Well, it's official. After 2 weeks at CBR, for the first week of oct. I've just booked a standard HA room at the BC. :thumbsup2

Can anybody tell me which drinks are available at the refill station? I'm assuming tea, coffee, lemonade, something else? How about Fanta? Already found out they offer it at the Boardwalk to Go. :goodvibes

Does anybody know?

FYI, the lemonade is diet--my kids couldn't drink it. They had an orange soda, and coke, sprite, iced tea, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. Maybe a fruit punch also?

We were very disappointed that the lemonade was diet. I think the fruit punch was the only non-diet decaf option beside sprite. The kids ended up getting hot chocolate of all things most times and putting in extra milk to make it like chocolate milk.

And to WILDFLOWER debating two rooms vs. a 2bd villa at BC, remember that with the villa you'll get a kitchen (you might not cook, but a real fridge and big table for eating is nice) and you'll get a washer and dryer in your room which I LOVE because it means less packing. You'll also get a nicer stand-alone shower and jacuzzi tub. You'll also have three rooms--two bedrooms and the living room/kitchen. I like having a place in the morning to have coffee where no one is sleeping.

If the 2bd villa and two separate rooms were even close in price I'd jump on it.

Thanks for the info Jenny. :thumbsup2 Seems like they standardly do lemonade light at the resorts, or put differentely; it's the only thing I've seen at both CBR and AKL during my stays there. Only time I've ran into a non light version is the lemonade at AKL CL lounge. Makes you wonder why not just offer both versions and please both 'sides'. No biggie for me though, I only drink the light version. :)

The orange soda almost has to be Fanta, it's the only orange soda the CC company has, afaik. If it's important for you; those are also decaf and non-diet at WDW.

Coke, Diet Coke, Minute Maid Light Lemonade, Sprite, root beer, and Fanta Orange are the ones that I remember. The marketplace at the Beach Club used to be the only place on property that had Mr. Pibb but I don't think that they have it anymore. They also had coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and a Gold Peak tea machine that had sweetened lemon, unsweetened, sweetened green, and sweetened white tea.

I thought I remembered seeing a refurbed room from Beach Club on this thread...Does anybody remember what post it was? I'm going back to try to find it myself, but there's a lot of pages!

I just need to share this w/ someone. I have not been on this Thread for over a year(I didn't want to be reminded of what I was missing) Anyway, I'm reasoning w/ my husband why it wouldn't be that much more $$ to upgrade to YC from POR(ie. no need for water park ticks, no need for waterview) So imagine my surprise when he tells me to call and check, mind you we are leaving in two weeks. Well the only room available under 4/3 deal is CL ....He OKed IT!!! :cool1: So once again we will be returning to our favorite resort! Thanks for letting me brag, I really don't want to tell a lot of people. By the way our three boys still think we are staying at POR, they are going to be so geeked! We are going to try to wait to tell them. So it looks like I'm back, for a couple of weeks anyways.:flower3:

Wildflower, it depends a bit on the time of year your going. You can see the rack rates before tax at; http://www.mousesavers.com/dvcresorts2010.html for the BCV (just scroll down to BCV) and at http://www.mousesavers.com/yachtclub2010.html for the YC. As you can see, a 2-bedroom villa at BCV at rack rate is already cheaper than 2 YC rooms, when going during value season. Going by your mention of the 100-day mark, I'm guessing your going during the second part of april? At rack rate regular season, the 2 bedroom would be a bit more expensive per night than 2 rooms at YC.

The PIN-code for DCV is at least 40%. I've heard some folks about 45%, but didn't check on that myself. If that would be true, the price for the 2 options might become very comparable.

What you could do, is have them pricing out a 2-bedroom villa at BWV, assuming they've got availability overthere with the PIN. Those villas are priced at the same rate as those at the BCV, so that way you would get a good idea of pricing.

Another thing you might want to take a look at is the picture thread. The looks of the BCV is different than those of the BC rooms. Personally I found I didn't care for the BCV look, but do for the BC and YC look.

Thanks goofeyslonglostsis! I compared the rates using your links, and found that a villa would cost us $39 more per night than the two rooms at YC (figuring using the pin code for both). That's just a drop in the bucket compared to the cost of this vacation, but I need to decide if it is a better option for our family. I do agree with you on the looks of the BCV rooms compared to the YC rooms.

Thanks for the advice jennypenny! The washer/dryer is a pretty big draw for me. We're ending our vacation with a DCL cruise, and it would be nice to have a chance to do a little laundry before we leave.

Decisions, decisions! If we do decide a villa would be better, I will definitely check into renting DVC points. I didn't realize that might save us more money than the pin code.

Also, can anyone confirm that guests of BCV have access to SAB along with BC and YC guests? I think I read that they do, but I wanted to make sure.

Yes, BCV is part of BC so you will have access to SAB. We are currently renting points for our BCV stay and found for the time of year we're going it saves over the 40% code. HTH!

Have a great stay! We stayed at YC CL October 2008 and found the CMs to be very helpful. We stayed BC CL in July and I believe they have the same offerings. Ds fell in love with the sugar mickey shaped cookies and I loved the home made potato chips they put out in the afternoon.

We arrive at the YC on Sunday :yay:. Where can I get a good cup of coffee in the mornings? I am up and usually showered by 5:30 am...and I need coffee after that.

I haven't read through the whole thread yet but does anyone know if all the rooms at YC have been renovated? The last I checked, they had completed the concierge.

Someone started a thread asking about a map of YC showing room numbers to try to figure out which rooms had which views. Does anyone know of one? I have googled and come up empty. TIA

The site in the post above says that some of the rooms in YC and BC only have double beds...is this correct? I thought all the deluxe resorts had queen beds standard. Hmmm this could be a deal breaker for us if they have some rooms with double beds; it would be our luck to get one of these rooms.
TIA.

TeenaS has previously said that all the double beds at BC have been replaced by queens.

I believe all rooms at YC have been renovated. We stayed there the week between Christmas and New Years. It was our first time there. Loved the location and the resort.

Here are some pics of our room and the view from our balcony---Room 3175
