Hello DISers...
First of all, I have to say if you've read any of my posts, I have deceived you -- I'm not from the South at all. I'm from Indianapolis. My posts over the last nine months have been full of typos, yet I am the most anal person on earth when it comes to spelling.
Why the deception?
Because my wife reads "The DIS" religiously (but rarely posts), but I needed Disney help to plan her surprise 40th birthday trip.
So I basically wanted to let everyone know that my wife, named "markiesgirl" on this forum, is finding out in ten minutes that we're going on a big WDW trip tomorrow for her birthday!
Here are the details:
Participants: Wife and I, DD15, DS14, DS10.
Location: Port Orleans - French Quarter, guaranteed connecting rooms
Dates: Oct 18 through Oct 25
Leaving: tomorrow after school, direct flight
Dining Plan: yes
I paid for airfare, MYW package, and all of the other minor things with some crazy scheming, a couple of "hidden checks" from my second job, and changing all login information and paper billing for our credit card.
But this isn't just a surprise for her, the kids don't know either. They are expecting a dull, boring fall break, but they're going to get fun and a great memory, I hope! Fortunately, we're all Disney fanatics and they have all been whining about how badly they want to go, and how long it's been since we've seen Mickey. Well, in about 28 hours, we'll be stepping off the Magical Express and grinning like monkeys in front of the French Quarter lobby.
She is finding out via a slideshow set to the music of Wishes, complete with Tinkerbell who flies up to the screen and winks right as the crescendoing music peaks, leaving no doubt (for us Disney vets) what this presentation is all about. I'm going to tell her that I'm working on this Powerpoint for work, and I want her to tell me what she thinks of it...
Any way, if you've read this far, would you please tell my wife Jill "happy birthday" on this thread? I will print it out so she can read it on the airplane. Tomorrow.
