The 2009 U2 Thread - No Line On The Horizon Album & Tour

I was so mad when they pushed it back!!

Yeah, I was upset at first too but then Summit moved Twilight up to that date and all was good again!! Even though Twilight grew on me after the 6th time seeing it, I'm sure Half Blood Prince will not disappoint!

Last night DBF got qualified to win tickets to see U2 at an intimate venue(?) in Boston next Wednesday. There were only 13 qualifiers so chances are pretty good. They will fly us up on the 11th, see the show, and fly back on the 12th. I would like to have seen more of Boston but if this concert makes him happy that's all that matters. They pick the winner tonight at 10:15 so cross your fingers for us at that time. :thumbsup2 WooHoo, wish us luck! :cheer2: :cheer2:

I really hope you guys win, that would be so awesome!!! I have all fingers crossed for you!!! :goodvibes

Hi All--another longtime fan here! I am loving the new cd. I'm a member of the fan club, but am thinking that with my husband's job being iffy, it wouldn't be wise to spend money on tickets. My fingers are crossed that they won't go on sale for a while and we can get our feet back under us in time for me to get the tickets. Anyway, I just read on eonline that in the new Rolling Stone interview that's coming out, the band says they will be putting out another album of new material before the end of the year, called "Songs of Ascent," which they describe as being mellower than NLOTH. They've even already chosen the first single from that record. Pretty exciting!

Hi! We chatted on the old Vertigo thread I started right?

I did read about another album around Dec and like I said above, this year can't get much better!!! Well, except if maybe we won the lotto or something but at this point we're lucky to just keep our jobs! I hear you about money being tight for tickets but I've been saving just for this tour so it's time for mac n cheese for a few weeks!! I'm really torn since all my favorite bands decided to tour this year!! Couldn't they just all tour together!!

I did like the Twilight movie but it doesn't compare to the HP movies. The effects were so cheese!! I swear the effects in the Lost Boys circa 1987 were better than that!!

So...anyone have the album yet??? What do you think? After many, many listens No Line on the Horizon is still my favorite track. Stand Up Comedy is really growing on me though.

I got it on Tuesday. Only gave it a good listen once since, on the way home from work. Planning on doing the same again today. I like Breathe and Stand Up Comedy.

Yes, I downloaded it Tuesday and No Line is my favorite track and I really like Magnificent too. :thumbsup2

What did you think of their performance on GMA this morning? My kiddos were dancin' with their cheerios (and were almost late to school b/c mom wanted to finish watching). I wish they hadn't cut out on the last song however...

I am really liking the new album. Enjoy:thumbsup2!!

karenos;)

I haven't had a chance yet to watch any of the performances except for Monday's on Letterman. I'm gonna do that tonight and I'll let you know tomorrow!

This was posted on U2.com today:

Dates for the U2360° Tour will be announced exclusively, here on U2.com, at 8am Dublin time, this Monday, March 9th.

Great, now I gotta go and figure out the time difference!! I'm on the west coast.
Also, I wonder who is going to be opening for them?? They almost always have a great band!

All I know is I can't wait to start planning!! :woohoo:

Middle of the line U2 fan here. From what I've heard of the new album, I'm not impressed. They could burp into the microphone for 60 miuutes, and most critics will call it a masterpiece though.

My DH is decidedly NOT a U2 fan, but we went to their last tour and even he admits that it was the best show he has ever been to. I was greatly surprised and dreaded going to the concert with him, but he really liked it.

Why does it always list Giants Stadium as being in NY? It's Jersey people!

That being said, I'm going to be on vacation when they're in my area.

Hmmm. I hope they add more dates at a later time. I don't even see Philly on there. But, I could put a bug in DH's ear for the DC or VA shows as a 41st B-day gift for me!:rockband:

The rumor is that Muse will be the opening act for some of this tour!!! This has me giddy since I became a big Muse fan about a year ago!!! Can't wait!!!

I'm still holding out for Las Vegas and Pasadena to go on sale. Anyone else going to these shows???

Ok, how have I missed a U2 thread on the Dis???

Huge U2 fan here. Anyone else here post on @u2 and interference? I am anxiously awaiting the presale for the Tampa show and hoping they play Miami when they return back to the states for a future leg of the tour.

We will be at the show at Giants stadium and Muse is opening!!! We can't wait!!

DH and I are huge U2 fans and have seen them in concert many times. We both agree that this latest album is just OK. Nothing like albums of the past. Still I would never pass up an opportunity to see them live. Now that I know Muse is opening up for them at Giants Stadium just makes it even better since DH and I are big fans of theirs. It will be our first time seeing Muse live and I heard they are incredible.

First, Hi my fellow Twilighter! I don't post on any U2 forum since I can barely keep up with the Dis but I do subscribe to @u2 and Wire so I'm flooded with everyone posting about the presale!

It will be our first time seeing Muse as well!! I really couldn't think of a better opener!!

It took me a few times through to get into No Line but at some point something clicked and I now think it's great!! Are there any songs you really like? What's your favorite album?
