The 3 o'clock parade

Do people REALLY ask what time is the 3:00 parade?

Maybe what they really want to know is when will it pass the train station? When will it go past the castle? When will I see it if I am near Splash Montain?
That would be helpful to know.

It is awful to be waiting and waiting (for while because I wanted a good spot) for the 3:00 parade and it does not come by until 3:20!

Something good to know would be how long is the parade? I have been to Independence Day parades that are two hours long.

You're actually closer to the truth than you know. Guests ask cast members when the 3pm parade is going to pass by their current location. But often the question tends to be the "When is the 3 o'clock parade?" Cast members are used to that and tend to answer in terms of location. It tends to be closer to 3:20pm by the time it curves around Town Square hub past the hat shop/Tony's Town Square restaurant/new character meet and greet that used to be the Expo Hall.

You'd be surprised at what seemingly intelligent people ask cast members and are completely serous. Some of my favorites I've heard:

"where is the Magic Kingdom?" while they were standing in the MK!!
"what color train (Aka monorail) goes to the big Disney mall (Aka Downtown Disney)?
"what kind of food does the ice cream parlor serve?"

These are just a few but you get the idea.

my favorite "guest forgot their brain" question
was asked to a friend of mine who worked on a cruise ship...

"Do these stairs go up?"

his reply
"Yes ma'am, and they also go down"

We have been to WDW a few times and up until the last trip my kids never thought much of the timing of the parade. We would go get our spot before 3 and wait. Well this past summer was HOT...Always is in Fla in the summer but it was hotter I swear than other summers we have been there. Anyway the heat was getting to my daughter and she was getting tired of waiting for the parade. She kept asking for the time and finally she asked and it was after 3. She says "they are late! the parade is supposed to start at 3! I don't see the parade!" I laughed she had never noticed before that it actually toock some time for the 3 o clock parade to get over to our area! I told her there was a lot of magic at Disney but they just hadn't worked out a way to apparate a parade right in front of her at 3 o clock. It takes time to get the parade down and around :)

I wonder how long it will take me to go by monorail to Animal Kingdom.

I've overheard misinformation from guests, talking about ways to get from here to there. I was in line years ago for check in at one of the All Star Resorts, late 1990's. The woman behind me was telling her friend or relative that you can take a boat from the Magic Kingdom to Epcot.

Since Epcot is miles away, and last I checked, there's no huge body of water down World Drive...I think she forgot that she took a monorail to Epcot after taking the ferry over to the TTC.

Oh my. I think that these things seem a bit funny because a lot of us have been there many times before. But if it is your first trip you don't really know whats what in the world.

But that comment made me :lmao:.

Along those lines; have you ever noticed that nobody ever asks where is the furthest restroom? :upsidedow

Overheard on last trip:

#1 (While in Norway) "It's so hot that water ride is PACKED!" (talking about Maelstrom!!) :lmao:

#2 (Around 1PM by Test Track) Person 1 "What's that Soarin' ride I keep hearing about?" Person 2 "I think it is a roller coaster." Person 1 " Maybe we should go try and ride it?" Person 1 "Yeah, maybe later." Spending all that money and haven't even heard of Soarin' :sad2:

We were standing on the beach at the Polynesian watching Wishes, and a little kid yells:

"Look mommy you can see the fireworks from Disney World!". Such a cute comment, and cute that the kid thought Disney World was just the Magic Kingdom.

You mean it's not?:confused3

That's cute coming from a kid but so cringe worthy to me when coming from an adult. I seriously have to count to 10 before saying anything - it's such a pet peeve!

It's whatever you want it to be :rolleyes1

I was wondering what they would refer to the other parks as? I mean driving under the arch saying "Walt Disney World" wouldn't you think it applies to the entire space rather than a park?
