Hi. My Dad's family is from Burlington. Have great memories as a child of riding the carousel in the city park. Is it still going? I have not been there except to pass through on the way to the beach in several years.

Yes, the Carousel is still running. They have a festival every year in its honor. They have had some big name talent, including the Dixie Chicks just before they broke big.

All this talk about sweet tea and such reminds me about a trip to WDW. We were at 50s PTC and as soon as we opened our mouths, the waitress said we dont have sweet tea or Dr Pepper. She knew hands down we were from NC

I agree!! When my husband was stationed in Texas I used to carry Cherry Lemon sundrop by the case back with me after every visit home!!!

Victoria & Albert's will be renamed...Vicky Lynn & Delbert's. The menu will still be quite exotic with such offerings as possum, squirrel and rabbit. Of course there will be a BBQ amuse bouche featuring a small taste of BBQ from each area of the state.

Chef Mickey's and all other buffets will be Baptist church potluck style. Bring a dish and make sure there's enough for everyone.

Catch-and-release fishing excursions????? What in the heck is that all about. "Boy, throw that thing in the cooler. Mama will fry that up when we get back to Fort Wilderness".

Vicky and Delbert's (see above) will still be upscale. We'll use REAL Chinette plates instead of the Walmart brand.

We have a ressie to stay one night at HHI enroute to our BLT vacation in February. We planned this mainly as a way of checking out the resort prior to future stays.

I would love to get a NC Perspective of the resort. Have any of you been?

I just happen to have two of them rusted out cars on my back lot. I’m having them loaded and shipped to KV ASAP! Now; who has some goats?

DH is always looking for that kindred spirit out there to talk DVC. He went gaga when a friend of mine and I hosted a Pampered Chef party. He discovered she was a member and started talking DVC. I had to cram food in his mouth and shove him out of the kitchen to get him to stop. He is my Disney nut.

I have a friend who just this morning was talking about how she was ready to get rid of her goats. She is actually coming to Charlotte with me for Mary Poppins tomorrow... we could just bring them with us and ship them down to AKV with your cars.
