thanks ever so much for replying Teena!:lovestruc I currently still have my booking for mid december, and I think I might hold onto that - I love the idea of Santa and choirs in the lobby!!:santa: - many thanks!:thumbsup2

Santa in the past has been in the BC lobby from 5 to 9 on Christmas Eve only. I do not know for sure he'll be there this year as I have not seen a schedule of events. Characters in their holiday clothes have also been in the lobby for pictures and autographs. Most of the activities if I remember correctly are the two weeks prior to Christmas. If or when I see a schedule, I'll certain let everybody know.

CocoaBean1, I meant to look this up yesterday and edit my other reply to you.

There is one side of one wing of BCV on the Epcot side of the building that doesn't afford any view of Illuminations. The villas are odd numbered between 39 and 51. It is a lovely peaceful view nonetheless.

Hope that helps and BTW, welcome to the DIS! :dance3:

Thanks, that would be great.

There is a place in the lobby - I think it's called the Al & Compass or something like that - they have breakfast items in the morning like bagels, croissants, muffins and coffee and juice.

That's great. I was hoping that we didn't have to go all the way over to the Marketplace at BC. We are DVC members and normally stay at BCV, so I am not too familiar with YC. Thanks! That will work just fine for us. Do they also do the refillable soda mug?

Thanks for the info- its sounds like I'm going to have to take what ever is available, since the BCV is always full- but I will ask for "upper level, large balcony with a view of Epcot and Illuminations"- I guess it can't hurt. At least I will be at Disney!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That sounds perfect...where in the lobby is it? We are taking our own coffee this time. The last few times the coffee in the packs in the room was pretty bad :sad2:

Just curious regarding the coffee makers, if you do take your own coffee do you take filters (size?) and coffee? or are the filters provided and we just need coffee? :surfweb:

Coming in the front entrance, it's off to the left - you can't miss it - it's right before the Captain's Grill...I rarely see it mentioned on here for some reason, but it was exactly what we were looking for in the morning.

If you get a chance, you could walk over to the BW and get something from the Boardwalk Bakery, too - yummy!!!

Any chance someone can post a picture of the Christmas carousel in the YC lobby? We won't be there this year to see it.

Thanks

I don't have a digital camera ... maybe Santa will bring one to us this year. There are loads of Disers coming in around Thanksgiving. Hopefully someone will post some pictures. The carousel is in the BC lobby. A old fashioned Lionel train set is set up in the lobby of the YC.

We are staying at the BC in less than two weeks, and I take pictures of EVERYTHING (just ask my DH!), so I will be happy to post when I return.

This is our first time at BC, or at any Boardwalk area resort, for that matter. We have always wanted to stay there, but it has been out of our price range. Thanks to the military salute program (DH is retired AF), we can finally do it! It's a short trip, but we are SO looking forward to it.

I called today just to check on DME tags (which we have not yet received) and to ask about a couple other things. I started talking to the CM on the phone about how much we were looking forward to the trip, and I surprised myself by getting very emotional! My mother and my husband's father both passed away in the past few months, and this will be such a good chance to just step away from the real world and enjoy each other's company and that of our daughter, who turns 18 on Monday.

Having never stayed at BC, I did not know what to ask for as a room request, any suggestions? We have standard view, and it really does not matter to me as long as we are at BC, but I thought I would ask anyway. We are especially looking forward to being able to walk to Epcot, our favorite park.

I was happy to see the post above about the spot to get quick breakfast foods in the mornings. We do not plan any big breakfasts, but we are early risers and hope to get some quick things to eat before heading to the parks. We also plan to get refillable mugs for hot tea or chocolate in the mornings and sodas during the day. Where can we get those refilled?

TIA, just happy to be heading to WDW!

I am so sorry to hear of your losses...:hug:I hope that you and your family have a great stay at the BC and thanks to your DH for his service; my brother is still active in the AF:thumbsup2

HI Sue, sounds like we might be at the BC at the same time. So very sorry for your losses. My dad is ret AF as well and we look forward to making lots of magical memories with him and my kids. It's our first trip and we are soo excited. We arrive on the 6th, maybe we'll bump into you and you too, Teena!

See you there, Jenny

I'll be there on the 6th and 7th. See you then!

In case those going soon are interested, DW and I were at BC in late September. We focused most of our eating to places close to the BC (or in the parks). Here's the link: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2291254 I checked, and it does appear that I posted a review for the Boardwalk Bakery.

Hoping this helps fellow BC/YC guests.

Plus- we got to meet Teena. I've got a beautiful photo to prove it, even!

I know this was once discussed but is there a difference in the quality of burgers between Hurricane Hannahs and Beaches & Cream?

Those are great reviews, truly helpful. Thank you for posting!

Hurricane Hanna's advertises that the burger they serve is the Beaches and Cream burger, but I swear that the one I had at HH tasted a whole lot better than the one I had at B&C!

Thanks!

I believe that other people have said the same.
