Rooting for Spain!!!

Anybody feel sorry for Giuseppe Rossi? He was the American kid born in New Jersey to Italian-immigrant parents who tried to make the Italian team only to fail to qualify. Apparenlty he would have made the US team (probably been one of its stars). Now he has forever lost his eligibility to ever play for the US.

Thank you ma'am, but my mom has already volunteered to take care of us
Wouldn't want to upset mom, even at 36

Actually, I'm a Federal Agent, not a soldier, though I do deploy over here. I don't wish to steal any thunder from our hardworking men and women over here.

Hell no I don't feel sorry for that traitor. He was born here and wants to play for another country, be my guest, don't let the door hit you on the way out.
He also scored twice on USA last year in the Confederations Cup. Have fun watching the Cup at home kid.

I don't feel sorry for him but wouldn't go as far as calling him a traitor either. His parents were born in Italy and he grew up in a house that supported Italy first and the US second. He went back to Italy at the age of 13 to play in the Parma Youth team and has been in Europe ever since.
I really wish he had made a different decision because I think he would have made us a better team but I definitely don't feel sorry for him.
If anyone is interested Andrea Canales did a pretty good article on Rossi and his decision to try and play for Italy back in 2005 on ESPN Soccernet. The article can be found here.
You do realize we are talking about soccer, right? It is not like he joined the Taliban. I think I will withhold the firing squad on this one.

i leave in 1 week for the world cup, I'll take some pictures and do a massive trip report when I get back.... be jealous.
Where are you guys watching the USA/ENG match on Sat?![]()

Really? We're talking about soccer? I couldn't tell by the title of this thread.![]()
Then perhaps you could explain how a soccer player is a traitor then? Am I guilty of treason for supporting Germany?
Who you calling ma'am? Last time I checked, I was a sir (that can't be right. I'm an enlisted man. You can't call me sir)
As far as I'm concerned. If you are in country, which it sounds like you are, troop or not, you are serving in some capacity and we thank you for it.
