It's time...

Spring is in the air and time to get your golf clubs out of your closet or trunk and hit hooks onto the driving range. With the flowers and trees in bloom, it's nice to see a wonderful golf course once a year on CBS. And there is 56 minutes of golf action per hour.

This year's tournament is sure to draw huge ratings worldwide due to Mr. Woods first steps on the course since winning the Aussie Masters back in November. With all the wrongs that Tiger has done over the years, does he have his mojo back or is there rust in his game? Or is Ernie Els ready for his first green jacket, winning his last 2 events? Is Sergio ready to finally win his first major in honor of his countryman, Seve, who has brain cancer. Just a lot of soap operas in 4 days.

http://www.masters.com/en_US/index.html is the official website.

For our Canadian friends...http://tsn.ca has coverage on the network and website.

A site I like to go to during the Masters is http://www.augusta.com/masters/news/ ,local talk and gossip about the Masters.

Enjoy the Masters.

The Masters, the OFFICIAL start of golf season, for us anyway. What's even better, our weather is cooperating this year so we can actually golf here. Usually we have to wait a week or two after the Masters to get out on the course :thumbsup2. I wish they would do the commercial free version again though :lmao:.

Oh, and another plus for the invention of the computer-live streaming from Amen Corner!!

Weather is beautiful here -but we have so much pollen.
We always do in the spring -but the worst is usually over before the tournament.
This year the pollen is a little late -it is everywhere

Maybe we will get a little shower before it starts to wash some of it away

One of my favorite weeks of the year! Of course this year, we'll be spending the week at the World instead of watching the tournament. I'll miss watching most of it, but I'm sure I'll still catch some of it. I'm pulling for Els this year.

And if you have an iPhone there is an official Master app that has live scoring, video, course maps with video flyovers of the holes, etc. Cool stuff. Can't wait to put it to work next week! :)

Great thread! I've got Augusta National year-round. Paintings of #10 and #16 hanging in my family room. DH grew up going with his dad and is a Masters nut!

Clarabelle is right. We have too much pollen! And this past weekend, we had clouds of pollen floating over the area. We need a good rain to wash it away, but I'm sure the golfers and fans hope it's nothing but clear skies and sunny weather until next Monday!

Watching the Par 3 contest on my iPhone right now... well, listening to it mostly as I'm also working, but still, it is there... and it is freaking cool.

I, too, wonder how Tiger Woods will respond. But DH said that the Masters is the most tightly run tournament, no one will be able to say anything (at least not more than a word). And one of his stripper "girl-friends" threatened to show up demanding an apology. I doubt the Master's will allow her past the front gate-they probably already have her photo circulating in case she shows up.
BTW, DH went to Bay Hill once and loved it. He calls it his WDW in Orlando.

Living in the midst of it right now.

Traffic, surprisingly, has not been bad around "the National" so far. Of course construction on I-20 and Washington Rd (the road "the National" is on) is FINALLY finished.

Most people come early and leave in the early afternoon.

However, the pollen is ooo bad. When the wind blows it looks like yellow rain. I wore my flip flops outside the other day, for a quick walk in he backyard to our storage building and when I came back inside, my navy blue flip flops were yellow as well as my feet.

I've had to rinse off my cars every single day. Now I'm just waiting for my sinuses to go into overdrive.....not fun considering I just got over a sinus infection 2 weeks ago.

Such a treat to see the par 3 on ESPN today. Great ending to Arnold Palmer's round at the 9th hole. And with the player's kids as caddies.

With Tiger, he will make the cut, but CBS will not show Tiger on Sat and Sun due to him teeing off in the late morning, just show him on the late holes as CBS is going on the air. Also, strong words about Tiger by Billy Payne, chairman of Augusta National.

I still think that Ernie Els will win the jacket.

Watching Amen Corner live on the website..

This is better than watching the NCAA on demand.

We've got great weather today in Pennsylvania, and it just makes the first round of the Masters seem that much more magical. I love the thought of the calm, serene music playing over the pictures of Augusta on Sunday.

It really soothes the soul, and gets me itchy to hit the links ASAP!

As usual, Tiger hits the fairway on the 1st shot.

Angel Caberra is looking good, so is Tom Watson.

Following along on the Masters iPhone app. No commercials, video of things the network coverage doesn't show... great stuff! If you have an iPhone and do not have the Masters app then shame on you and may you develop the yips and shanks all at the same time. :)

Yay-I've never been so happy to see the Federal Express truck arrive. Our TV chose this time, with the Masters, to blow a major bulb. I just Emailed DH, and I'll bet this will be the fastest drive home he's ever taken to get the new bulb (or whatever cost him $165) installed so he can watch his beloved Masters.
