Question: On our arrival day if we arrive at the Beach Club Villas at noon will they allow us to use the various pools (inc. Stormalong Bay) even though we may not be able to check in until 3:00 PM? Would they store our luggage for us until the room was ready?
Any help will be much appreciated!

Check-in time at the Villas is 4 PM which means the room might not be ready until 4 PM. However, if you get there at 7 AM, you can check-in and get your keys. The Bell Services desk which is directly across from the Front Desk will gladly store your luggage until your room is ready. And you can get access to the luggage during the day if you need to. You will get your keys when you check in whether or not your room is ready and therefore you can go to the parks or SAB or anywhere you want. You are officially a guest of the Villas as soon as you get your keys at the front desk whether or not your actual room is ready.

Unfortunately I'll be away ... I'm working this Sunday and Monday and then I'll be visiting my daughter from the 8th through the 16th and won't be back at work until Sunday, 1/17.

Hope you have a super time and the weather isn't too cold. Right now it's really cold but hopefully it will warm up for you.

Oh fudge, just my luck! You have a wonderful time visiting your daughter. I'm praying for some warm sunshine! It's so bitter cold here in New Jersey!
Thanks Teena for all your help to all of us! :thumbsup2

Sorry I'm going to miss you. I totally know about NJ ... I was born and raised in Burlington County so I'm feeling your pain. But boy do I ever miss the Jersey and Pennsylvania corn and tomatoes in the summer. Florida's corn and tomatoes can't even come close. But you gotta love our citrus!

Anyone have the schedule for beach movies and other resort activities?

We'll be at the world the 8-18 (8-11 BLT 11-18 BCV)

Thanks

Amy

Maybe I will catch you Sunday before we leave on the 17th!

Yes our Jersey Tomatos and Silver Queen Corn are to die for, as are our blueberries, but your citrus is the very BEST!!!!:thumbsup2

So after a zillion changes more grey hair than I wanted :lmao: and tons of dining changes I am finally done changing my reservations
I will be at YC CL water view 2/27-3/3. Is there anything special to request for those types of rooms? I am so excited I just loved the pics of the rooms. We would be likely facing BW right?

YC CL Waterview rooms have fabulous views, yes, they will face the BW. Some rooms are down the hall from the lounge and lookover SAB (BW in the distance) and some of the rooms are closer to the lounge looking over YC back entrance (BW in the distance). All are great views, your only request may be "daybed" or close to lounge if either of these are imporant to you. Have a fabulous time.

Thanks HockeyMom

We splurged for the GF and orginally got 2 rooms so we kept that here. Dh and I in 1 and DM and the kids in the other. You know they will want to stay with Grandma and not mom :goodvibes do these rooms have kings?

Being close to the lounge would be a plus. Can you see the fireworks from you room near the lounge. I just can't decide :) I would love to have a view of lake at night, the pics look beautiful. But the kids would love to watch fireworks from the room...

woohoo!
I am returning to YC CL for the beginning of F & W...and YC is also a host hotel for the Inaugural Wine and Dine 1/2!!
We brought DD here for her first stay when she was 14mth old...took advanage of the BB offer in December:)

So I am 95% sure we will be booking The Beach Club for our Aug 2010 trip.:goodvibes I was just looking at the resort menus on Allearsnet.com and had a few questions. It would appear that the Beach Club Market Place doesn't have a lot of options in terms of kids offerings based on that menu. So i was hoping someone can help with some specifics. :) The only 2 kids offerings on the menu is PB&J or a Turkey sandwich..is this really the only 2 kids choices? Do they have anything for breakfast? Should we just plan our CS breakfasts elsewhere? We all enjoy Mickey Waffles on the go before we hit the parks..not seeing them as an option.. Also, is this the place where we would re-fill our refillable mugs? As much as I love the idea of staying here I am a little worried about lack of *quick meals* for our family on the go. We have stayed at the Poly and AKL and enjoyed their CS options..Is the Beach Club missing this?....Any help or suggestions would be appreciated!

Just fyi, not all of the standard waterview rooms have a great view. I see you're doing CL and I would assume that won't be an issue. When we checked in our waterview room was completely obstructed by a plant and only had a standing balcony. It also reeked of cigarette smoke and my little daughter has allergies so we politely requested a room change. The staff apologized repeatedly and immediately switched our room to 2615 which had a wonderful view through a quiet courtyard to the beach and lake with the boardwalk in the distance and a large balcony.

I was told incorrectly that you can't request rooms, it may be a good idea to at least request a level/floor you would prefer. Good luck! The Beach Club is a wonderful hotel and after that little hiccup we had a fantastic stay.

HockeyMom was correct. She was talking about the Yacht Club. You were at the Beach Club. The Beach Club (not the Yacht Club) has the standing balcony issues.

Smoking is prohibited on the patios and balconies and in the rooms. However, some people ignore the rules. We certainly will attempt to move you or fix the problem if you should get into a room where the previous guest ignored the rules.

You can certainly request anything you want. However, a request is just that: a request. Nothing is guaranteed. The room assignors try their best to meet your requests but in the case of the Beach Club, as you can imagine, probably 90% of the guests all request a full balcony. Obviously, everybody is not going to get what they requested - there aren't enough full balconies.

You are correct, the lunch menu at the Marketplace only offer the PB&J or turkey sandwich for kids for a CS lunch. However, Hurricane Hannah's is also open for lunch and has loads of things kids like for CS lunches.

As far as CS breakfast options, we are very limited indeed -- a few items at the Marketplace is pretty much it. There is also the Bakery across the way at the Boardwalk but that isn't much better. I also suggest to guests that they get an early start at the parks and eat their CS breakfast there if that is what they are looking for. The Mickey Waffles are in the buffets at the Cape May and at the Captain's Grill but they are not CS. Last summer they did a "test" and had a nice CS breakfast at Beaches & Cream. It went over very well but it was only a test. We are all hoping they bring it back permanently.

If you are on the dining plan, I always suggest that you use your CS for an early lunch at the parks and use your table service for dinner. It seems you get the most out of the dining plan money wise if you use your meals that way. When we are using the dining plan, we grab a quick muffin or cereal in the morning (pay for it or use our snack option), get a large early lunch at the parks with our counter service (our favorite is Blame Tree BQ at DAK) and use the table service for a dinner. When you use your table service for a character breakfast at around $18-23 a pop, it's like tearing up twenty dollar bills. That same table service can be used for dinner at Teppan Edo or somewhere similar and it would cost you $40+ for that meal. If I want to do a character breakfast, I pay for it with cash.

You can refill your mugs out by the pool at Beaches & Cream and also at the Marketplace.

I agree we are lacking for CS breakfast options, but we are a super nice friendly resort and I personally think SAB makes up for the lack of CS breakfasts. And remember, we are only a 4 minute walk to Epcot where you can get a nice CS breakfast at Sunshine Seasons after you get your fastpass to Soarin.

Good morning, everyone. Posting from BCV.....love this place. The Christmas decor is still up and just beautiful.

Teena, I'll be looking for you in the lobby today.

Just tried to check the movie schedule and realized we received December's activities....I'll have to ask for a new one today.

Teena -

Although we'll miss (and loved) the CS breakfast at Beaches and Cream there are still lots of options for breakfast. We too like the breakfast at Sunshine Seasons, DH loves the yogurt parfait and Marketplace - the kids and I get bagels, fruit, muffins, etc. You can use your snack credits for these. Boardwalk Bakery has a pretty good breakfast pannini sandwich.

SAB definitely more than makes up for lack of a "mickey waffle" cs place.

We decided to book YC for the Inaugural Half Marathon Run in October. YC is a "host hotel" so hopefully we'll get a good rate. Of course we're hoping for a good AP rate for our July trip!

Teena - have a great visit with your daughter!

BCV - hope you're having a fantastic stay at BC! Think of me when you're lounging at SAB with a nice specialty drink from Hurricane Hannahs. It is bitterly cold here in NJ and I am sooooo missing the BC!
