I have a question...

i want to make my own coffee, do i need the small 4 cup size filters?

thanks

Sorry if this has been asked recently-my kids are driving me crazy today so I can't page thru...we're headed down to YC in 10 days-just curious if all the rooms are done with refurbishment now? TIA!

BC first timers...so afraid we will miss the Poly:sad1:....but loved this area when we stayed at the Swan in 2008.

Looking forward to a great trip...:dance3:

I LOVE the Poly too!!! I've stayed at both BC and the Poly and they have different things to love about them :) Best things about BC - walk to Epcot...or Boardwalk...or YC...or etc, movie on the beach!!!, hot tubs, lovely welcoming hotel, and the walk to Epcot (not a mistake that I mentioned it twice!) And yes, Stormalong Bay is there too but this is not what I put in my 'BC-better-than-Poly' bucket (wow, I know!)

You won't have a bad time at BC and if you find you prefer one hotel over the other, at least you will know!! You'll never know if you don't try.

There are very few rooms with king beds in them. You can't book a king bed. You can just request one. And some of the few rooms that do have king beds don't have daybeds in them either. You can certainly request anything you want. I really think it's a real real real long shot that a party of four is going to get a room with a king bed, a daybed and then request a rollaway. I think you'd have a much better chance of requesting and getting a room with two queens and a daybed.

We (DH & I) stayed in room 1598 one month ago.
We had requested a king bed- our ONLY request as it was our 2nd honeymoon.:cloud9:
What a beautiful room:lovestruc- not the standard layout- a longer entrance hall with closet, bath, then room. There is no room in a room like that for a rollaway and there was no daybed- which was fine with us.
We did not feel like the room was small at all- it was perfect. We had windows on 2 sides and a door on another side and much more privacy that the traditionally laid out rooms we could view as we walked down the stone path outside our door.
One brief word of advice someone gave me...
You are going to be so happy just to BE at the BC :woohoo:that having your room with the "just so" view or whatever won't make much of a difference.
Just relax and have fun!

As I write DH is looking :surfweb:for BC deals on ebay... pure torture :headache:because it's just not in the budget for a LONG, long time to come!!! Oh well...:sad2:

Some king bed rooms do have room for rollaways, some don't. The sizes and layouts of the rooms vary at the BC.

Is it faster or easier to get to MK by walking around Epcot to monorail or dealing with the bus? We don't mind walking and are a fast bunch- we call it 'kick it into Disney mode' even when we are home and have to walk fast.

Also, thank you all so much for this great thread! We have always stayed at the Poly and next week is our first trip to BC. The info. here was a big reason we made the switch. :)

everything I have read seems to say that, despite the bus being slow at times, it is still quicker to do that than to walk through epcot, get the monorail to TTC and then switch to either the boat or the other monorail. Hope that helps!!:thumbsup2

It's much faster to go via bus!! No matter how fast you walk, you would have to walk all way through to the front of Epcot (at least 15-20 minutes), then wait for the monorail, then ride it to the TTC, then get off and wait for the next monorail and then ride it to MK.

When I go to MK and most of the CMs I work with do the same thing, we drive to the BC, park in Cast parking and take the bus. Much faster than dealing with the TTC!

I think I recall reading on this thread that they were supposed to be completed by the end of October so I am thinking you should not have to worry about anything. Try going back on this thread a couple of pages or do a search. Have a great trip and enjoy the YC;)

One option is to walk through Epcot and catch a direct bus from Epcot to MK.(avoiding monorail and tranfers)
Depending where your room is located, you may have a 5 minute walk to the resort bus stop and then all the stops at the other resorts. If you are staying at BC, you may be closer to Epcot gate then your resort bus stop.

There is no bus from Epcot to MK.

Teena,

I hope you can help me with this but....We are a party of five arriving at the YC Dec 29th for week. Three adults and two "adult" kids (21 and 18).
Could you recommend room locations for the YC and any special room requests I should make on my Reservation? We have a water view room.
Is it better to be closer to EPCOT or lobby or out on the wing?
We've always stayed at the POLY and this is our first YC trip. We are all a bit anxious about staying at the YC.

Thanks!

I thought they had buses running from one park to another.
Did they at one time?

There still are buses between most parks. However, from Epcot to MK, one must take the Epcot monorail and then transfer to the express monorail or a ferry to get to the MK.

Buses from DHS and DAK go to the TTC not directly to MK.

BTW, no room at the BC is closer to the front of Epcot than to the BC bus top. Not even remotely close.

It all depends on what you like. Do you like an upper floor or the first floor? Personally, I like the fourth floor close to the lobby (hence close to SAB and the bus stop and the boat to the Studios) with a view of the Lake. Just request whatever your preference is.
