job and I tipped him 30% because it was so long and thorough and heavenly. I was the only customer at the time, so that helped, I am sure. But yesterday I noticed both of my big toes were smudged a lot in the same place:confused3 so I went in today and they fixed it right up. DH and I got the car DVD player this morning at Target and we went up to BJs in Charlotte for mini cereal boxes, snacks, juice boxes, rechargeable batteries and a charger (for my camera), and he also got some nice RL Polo shirts at an awesome price. :thumbsup2 We then ran to Old Navy to exchange Jessica's shorts and got a couple more things - 6 shirts and 3 pairs of shorts for $51 with tax! Can't beat that!!! I love ON! We did all this between 9:30am and noon, plus we stopped at ChickFilA for brunch. I am super impressed!!

While we were at CFA, I saw a little girl with pink Disney crocs with a purple strap - I'd never seen those before! Her mom said that she got them in WDW! So I am going to wait to get my new crocs there ;) I can't wait to see what different colors they have!

Here is my revised to do list:

  • Price yard sale stuff
  • Organize yard sale stuff
  • Have yard sale (duh)
  • Have DH cut the lawn the day before we leave
  • Clean house top to bottom (there is nothing worse than coming home to a dirty house and vice versa!) (not likely LOL but we've got a good master list for everyone so maybe!)
  • Get new Epipen for DH
  • Refill meds for Jayden (already got mine and will pick his up tonight)
  • Contact POR with requests and let them know we'll be arriving after dinnertime
  • Tie dye 5 shirts (not very likely!!!)
  • Finish the last few pages of my 2005 Disney scrapbook
  • Finish packing (I'm about 75% done!)
  • Clean out my car/trunk thoroughly (we're swapping with MIL and using her minivan to drive down, so I want to make sure it's nice and clean for her - doing this Sunday)
  • Try to get to the dentist for the filling that popped out this weekend :( (Probably not going to happen so I'll just tough it out!)
  • Switch vehicles with MIL Tuesday night and pack the van completely

Of course, that is just for Disney and doesn't include:

Jayden's baseball at 6:30 tonight, Jessica's band concert at 6:30 tonight (DH and I are splitting again!), buying Jayden's coaches' gifts (I didn't want to be in charge of this but no one else stepped up so I took charge - cuz I didn't have anything else to do LOL), Jayden and Jory's games Sat morning, Jayden's end of season party Sat afternoon, church Sunday, Jory's preK graduation Tuesday morning, Jory's end of year party Wed morning (he was going to miss it but since Jess has to be at school anyway, I'm taking him)... I think that's it.:scared:

I am soooo looking forward to that car ride!!! I just want to VEG OUT with nothing to do.

OK back to pricing yard sale stuff. Jory is in there trying to stuff back to his room. Not good! I have a feeling it's going to be a long night but oh well - it brings me closer to my happy place:love:

Only six more days!!

Woo hoo!! 6 days left!! :dance3:

Your to-do list is getting shorter, too!

Poor Jayden! I hope he is not too itchy!

Just found your pretrip and love it!! Have a great time. You so deserve it.

Holy cow, Jen. You make me tired just reading your life! I do remember those days though, and you just do itsince you have no choice! Good luck getting it all done, and I hope Jayden's itchies get better quickly. You deserve to SLEEP all the way down! :yay:

Pics!!! I knew I had forgotten something. I guess I'll spend a bit of time tomorrow trying to figure out how to do that.

And don't worry about my 13 year old. With his NLD issues, girls are just other people. If they like music and video games, they are okay. If not, why bother....regardless of gender. Now the 9 year old - HE'S the one you have to look out for. He likes girls. And women. Especially if they will dance :dance3: with him. Or play chess.:rolleyes1

We'll have to see what happens. My evening plans are highly mutable. But just maybe.....

Thanks for happy dancing with me! The PI rash is starting to look better :thumbsup2 and feel less itchy.

Just found your pretrip and love it!! Have a great time. You so deserve it.
I'm glad you found us! Thanks so much!

6 more days!! You go girl! (You inspired me to start my list.):thumbsup2
Yes, do get started on that list!

:surfweb: I'm especially sleepy today. I will probably be too excited to sleep, but hopefully I will sleep like a baby once we get there:cloud9: You're so right - you just do it and somehow you usually get most of it done, no matter how unlikely or impossible that may seem. He is starting to feel better, thanks :flower3:

Good - I'm glad I wasn't going crazy, because I didn't think I'd seen any pics of your bunch. I just got your PM :thumbsup2 Too cute about your 9 yo.
You leave one day before I do, so I'm glad I had a chance to pop back over and wish you a wonderful vacation. You deserve it!! :goodvibes
Thank you:yay: You too!!!

I swear this is the last yard sale I will ever have. These are so much work! I was too tired to finish last night so I got up at 5am and there were already people in my driveway:eek: I put 6:30am in the ad, which I thought was plenty early (none of the others advertised started before 7)!:sad2: They were a very sweet, older couple, thankfully, and they spent $15 so I can't really complain. It just shocked me.

Anyway, I made $75 today after subtracting the money I spent on the ad and the tables we rented. I am pleased with that. We didn't have many bigger items at all, so that is pretty good. I hope to make at least another $50 tomorrow (more would be nice!). It's a far cry from my last yard sale 2 years ago - I made around $650 then, but we had two beds, a gun closet, baby stuff, and other big items. This time it's mostly clothes honestly with some decor and some big items, so I didn't expect much.

I got a new set of documents in the mail today:yay: I was so excited and surprised to open the envelope and see them. Since I changed my package after they were already printed, I got new ones, but I didn't expect to at all. She told me that I wouldn't. I also got 5 more luggage tags! Yippee! Good times, good times!

Revised to-do list:

  • Yard sale (1/2 way done, thank GOD!!)
  • Clean house top to bottom (I really want to try get it as clean as possible so I can relax when we come home from Disney - the last thing I'll want to do is clean!:guilty: )
  • Get new Epipen for DH
  • Contact POR with requests and let them know we'll be arriving after dinnertime
  • Tie dye 5 shirts (not very likely!!! but still want to try)
  • Finish the last few pages of my 2005 Disney scrapbook (probably not but who knows!)
  • Finish packing (75% done!)
  • Clean out my car/trunk thoroughly
  • Buy Jayden's coaches' gifts @ Lowe's (GCs)
  • Jayden's and Jory's baseball games tomorrow morning
  • Jayden's end of season party tomorrow at noon
  • Haul away yard sale leftovers to good will
  • Sunday school/church Sunday
  • Boys' haircuts Sunday or Monday
  • Return rented tables
  • Get a couple more pairs of shorts for Jess and try to find a 1-pc bathing suit for her
  • Jory's preK graduation Tuesday morning
  • DH cut the lawn Tuesday
  • Switch vehicles with MIL Tuesday night and pack the van completely
  • Install DVD player and pick DVDs to watch
  • Bring the hamster to Will's house
  • Jory's end of year party Wed morning
  • Unplug PC, turn water off, turn thermostat up a bit, set timer on lights
  • Pick up Jess and Jayden from school
  • :cheer2: GO TO DISNEYWORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cheer2:

:woohoo:  ONLY 5 MORE DAYS! :woohoo:
