Thanks Teena! FOUR MORE DAYS!:cool1::yay:

Georgiasmom, we're going to be down there the same time as you - I can't wait! (except I see you're not checking in to BCV until Monday, and we're actually leaving that day :sad2: after a short trip - but still HAVE FUN!!:cheer2:)

Teena, you're awesome as usual for posting the movies and activities!

Teena - great news about Cape May Buffet. That's one of our "must-dos" anyway for both breakfast and dinner!

The activities at BC are great! Lots of times my kids can't wait to get back to BC for the pool activities! The CMs are really good with the kids and there are so many fun activities. They also do the campfire and movie night last summer and really had a ball. Can't wait to get back!

Of course I'm prejudiced a bit but I think the Y&B is a fantastic choice especially if you plan on spending time enjoying the resort. We have so much to do and the location is so great to walk into Epcot every night for dinner. What a choice of restaurants four minutes away! We have lots of guests that come with their annual passes, especially in the summer, and spend the whole time at the resort. They only go into the parks to eat dinner. With our activities and SAB, it certainly would make a fantastic vacation without the attractions at the parks. And the Boardwalk activities and restaurants are a short walk around the lake. Many people don't even take advantage of all we offer (activities/pool) and that's a shame.

Hope to see you all soon!!

Just returned from our first stay at Yacht Club. We loved it. I have to admit, I was a little nervous about not being at the Poly and having the monorail at my doorstep, but I shouldn't have worried. The location was great! We loved walking to Epcot, or taking the water taxi to the Studios. I also didn't have any problems with bus transpo either. It seemed like a short 10 minute ride to Magic Kingdom.

The beds were so comfortable. My DD has already requested this resort, because in her words, "the beds feel so good!" I have to agree that they were probably the best feeling beds I've slept on while at Disney.

My one complaint would be the layout of the bathroom (shower/tub and toilet). There was some poor planing on the room designers of how they laid out this room. The bathroom door almost hit the toilet. You had to step in, pushing the door all the way into the bathroom, step around the toilet, then close the door. AWKWARD!

Overall, Loved our stay. Will probably book YC or BC for the AP discount end of May, first of June.

Teena I am glad you posted that. It mades me feel better about our Dec trip. I know weather can not be predicted but I was concerned because I wanted to be at the BC or YC for 5-6 nights with only going to Osborne Lights one evening. Nothing but hotel day. I am hoping for 70 at least so we can swim... yes we Northerners :)

I'm wondering what others experiences are with the bus transportation at the YC/BC. Them sharing busses for MK, AK and DTD with the BWI, Swan and Dolphin makes me a bit apprehensive. Not too worried about the time it takes up, more about the load of people. If I'm ont mistaken there are a lot more rooms at these resorts together than at the CBR.

I'm a CBR lover (LOVE the atmosphere) and as such am used to multiple busstops. I'm booked at CBR at the moment for 3 weeks in sept/oct. Since my last trip it turned out my health is getting a much larger permanent set back after travel, so I'm trying to reduce this where possible. Might just be that this next trip will be my last trip in a long time.

Anywho, at the moment I'm booked for 3 weeks which has the benefit of having 'aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall' the time in the world and no need to rush to do 'all at once' and option to take some down days in between.

I always do parks with breaks in between, where I tend to go back to the resort -get more rest there than at first ad-, which makes me reconsider location. CBR is very close to DHS and Epcot, but staying at the YC or BC might still safe travel time? At least no need to wait for a bus. Another bonus is the many dining options right at the resort area. No need to hop on a bus for a TS dinner, as I'm known to do. Also for the real bad days there is the option of room service. As said I'm apprehensive about the bus transportation, though. I tend to drop into MK quite a lot during a stay and also go to DTD for an hour or so very regularly. As said, I'm worried about heavier loads and thus also the chance of more wheelchair users and (rightfully so!) me having to wait my turn and transportation taking some time. Good thing about CBR is that many of those using a mobility aid seem to shy away from it, leaving all the more wheelchair places on the bus for me. ;)

Downside of changing the ressie to YC or BC; budget would only allow for 14 days, which is stretching it already to some extend. Feels like a short time when wanting to do parks, resort time, off site shopping.

OK, a lot of babbling but really just asking; what are others experiences with the bus transportation and would you guys consider the possibles pros of the YC and BC worth the possible cons and staying a week shorter at WDW?

Ready to book for our first visit to BC (or maybe YC) for mid March. :yay: I have been looking through the threads and found so much information and many good photos of room views. Room view is very important to us since we have 2 young children and will be spending 2 or 3 days as resort days (non-park days).

I'm thinking we need to book a water view so we are assured of a nice view but I am not sure if the best water views are at BC or YC. All opinions appreciated!!

Can anyone help with what views are available at each resort? Does BC have Epcot fireworks view? What is/are the most requested view(s)?

Are there many nice standard views?

Thanks BC/YC fans!! We are so excited to be staying here!!:goodvibes

We had lovely waterviews at YC - direct lakefront view with Boardwalk in the background. We had a deluxe club room in BC with a view of the quiet pool, which is considered waterview. It was an okay view - but we loved the proximity to the quiet pool and EPCOT. If I was going purely for the waterview I would request either a view of Crescent Lake or SAB (which is really pretty when it is lit up at night).

Regarding the bus transportation. We've stayed at BC/YC in both the summer months and October. The only sharing of the buses we encountered were YC and BC. We never really had any trouble with the buses. Of course we preferred the water taxis even more.

Teena -

Although we'll miss (and loved) the CS breakfast at Beaches and Cream there are still lots of options for breakfast. We too like the breakfast at Sunshine Seasons, DH loves the yogurt parfait and Marketplace - the kids and I get bagels, fruit, muffins, etc. You can use your snack credits for these. Boardwalk Bakery has a pretty good breakfast pannini sandwich.

SAB definitely more than makes up for lack of a "mickey waffle" cs place.

We decided to book YC for the Inaugural Half Marathon Run in October. YC is a "host hotel" so hopefully we'll get a good rate. Of course we're hoping for a good AP rate for our July trip!

Teena - have a great visit with your daughter!

BCV - hope you're having a fantastic stay at BC! Think of me when you're lounging at SAB with a nice specialty drink from Hurricane Hannahs. It is bitterly cold here in NJ and I am sooooo missing the BC!

I, too, love the yogurt parfaits at the BC Marketplace.

Thanks for the good wishes.:goodvibes It is cold enough today that Hurricane Hannah's is closed :scared1: but it is sure warmer than up North. Stay warm!

You are not missing anything here in IL...BBRRRRR! lol

Have a great time...!

Enjoy your trip! :thumbsup2

Thanks, ladies!

AHHHH :cloud9: Have a great trip.

I took a break from the boards for a while and nice to hear you are enjoying another wonderful stay!

It is so good to see you post, HockeyMomR. :goodvibes I've missed your expertise and friendly posts.:surfweb:

Hi! I have stayed at the BC, BCV and YC but a dear friend of mine is taking her 3 kiddos to WDW in March and staying at the YC CL. She has a GV and is asking me all kinds of questions about views, lounge offerings, size of lounge, room locations, etc. I am usually on the GF thread and know a lot about that resort but am feeling a bit uninformed about YC CL.:confused3

What kind of rooms can she expect with a GV CL? Does she need to request a daybed or do all the CL rooms have them? Would she be better off trying to change to a water view room? What are the lounge offerings like?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! :hippie:

Hi, minniesota. :wave2: We were upgraded to club level at the YC last month. We had a gardenview room that overlooked the driveway. I thought the view was lovely with lots of trees in the background. Our room did have a daybed but from what others have posted, all do not so I would request it if I were her.

The offerings in the lounge were very nice and the CMs were even better! One thing I especially enjoyed was sliced hardboiled eggs at breakfast. Lovely presentation and it was nice to have an option with protein.

Teena the Terrific
...love that moniker for you. It was great chatting with you yesterday morning and my daughter enjoyed meeting you in the afternoon. Have a wonderful visit with your daughter. Hope to see you next vacation unless you're off traveling again.:goodvibes

Thanks Disneymom for the info--I wanted to add that view is not the ONLY consideration. If there are families with young children with thoughts on best location/floor etc they are welcome. We really enjoyed staying at Poly on first floor, garden view. But most Poly rooms seemed to have a decent view. And no standard views only GV.

THANKS SO MUCH TEENA

We give you beach towels at SAB. We give you towels in the lobby as you are coming into the lobby when its raining outside. We give you towels in the room. We are crazy about towels!!

:confused3

ABSOLUTELY! I'm down there in 3 days, and I'll be racing you to the pool....let's see which one of us is crazy enough to get in first!
(Actually, the last time I stayed at the Beach Club (IN OCTOBER!!!) it was really cold as well, so I'm speaking from experience here - with the way they heat the pools, they're not so bad, even if it's cold outside. The problem is when you get out of one section to walk to a different one! Then BRRRRRRRRRR :scared1: But, on the bright side, Stormalong Bay will not be overcrowded :cool1:)

I like taking my beach towel along because it's oversized, comfortable, and FIGMENT. But as Teena already mentioned, there's plenty of towels available for you to use while you're there!

Is SAB heated? how about quiet pools?
We are from Connecticut and are used to swimming in the COLD ocean, so we will be one of the crazy groups swimming in the pools!!!!!
17 more days, can't wait to get away from the snow.

I believe ALL pools on property are heated (82 degrees?). SAB definitely.

Don't want anybody too upset but if it doesn't get warmer than 50 during the day, SAB will probably not open.

It was in the 20's the last few nights and some days lately it has only been a high in the mid 40's during the day.

We haven't had these kind of temperatures for over nine years they are saying. We are breaking records. And yes, we have had cold days before even in October like somebody said, but nothing like this.

However, even when SAB is closed, the quiet pools are open for those who really want to go swimming. I'd bring a wet suit though!
