We just got home and our standard room had the chest of drawers between the door and the closet plus the chest underneath the tv.

LOVED the Beach Club!!!!
And of course Teena was so friendly!

Yes, the standard rooms have the chest of drawers between the closet and door. The "standard" applies to the view not the room configuration. :thumbsup2

If you want to ask questions about the location of your room, etc. and therefore, maybe ask to be moved, I'd recommend not doing an on-line check-in.

I would agree with what you said. I would never recommend online check in for anyone who must have a room in a certain location (or be able to work out a compromise). But for folks like me, with one very general room request, or even no room requests at all, it's great. So far I've done it three times, twice at FW, and once at BC, and all three times I've just walked up, shown the ID and cc, received my package, and been on my way in less than five minutes. However, I've stayed at Disney resorts over 100 times, and I'm pretty easy to satisfy when it comes to room location. I have two more Disney trips booked for this year, and thinking about a third, and I will use online check in for all of them.

It kind of makes a person wish they had separate lines for "requests", "no requests", and "I really need to talk" - kind of like the separate security lines at the airport. I wish the online check in went farther and allowed you to select the room you want yourself from a pool of available rooms. I've done that with Hilton's online check in, and that's fantastic!

There is only a matter of a few minutes either way. BC is a few minutes closer to EPCOT and YC is a few minutes closer to the marina and ferry to DHS and EPCOT. The distance to SAB is about the same. BC is closer to the BC Marketplace.

One of the things I liked the best about BC and YC is that there is a lot more drawer space than either the GF or the Polynesian. Believe me that comes in handy with a family of 5 staying for two weeks!

I can't believe I just did this. I originally started this vacation staying with dd at the POP (because she liked the pictures) It is just dd, age 6, and myself.

We have an AP and are using our 45% AP discount.

Then I changed to Beach Club standard view.

Then I tried to upgrade to club level but it wasn't available. Then I discovered that if I gave up one night (8 nights instead of 9), that club level w/ discount IS available.

Then I looked at airfare. To change flights from our original date to the new date was over $300 total!!

Soooo, We are now arranging March 18 and staying one night in a standard view room. Then, our first morning, we will move to Club Level lagoon view for the next 8 nights. I am still in shock that they give the full discount for club level.

I started thinking about this whole trip, the added perks of CL, the food etc. Now, rather than eat out for breakfast every morning, we'll just do the couple of character breakfasts we have planned, and eat breakfast in the lounge the rest of the mornings. All those drinks add up.

What I'm wondering, is what is available for food at the club level? I'm wondering if I need to re-think some of our ADRS. Dd eats like a bird. I could definitely stand to cut back! LOL

Do the rooms have dvd players?

How hard will it be to move our room? Do you think they'll help us?

We have an 8 am character breakfast first morning. If all our stuff is ready, what should we do?

Hello! We're visiting next month, and had planned to try All Star Movies just once for our youngest, who is a huge Toy Story fan. We knew about cheerleading events, but did not previously understand the full impact, so we switched to BC. (We told our youngest we will be closer to Remy in EPCOT.) I've stayed at BC before and loved it, but we've been at WL for our last several trips. I think I can either remember or find everything I need to know about BC by searching the boards, but I did have one question.

We usually arrive at bus stops one hour before rope drop at the park we are visiting each morning. For the bus from BC to MK, what do the BC vets recommend? Is one hour before rope drop early enough?

Amen!

Not all rooms at the BC and YC have a chest of drawers. Unfortunately there are many different configurations.

I can Leisurely walk from the BC lobby to the YC lobby (past Beaches & Cream, the gym, etc.) in about 4-5 minutes.

I'll try to answer some of your questions.

The CL rooms have a DVD player and you can get DVDs at the concierge lounge. You just have to sign them out with a cm.

Here's what we had in the CL lounge last July (and basically the same thing in July and October 2008).

Breakfast: fruit, cereal, bagels, crossiants, muffins, juice, coffee
Snacks: yogurt covered pretzels, homemade chips and dip, cookies - sugar, chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin, gummy worms, soda, lemonade, etc.
Appetizers: there was always cheese and crackers, veg and dip, hummus and pita bread and usually two hot items such as potstickers, mini eggrolls, duck quesedillas, chicken skewers, bacon wrapped scallops, and some kids things like ants on a log.
Desserts: mini desserts such as cheesecake, key lime pie, cookies, mousse and cordials.

HTH.

:woohoo::yay::dance3:Woo-hoo! Wife and I are taking advantage of the great deals Disney is having right now and are heading back to the Beach Club from August 8-15th, staying CL again (since we really enjoyed it last time!).

So excited!!! :cool1::banana:

We are staying club level, lagoon view. The website says lagoon view club level are located on the 5th floor and have views of crescent lake.

Will we be able to see Illuminations from our room??

They have added hard boiled egg slices to the breakfast items in the CL lounge.

Would that be in both YC and BC? We are staying YC CL in November. Is seems SO FAR AWAY!!!

Thank you for taking care of us like you do!!!

Yep, both sides. Make sure you tell any managers you see standing around up on the fifth floor if you like them. When they add things, sometimes if they don't get good feedback, they take it away.

November isn't that far away ... summers always fly by and before you know it, you'll be here.

Here is a question no one has answered yet, does anyone know which restaurants you can use as room service at the Beach Club?
